(04.30.07)
Let's make our voices heard at Rabin Square on Thursday evening. If we rise up together as a people, the prime minister will have to listen. If we sit passively at home, he'll figure we really don't care. COME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. EVERY PERSON COUNTS!

j ,   jerusalem, israel   (04.30.07)
....the geographical map of Israel and "make history" with a "re-alignment" of G-d's land? Oh how feeble men esteem to such heights, only to fall before the almighty like a feather in the wind. How long oh G-d! How long will you allow such men to rule your land?! How long will you let this precious land be troden under foot by those that hate it?! How long until you redeem the land we failed to redeem a generation past? How long oh G-d of Israel, how long will your patience run?!

8. To protect the democratic institutions
Michael   (04.30.07)
the Prime Minister should accept the findings and preserve whatever respect is left for the Prime Minister's office. U.S. President Harry Truman once said, "The Buck Stops here". Why should our Democratically elected leaders be held to anything less?!

Steve ,   USA   (04.30.07)
B"H It is nice to criticize Olmert for going to war, but who is his replacement. Is it Shimon Peretz who did not want to go to war? The report is critical of Olmert for going to war without proper preparation of the IDF. But who in the Kensset was banging the table to further prepare the IDF? If you deserve better, you better identify who is better. Otherwise you will get worse, far worse, in the next round of elections. It is time for the media to take its share of the responsibility for have promoted this fellow into office and actually investigate where each of the parties stand now. It is totally irresponsible of the press to say, "Throw him out!" without saying who to throw in! Why call for new elections if the press is going to promote those with the wrong philosophy again leading to a similar circumstance? The press needs to bear responsibility for its failure in the war and its failure in promoting a sane government, sonner rather than later.
13. #9 Habayta Besimcha Rabbah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
David E. ,   Jerusalem   (04.30.07)
14. #7, Andrew, you have to be kidding
Phil ,   US   (04.30.07)
What could have he done better? Are you fooling around or just returned from a two year trip to another planet? To answer your question would take too many pages. So for a start, he could have appointed a competent defense minister. He could have prepared a battle plan if he knew he was going to reject the one in place (which he did). He could have provided relief for the besieged North. He could have insisted that the IDF was properly supplied for the war. etc., etc., etc.
15. #6 the answer is as long as you let them.

18. Don't you forget something ?
christa ,   near Monaco   (05.01.07)
117 soldiers and 44 civilians killed. Yes, but what about the thousands of innocent Lebanese who died for no reason ? And the millions of Euros - or US dollars - of useless destructions of civilian infrastructure in Lebanon ?
19. Remember
abe ,   USA   (05.01.07)
Before the war started back in Jully, Sayed Nasrallah said " The Israeli governing punch has no experience in war, their front men has no idea whom they will be fighting against, I advise them to ask their prodecessors befor they engage themselves in a lost war". As I was listening to this ma , I said to myself ; this guy is crazy, he does not know what he is talking about. Days passed and I see the Winograd report as it is repeating what that crazy Sayed said, i think sometimes enemies should listen to each others and they should not ignore thei enemies advice. I hope this is the last war that Lebanon and israel will encounter. People deserve to live in peace, people on both sides had enough. Israel should realize that its opression of the Arab population should stop. Israel now has the upper hand in enforcing a just and fina peoace for the people of the area. Thank you
20. No reason Christa?
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (05.01.07)
The Lebanese people not only alloowed a terror organization established to destroy Israel operat on its territory, they voted that organization into its government! When that group invaded Israel killed and kidnapped its soldiers for ransom, the Lebanese not only did not object, they supported Hezbullah. What would you have said if the Jewish National Front had crossed into Lebanese territory, murdered Lebanese citizens, and then took a pair of Lebanese soldiers prisoner and took them back to Israel, where the government provided them shelter? But one of the things that angers me most about Olmert's performance during the war is that he waged it haphazazardly from the air in a manner that was sure to kill more civilians than militants and had no chance of getting the soldiers back. I woud almost classify that as a war-crime (and definately classify it as stupidity) but that doesn't mean that Israel did not have the right to launch that war or that the Lebanese were innocent.
21. Olmert
Lebanese ,   Beirut   (05.01.07)
The peace loving people of Lebanon stand by the people of Israel to get rid of the fool Olmert who allowed Nasralla and hizballa to become stronger and gave them their so called divine victory. I cant believe Israel is allowing Nasralla to have victory parades and public appearances. what the hell happened to you? why havent you taken him out yet !?
22. Arrogant criminal
lila ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.01.07)
Making those soldiers try to take the Litani River after a cease-fire had been agreed upon was nothing short of murder. Are you not ashamed of yourself, Olmert, your stinky cigar-chomping, arrogant criminal? Time for a resignation and a trial.
23. What a country deserves...
christa ,   near Monaco   (05.01.07)
Who said that a country has the leaders which it deserves ? Well, that's it.
24. Olmert won't leave because no one will hire him elsewhere!

26. GEVE HIM A SECOND CHANCE
Tiporah Livni ,   Israel   (05.01.07)
ALL WE ARE SAYING ..........IS GIVE OLMERT A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T BE SO DRASTIC, HE WASN'T A GENERAL, HE DOESN'T HAVE WAR EXPERIENCE. HE IS LEARNIG. HE FLUNK THE FIRST WAR, BUT IT WAS THE FIRST, MAYBE THE SECOND ONE HE WILL DO BETTER, AND EVEN BETTER DURING THE THIRD AND FOUTH WARS, AND MAYBE, AFTER HE AQUIRE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE, HE COULD WIN ONE. DON'T BE TO HARSH ON EHUD, HE WILL TRY HIS BEST DURING THE NEXT WAR THIS SUMMER. TZIPORA
27. Olmert,you proved once again your's avaricious nature
Avi ,   Israel   (05.01.07)
Your lack of decision and indetermined actions led us to one of the disastrous wars that will unfortunately will echo for generations. This country cannot shoulder such leaders if it wants to continue to exist. By the way I think it doesn't do good to the Harvard University that such a failure got enrolled and admitted to their rows, for if you are looking for tarnishing your name this is the way to do it ...
28. All of next leaders are going to be losers in Israel
Jane ,   Israel   (05.01.07)
29. criminal trial
Michael Ben raphael ,   Tel Aviv   (05.01.07)
If i were one of the members of a bereaved family, i would join up with others to prosecute Olmert and Peretz for gross negligence in the death of many soldiers and civilians. That peretz has not immediately resigned as defense minister, is putting Israel at continued risk. The supreme court needs to order the immediate resignation of these two ...........(the shabak may arrest me if i write the word that best describe these bastards). I beg, for the sake and future of the Jewish people, for the supreme court to take action before it is too late. I personally shall never forgive them or forget.
30. Great news!
Ahmed Moussaoui ,   usa   (05.01.07)
I am glad Olmert is staying in office. This is very promising. I mean for us, for sure. Now we can rest assured that the leader of our enemy is and will stay the most stupid and ignorant PM ever. You know there is something the Winograd commission ignored or purposly didn't mention, and it is the fact that Olmert declared that the war was planned four months before it happened. The commission says he did not have a plan, whil he, himslef, admitted he had a plan ready four months ahead of the first day of the war, and still he miserably failed. See how lucky we are? "Israel" has, and will keep having, a PM who cannot win even a well planned war. I was hoping he will stay in charge. Now I'm glad he won't disappoint me :)
