2. Should Have Attacked During Lebanon War.
We had every reason to attack Syria during the Lebanon War. We would have foiled Iranian plans to encircle us, seriously undermined Hezbollah, & removed any diplomatic pressure to negotiate away the Golan.
Now, we will sit & wait until they feel strong enough to attack us - perhaps in coordination with Hezbollah & Hamas.
This was a major strategic error which will cost us many lives in future.
We are governed by fools.

3. You don't attack Syria, you retaliate in defense
|

4. Syria has got an itchy trigger finger encouraged by Leb War
|

5. Time to threaten Syria using back channel diplomacy
Israel must address Syrian belligerency via back channel and let them know we will not hesitate to strike back "disproportionally" if they try to "liberate" the Golan. There is no international law or resolution demanding we do same. In fact, all int'l law supports our right to KEEP IT ALL. Someone should be quoting the Law of Nations and all other int'l law re the disposition of territorial spoils of war vis a vis secure and defensible borders when one is attacked. Syria needs to know that if they fire one chemical weapon or try to take back the Golan, they will be very sorry. No weapon has ever been built that hasn't been used sooner or later. Sadly, we better get prepared to use our nuclear/neutron bombs, we're going to need them....sooner than we think.

16. Olmert won't attack Syria because
this government already has plans to hand them over the Golan without a fight.
For a "promise of peace", of course.

17. ANYONE care what Olmert says ANYMORE!!!????

18. Trading lives
While we all can sympathize with the fate of Corporal Shalit and the agony of his parents, it is time to be realistic. The only sensible response to the Palestinian demand for a prisoner exchange is NO, not any conditions. Any exchange means more kidnapping and more killing of Israelis.

21. call steven speilberg to film the 6 hour war make a movie
Forty years ago Israel defeated Syria and 2 other arab armies in 6 days at that time Syria was a major power in the region and Israel was not.
Today Israel can defeat Syria in 6 hours.
Merkava 4 tanks v aging T 72s
The most advanced version of the F16 v aging MIG 21s which Syria is short on parts for and it has very badly trained pilots .. while the IAF pilots are the best trained in the region.
The Scud B and C missles from the 70s and 80s are no match for the latest PAC 2 patriot and arrow missle defense systems.
If Assad thinks he can win a war agianst Israel then he needs to go and see an optometrist because he must have some trouble with his eyes.

22. allready calls for more kdinapings
Both Hamas and Fatah are allready saying that they should kidnap more Israelis to use as bargining chips.
If Olmert had simply said no deal either you give him back unconditionly or we make you sorry .. we close off the territories instead of easing up travel restrictions we make them tougher turn the place into a giant prison where nobody goes in or out for any reason not even Abbas.
Cut of the electricity in Gaza its on the Israeli grid pulling the plug is easy.
Talk to the US get Bush to make some threats of his own to Abbas no more money of any sort , also Egypt seems to be very involved in all of this and know all the details so tell Mubarak no more American money or millitary aid unless he gets Israels man back uncondionly.
Even Russia could play a role get Bush to talk with Putin get him to talk with Assad preasure him to put preasure on hamas and hizbollah get everybody back.
There are other ways of getting the soilders back without having to release thousands of terrorists including Bargouti and men who have personly murdered Israelis which will result in more kidnapings.
Just a shame we cant trade Olmert, Peretz and Livni .. 3 valuable soilders in return for 3 useless enemies of the state.

23. #22 pulling the plug is easy' but useless

Your hands are tied with the peace treaty , aren't they !
