We laugh in the middle of so many depressing news, but the truth is that the enemy's poor thinking habits (how is that for diplomatic talk!) can be hazardous for us. For a long time Israel has tried to reason with its enemies to no avail. You can present the facts backed up by solid historical record, and they will still refute them. One can't help but feel sorry for them as their brainwashing starts at the cradle, and continues in school, on TV, at their mosques, on newspapers and the internet, everywhere. Those with potential are swallowed up by this machine. The others, no matter where they live, London or Israel, will continue to believe what they want to believe. In the meantime Israel and the West continues to try to reason with people who have outlooks so different from us, that we end up hurting ourselves in the process. One example is the attempt by the US to democratize Iraq and Afghanistan. Canada just had eight casualties in Afghanistan. Canadians went there to help to stabilize and reconstruct the country. They are nice guys full of ideals and then they get blown up by roadside bombs. And there is no end in sight. It seems that Western forces will be stuck there for ever, wating for democracy to take hold..... It's time we just took these cultures at their word. They mean what they say. All attempts at compromising and reasoning with them are futile.
