4. #2: what are you talking about?
Robert H. ,   Manchester   (04.23.07)
They were not conquering anything. The purpose was to harm Hezbollah after two soldiers were kidnapped before.
5. rami, atlanta
dovie ,   us, ny   (04.23.07)
hezbollah raided the border wounded and abducted soldiers on israeli territory. the army went to lebanon not to conquer but to retrieve or release the soldiers and to remove hezbollah positions from the border. they were heroes and rami will be burning. No doubt about it. He Will Regret.
6. Vicrtims
Persian CAT   (04.23.07)
These soldiers are the victims of Isreali rulers' war crimes. There is no heroism in attacking and lilling villagers and people in their apartments. Those who sent these young men and women to their deaths and, for who survived to, to live with the memory of a humilating defeat should be tried as war criminals.
7. israeli soliders-the bravest in the world

For me; all those have fallen, wounded and took part in the war whether on Lebanese soils or working from Israeli soils are HEROS.

10. commemoration
(04.23.07)
today we had our commemoration for the fallen and victims of terrirsm. it was a beautiful ceremony in remembering those that have died so that we can live and continue to exist. to those who have sacrificed their lives and to those who have innocently dies due to terror and to all their families as well as the living who have participated in all wars in israel.... my hats off to you all for your bravery, for your sacrifice and for your ultimate highest honor to serve your country and the jewish people of israel. may you be remembered for eternity, cherished for eternity and honored for the heros that you were, are and will forever be in our hearts all over the world. we also commemorate the non jewish victims of terrorism who have perished because of the cancer called islam. may all your souls in heaven rest in peace and may all your families find comfort in the knowledge that you were the very best there is.
11. #6 Unfortunate victims
Lina ,   USA   (04.23.07)
It's unfortunate Lebanon is so weak that it allows terrorist Hizbullah to fester on Lebanese land. That Sinoria did not stop Nasrallah from attacking Israel. That Israeli soldiers had to give their lives to fight a senseless war of terror perpetrated by greedy terrorists to justify their existence. The Israeli soldiers are heros for putting their lives on the line to protect their country.

not defeat.....but sacrifice. believe you me, if israel took the white political correctness gloves off from the beginning, there would be no hizbullah today.

18. Heros?!!
Lynne   (04.23.07)
There are no heros in war.. all are criminals.. how many innocent civilians did those "heros" kill or were itending to kill???!!
19. lynne
israeli   (04.23.07)
probably fewer than the number of Israeli civilians Hezbollah intended to kill. According to your logic, Hezbollah are killers and criminals, yes?
20. Israeli..
Lynne   (04.24.07)
yes Hezbollah were criminals from the minute they started firing rockets onto residential areas in Israel.. but keep in mind that Hezbollah started by attacking soldiers and Israel responded by attacking civilians...

israeli ,   israel   (04.24.07)
No, dear, IDF went after the Hezbollah, who were hiding among civilians and were also wearing civilian clothes. On the other hand, for the entire duration of the war, Hezbollah kept targeting civilians - 5000 rockets or so fell on Israel. Please, get your facts straight. And once and for all, whoever starts a war cannot complain that is was not fought according to their liking. On the other hand, the soldiers cited here were fighting the Hezbollah, not civilians, yes? They came under fire, didn' t they? They brought back prisoners and bodies of Hezbollah and Iranian terrorists, didn't they? Now, if you remember your history, Germany started WWII (much like Hezbollah). Germany was left in ruins at the end of WWII. Nobody blamed the Allies who went for Germany with all they hand - actually Dresden and hamburg were practically destroyed. Conclusion: don't start a war. If you insist of starting a war, suffer the consequences.
22. Hello Israeli!!
Lynne   (04.25.07)
"Conclusion: don't start a war. If you insist of starting a war, suffer the consequences. " I absolutely agree with you!! hmm.. let us try to put your conclusion at work.. in 1982 Hezbollah was started in the first place as a result of Israel's invasion to Lebanon.. so Hezbollah in the first place is a CONSEQUENCE of a war Israel started!! so if Israel started a war it should suffer the consequences.. right?! another thing is that it's still not clear who started the war.. there are stories saying that the Israeli soldiers were caught INSIDE Lebanese territories.
