Sarah ,   Israel   (04.16.07)
Personalization is exactly what has to be done. 6 million is just a number. But when you start to read in to the lives of those who lived and died, it changes that number into human beings. It is so much harder to fathom and accept what happened to all these people once they are humanized. It was the nazi's intention to dehumanize them; we won't let that happen. These were friends, fathers, mothers, babies, sisters, lovers. Thats how we have to approach the holocaust. It is never enough.
5. Sins of our fathers
Drungar ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.16.07)
It turns out that we inherit the sins of our forefathers, whether we like it or not, in the same way that the consequences of our own sins will be carred by our children. The Shoah is an excellent reminder that there are consequences to our actions or inactions--and even if we may escape them, they will still haunt future generations. Germany will never be the same because of this: even if they erase the memory, the act of its erasure will still stain that culture.
6. #1 and #2...care to elaborate?

7. they got their own power, NO NEED TO REMIND
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (04.16.07)
just try to realy respect them. THAT IS TO TAKE CARE OF WORLD CHILDREEN HOPES. REMEMBER LAST WAR. MANY CHILDREEN KILLED. WHERE ARE THEIR SOULSSSSS ? IN THE BLOODDY SKIES OF MIDDLE EAST. The Holocaust was the DIRTIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN THE PHOTOS. lets stop LITTLE HOLOCAUSTS. EVERY KILLED CHILD IS VERY BAD POINT FOR HUMANITY FUTURE.
8. Humanity will win
Ali ,   Ramallah -Palestine   (04.16.07)
The Jews people suffered from the Holucost. We hope that this will never happen again. I also hope that those who suffered from these memories will have a better life in this world. The Palestinian people also suffered from the Israeli occupation. Please, don't repeat HISTORY.
9. EVERY KILLED CHILD IS ANOTHER (LITTLE) HOLOCAUST (end)

ben ,   singapore   (04.16.07)
I care to eloborate....I meant, never let let another holocaust happen ever again to the Jewish Peopel anywhere in any part of the world.Seeing photos and listening from survivors of the first hand testimony has been very painful and I cry with my people .And that is what I meant , so I said ENOUGH it is very painful.ENOUGH is ENOUGH ! The Jermans carry the stigma for ever ,in their culture,in their nation ; the sin of silence for the evil done to the Jewish People will go unforgiven. NEVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN AND REMEMBER TO REMIND THE WORLD OF THE HOLOCAUST ! ben singapore

sometimes i wish ahmadinejad and mel gibson were right and this had never happened. i wish it was just part of a jewish conspiracy to create a state, part of a colossal lie to inspirate sympathy and pity. how i wish they'd be right...

nfortunately your ignorance is beyond words to make such comparisons. Yes,palestinians have died and guess what- blowing yourselves up and others is EVIL.Care to address your own sickness here? There is no comparison although I am not saying palestinians haven't been killed.Israelis do not take delight in this and have done what they could NOT to have more casualties/but the homicide bombers don't stop.Israel has a right to exist. That is something you need to think about as well. and the word PEACE and CO-Existence.
16. tired of it?
deb ,   NOLA   (04.20.07)
When my son was young we took him to the Florida Holocaust memorial and my son said he did not want to be there and "I don't like seeing all this".An older man(survivor)who works there said "I also don't like it and wish I were not here...".So true and so poignant. No one likes it but we have to see it and remember all the victims- we owe it to them.
