Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (04.29.07)
B"H, I pray that this finally brings down this corrupt, inept gang. Israel's enemies are drooling at the chance to attack again while these disgraces are still in office. Israel, PLEASE throw them out and replace them with real leaders before this can happen, chas v-shalom.
2. Olmert too critisized
cato the younger ,   USA   (04.29.07)
Stop this nasty criticism of Oldmerde and Putzetz !! They should both be Prime Minister and Defense Minister respectively........of LUXEMBOURG!!! Norway?
3. Everyone knew about this!
Lednah ,   Europe   (04.29.07)
"According to the committee the war was grossly mismanaged and decisions were hastily made in the ensuing chaos." "Peretz, according to the committee, preferred to convene a private forum which bypassed the ministry of defense so that in the end he was running the war with Olmert with a complete lack of the necessary knowledge. " This was completely clear to everyone who whatched the news during the war. The weird thing is Peretz "was relieved"... He obviously thought it was an union strike, not a war.
4. Hey Olmert...SPIN you r way out of this one!
malcolm   (04.29.07)
5. Kadima ,party of Incompetence
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.29.07)
Olmert is incapable of leading Israel except to it's demise. An appeasers and a rewarder of Islamic terrorism who goes after his own people whlie serving a failed foreign agenda Road Map is not fit to rule over anything.
6. Celebraaation Day....Come on ...and CELEBRATE !!!!
malcolm   (04.29.07)
Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY Israel !!!!
7. We can only hope Olmert is gone.
Richard ,   USA   (04.29.07)
I hope against hope that Israel will be ready now to dump Olmert and the rest of the corrupt Kadima clowns. Bibi can provide the leadership which is so sorely needed.
8. Once Olmert and his cronies lose power they can be jailed
Nannette ,   London, UK   (04.29.07)
At long last, Israel can get rid of the filthy stench of corruption right at the top... and start afresh. Israel needs a strong, democratic government, whose main concern should be the protection of the Israelis, not the opinion of internationals. Israel needs patriotic, solid leaders, who will implement a proper constitution, change the way elections are held, and allow Israelis to have proportional voting by electing their local MKs, instead of voting for one party. If this happens, a lot of corruption will disappear overnight, because no-one will vote for anyone with dirt on their hands. Get a new government who will protect the people, the land, and won't be manipulated by the international leaders who don't care about Jews!

Steve ,   Israel   (04.29.07)
You have to be joking. To replace the current corrupt leaders with Bibi would be a joke. His record of misleading the public recurrent lies that leave his mouth so naturally and his record of his last round in control would be a disaster to an already pathetic sad situation We need an honest upright charismatic leader with integrity to run things the only problem there is no one out there to take up the challenge
10. #5 Not Kadima's Fault
(04.29.07)
Kadima was a one man party. YOu can bet every penny you own that if Sharon were PM the Lebanon war would have looked completely different.
11. It takes courage to resign! This lot lack it!
Arthur ,   Israel   (04.29.07)
"Committee findings accuse prime minister of mismanaging war, slam defense minister's lack of military knowledge." Since when our politicians become thick skinned? Where is the sensitiveness that lead Menahem Begin to resign his prime-ministerial post for his wife's 1$ fraud; has gone? Here our national security is at stake and these people are clinging to their chairs like leaches! It takes courage to resign, which these people lack!!!
12. Gillerman for PM
freejay ,   Israel   (04.29.07)
13. Olmert
Claudia ,   Tampa, FL USA   (04.29.07)
I will be surprised if Olmert resigns. He seems to be oblivious to the fact everyone in Israel wants him GONE, (except 3%) along with his minister of defense. Good grief, what does it take for these people to do the right thing!
14. Kudos
BK ,   Haifa Israel   (04.29.07)
for # 9 and # 12 - right on target.
15. #7 You're joking, right?
Esther ,   Ofarim, Israel   (04.29.07)
Bibi was one of the worst prime ministers Israel has ever had, right up there with Barak. We need him like a hole in the head.
16. didnt u stupid israelis elect him in the 1st place?
Alqassam   (04.29.07)
so why are you complaining now?
17. Uneducated Tire-Burner
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (04.29.07)
Mr. A. Peretz is an uneducated tire-burner. How could someone like that be given the most important job of "Defense Minister" for the State of Israel? Does he know military strategy and military doctrine? Does he have any experience in preparing for a war? Does he understand logistics? And yet, Mr. Peretz was in charge of sending our soldiers out to battle in a very rough environment which they were not properly trained for nor equipped to handle. Because of his lack of experience and limited understanding, Israel was unprepared and failed.
18. Where Was Mofaz?
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (04.29.07)
If Olmert goes, and his entourage, I ask, who will replace them? which group of Israeli leftists, or rightists, now berating him would better serve the country? As far as Sharon, he fostered the disengagement, and allowed Hezbollah to group and be supplied by Syria. He knew that fighting on 2 fronts (with Hamas) would be difficult and probably result in serious casualties. The ground invasion was thwarted by US controls over Israel's defense (not killing civilians and all that). Israel has had the power, but not the will to circumvent Bush's restraints, just as it caved in to US on the Phalcon debacle. I'm frankly amazed that any person would be interested in a military career. And again, who would be better for Israel? Lots of back seat drivers there, who are not accountable. The committees are nothing but trash. Israel is caught in a squeeze play with no hail Marys, so to speak. There is no cure-all in this difficult conflict. Underestimating the Katyushas, give me a break.
19. israelis are dreaming if
mazen   (04.29.07)
they expected a different war outcome under natanyahu and it means they just don't get it.....i.e the nature of their foe.
20. Olmert incompetent? I'm shocked!
Hezy ,   Jerusalem   (04.29.07)
