1. with friends like him who needs enemies?
Alex ,   US   (04.27.07)
2. maybe
Michael ,   Haifa   (04.27.07)
Maybe he is more intelligent than given credit for.
3. Is he from the moon?
Takan ,   Eilat   (04.27.07)
"The United States must be involved in the region, and that is what the current president failed to do". If he would say more or less involved, I would understand. The US soldiers are in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting, and US are all over the middle east peace process. Talk about hot air...Obama is trying to please all sides of the political spectrum without really defining his positions. A truly Arab mind. I wonder if the Americans are going to fall for it. America, vote for the business man, the black man or even for a woman, but do not vote Obama in, it looks more like shooting oneself in the foot.
4. obama is a islamic muslim at heart and he is dumb
debra ,   usa   (04.27.07)
the pals just had an election and voted for hamas as their leaders.
5. Obama will be president and he will put pressure on Israel
(04.27.07)
period. Welcome to the new world where AIPAC is not the second White House but just a lobby. First they get out of Irak, second they try to arrange peace between Isreal and the Arabs and third they are fed up and let you make the war that will destroy your country. Enjoy !
6. Obama Did Fine
...Then There's Me   (04.27.07)
Obama did fine. It was a loaded question anyways. We can name off a dozen countries that he could've listed instead of Israel. Especially Canada. You know, those guys to the north who have assisted the U.S. more often than the reverse. Canadians aren't flipping out over it, neither should Israelis. The problem with the his performance overall had to do with him trying to say as much as possible in such little time. It was a poorly scheduled debate. Obama should't lose points because of MSNBC.
7. The Lynching Begins...
Fred Simon ,   Hong Kong   (04.27.07)
This is ludicrous! I mean, the EU and Japan ARE indeed our most important allies, bar none. Duh! Sorry Israel... And because Obama has the guts to say that TRUTH, he is essentially now being lynched by you know whom... Here's the proposition before him: "If you fail to mention that Israel and its protection [even at the expense of our soldiers in Iraq and elsewhere] are America's most important foreign policy objectives, then you're not fit to be president." That's essentially the insinuation here. ...and I bet you what's next: Abraham Foxman just got himself the next candidate to declare an "anti-semite" after Jimmy Carter...
8. No life without Israel :)
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (04.27.07)
every baby needs a mama, needs a papa. a song. I am listening now :) love. Atilla :)
9. A black president? Is it likely ?
redkmike ,   tel aviv and london   (04.27.07)
I am not talking personally here but about US readiness. I am not sure that it is ready for a female president either ? Europe is big US ally ? Some countries yes, some no ! France for example hates America and some others certainly aren't in love with the States even though more than one hundred and sixteen thousand GIs were killed and two hundred and thirty five thousand others were wounded allowing countries like France the freedom that they have today.
10. I never saw show .I heard he said China was 3rd.Is it so?
Alan ,   SA   (04.27.07)
11. #7 - Israel is the US hammer in the ME !
redkmike ,   tel aviv and london   (04.27.07)
Europe has many countries and a lot of them like France hate the US ! Why call them allies ? The EU countries are not the same in any way as the US States ! Of course some EU countries like the UK are staunch allies but it is not very bright to lump them all together. Well I can see why you do :-)
12. Ally to the US?
Bret ,   Israel   (04.27.07)
Correct me if I am wrong but Israel has slapped America in the face many times and violates international law...constantly, so when you ask is Israel a top US ally? no, it is more of a liability than a benefit to America even with the technology sharing...Israel would turn on America in a second...the EU and Japan can't and wont do that because of their nature and they are not fighting to survive, Israel however will threaten and take out any threat to its existance, A-bomb anyone?
13. Obama exposed!
David E. ,   Jerusalem   (04.27.07)
Eight Democratic presidential candidates met at South Carolina State University in the party’s first Presidential Debate. When asked who the United States’ top allies are, Senator Barack Obama said the European Union and Japan, but failed to mention Israel. The debate moderator - NBC News anchor Brian Williams - interrupted Obama, drawing his attention to the omission and quoting Obama as having once said, “No one suffers more than the Palestinians.”
14. To # 1 and #4
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (04.27.07)
# 1: With firends like the USA who needs enemies? Ask the Goldwasser and Regev familes and maybe even the Shalits. #4: Regarding Senator Obama's religion, this following is a quote from the Wikipedia which says it all: "A theme of Obama's keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and the title of his 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope, was inspired by a sermon by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the pastor of Obama's church.[128] In the book, Obama describes his non-religious upbringing: I was not raised in a religious household. My maternal grandparents, who hailed from Kansas, had been steeped in Baptist and Methodist teachings as children, but religious faith never really took root in their hearts. My mother's own experiences as a bookish, sensitive child growing up in small towns in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas only reinforced this inherited skepticism. [...] My father was almost entirely absent from my childhood, having been divorced from my mother when I was 2 years old; in any event, although my father had been raised a Muslim, by the time he met my mother he was a confirmed atheist, thinking religion to be so much superstition. Obama writes that his religious convictions formed during his twenties, when, as a community organizer working with local churches, he came to understand "the power of the African American religious tradition to spur social change": It was because of these newfound understandings–that religious commitment did not require me to suspend critical thinking, disengage from the battle for economic and social justice, or otherwise retreat from the world that I knew and loved–that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized. It came about as a choice and not an epiphany; the questions I had did not magically disappear. But kneeling beneath that cross on the South Side of Chicago, I felt God's spirit beckoning me. I submitted myself to His will, and dedicated myself to discovering His truth.129" You can decide.

16. obama IS NO FRIEND TO THE JEWS
James Shortz ,   Toledo, USA   (04.27.07)
None of the dems are, but this clown is very bad news
17. Obama
Brod ,   USA   (04.27.07)
Obama should not be concerned about the dark forces. To do so will only make him an easy prey for them to manipulate and brainwash and be entangled in their quagmire. The fact is there is no difference between the leadership of the dark forces and their foot soldiers. They are one and united in their evil ideology of Jihadism.
18. Maybe the American presidential candidates should pledge
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (04.27.07)
allegiance to the Israeli flag before begining each debate.
19. Bret #12
Brod ,   USA   (04.27.07)
It is surprising to see this kind of comment from Israel. I think Israel has better relations with America than the EU or Japan. Israel is a sovereign country and not a colony of the America. Hence, Israel has the right and power to say Yes or No to anything that is thrown at her. In matters pertaining to compromising the security of Israel and the giving away Israel's Biblical and Historic homeland of Judea and Samaria to the dark forces, Israel has all the rights in the world to say NO even to America. Israel is NOT a robot of any country that will allow herself to be given to the ravenous wolves to ravage. It is time the Leftists understand this principle. Israel is your homeland and you should defend your country from external intererfences, threats and aggressions from the ravenous wolves--Islamist-Jihadists and other countries.
20. Let's not forget when Hillary kissed Suha Arafat

22. #14
Jacky ,   USA   (04.27.07)
And if you really believe that crap from wikipedia then you're more ignorant then I thought. Its obvious to me that his "maternal" side wasnt very christian at all if they had a kiddy with a musselman from kenya and then sent him to jihad school in indonesia. Osama, I mean Barak Hussien Obama will say anything to get some votes and so will his supporters. He is/will be NO friend of Israel. Mark my words!
23. #20Hillary kissed Suha Arafat. Girls will be girls
Alan ,   Sa   (04.27.07)
24. To #16 James Shortz , Toledo - So who is?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (04.27.07)
Judging by some of the hatred expressed on YnetNews by Jews against Jews, are you surprised that so many don't like us? We aren't a very likeble lot, you know. Corruption, investigations, allegations of Presidential Rape and other little disgusting behavior are not very endearing matters.
25. re: 21 and 19
Bret ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (04.27.07)
Well I do live in Israel and I am Israeli and American. I don't need to prove myself to you...why would I pretend to be Israeli and be living in Israel? To gain credibility? Please, this is an online chat forum...give me some credit as to not be THAT pathetic and fake my identity, To Brod, I think we are standing in the same viewpoint, Israel is not a robot to any country, this is apparent in any negotating process with the Arab states and the US, while the US understands that Israel must protect her security, it cannot give it carte blanche to do whatever it deems necessary and this is where the US and Israel come into conflict...as with the EU, I meant as US ally not to Israel... Israel does what it thinks is necessary to protect herself yet I believe some policies are detrimental in the long run but might be a short fix, You may consider me a leftist but I would say I am more of a practical conservative right-ist...I understand the impractibility of moving 4million+ Palestinians out of the West Bank and Gaza, do we need to bring about world war 3 so Israel can express its true gain to conquer all the territory? Which would inevitably destroy all sides and then what good is Israel without inhabitants and with a broken society If the government was so keen on capturing all of historic Israel they should have expelled the Arabs in 48 or 67 when they could have justified it, now it is impossible especially with the international attention and years and years into the confict So what do we do now? Face an impossible fronteir that is bleeding our economy dry while building settlements? How can the Israeli government justify spending so much money on the settlements when 20% of our citizens are underneath the poverty line, 700,000 Jewish children are living in unsuitable housing and living conditions and don't receive proper nutrition, amost 100,000 holocaust survivors cannot afford to live off their pension and live in unsuitable disgusting housing (seen it first hand). Jewish women make 70 agurot to the shequel compared with Jewish men... Sounds like a backwards system ...we should focus on strengthening our middle class and taking care of our citizens who are marginalized instead of funding the settlers who receive housing discounts, welfare, tax breaks, gas discounts, special highways.... Keep the IDF there, remove the settlers...at the bare minimum they pose a threat to Israeli's because of how much money is sucked over to their side and leaving the budget for education, health care, development under par Our country means nothing if we cannot take care of our own....and we aren't

I see where you are coming from. However, your solution to the problem is simplistic. You assume that by giving away Israel's Biblical and Historic homeland to the Arab Islamist-Jihadists, you will have peace. Unfortunately, you are mistaken on this. Peace in the minds of Arab Islamist-Jihadists means the elimination of Israel from the Middle East. Their Charter calls for the destruction of Israel! Since their emergence in the 7th century in the Arabian Desert, the Arab Islamist-Jihadists have been crusading their Jihadism throughout the Middle East and the whole world. More recently, Israel gave away its land in Southwestern Israel to the wolves, hoping that would generate peace and quiet in Israel. The result was the opposite. It emboldened the Arab Islamist-Jihadists to attack Israel by launching more rockets at Israel and terrorizing Israel's town of Sderot. And Hezbollah launched more rockets at Israel in 2006 than Israel has ever seen the past 4000 years. The Ayatollahs threatened to annihilate Israel and are feverishly working on their nukes to accomplish their evil intention. The point is giving away more land by chipping away Israel's tiny land to the Arab Islamist-Jihadists will NOT bring peace and quiet to Israel. The wolves want to swallow the whole of Israel!!! This is not to say that they have no plans to swallow Europe and America or the rest of the world. Their Trojan Horses in these countries are working toward the same goal. This is a subject that will cover a book to discuss. I would recommend that you read the following Must Read books by brilliant experts on this subject: "Islam and Terrorism" [2002] by Mark A. Gabriel "The Force of Reason" [2004] by Oriana Fallaci "Religion of Peace? Islam's War Against The World" [2006] by Gregory M. Davis "Why I Left Jihad" [2005] by Walid Shoebat "Saddam's Secrets" [2006] by Georges Sada "Because They Hate" [2006] by Brigitte Gabriel "The Everlasting Hatred The Roots of Jihad" [2002] by Hal Lindsey "Leaving Islam" {2003] edited by Ibn Warraq "World On Fire" [2004] by Amy Chua "Preachers of Hate" [2004] by Kenneth R. Timmerman "The Jerusalem Alternative" [2004] edited by Dimtry Radyshevsky "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam" [2005] by Robert Spencer "Onward Muslim Soldiers" [2003] by Robert Spencer "Secrets Of The Kingdom" [2006] by Gerald Posner "Hatred's Kingdom" [2003] by Dore Gold
