Kadima officials looking for 'honorable way out for PM'    Attila Somfalvi
1. KADIMA Should Resign, Not Just Olmert.
And take the Labour Party with you. If anything, this leadership failure is a failure of our political parties not just individuals. There are two componants in this disaster: 1. LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY 2. PUBLIC APATHY FOR ELECTORAL REFORM Without structural changes in our political system, we will continue on the same course - incompetant political hacks running the country into the ground.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.01.07)
2. Just an Early Election will do :) and to the Trade Minister
to the Trade Minister of Israel. Please export the Israeli Home Grown Produce to Singapore. Export Isareli Goods to Singapore. We want to buy Isareli Products and Produce Please. :))
ben ,   singapore   (05.01.07)
3. Olmert
This man is the weakest and most deluded person to be the Israeli PM. He is no leader and should go as soon as possible
Dan   (05.01.07)
4. NoNoNo! One goes - all goes! Enough with Kadima!
The people of Israel do not want to see any of their faces anymore. Enough with Kadima and Labor. Get out of there NOW! New elections immediately.

7. Who in the new generation is ready to lead
Nu? Who is going to replace the old gaurd? Who has the qualifications to lead with sound strategic and tactical sense and with strong non partisan backing? Only one. And this leader is...?

9. To# 1: What do you want a Labor Government or worse Bibi?
How can there be electoral reform when it would cost most of our good for nothing MK's their jobs? Only the Knesset can implemnent reform. An election now wouldn't change a thing. The present lot would return in the next Knesset. Olmert MUST resign. Peretz too. Peres is too old and has never been polular. I know that she is a memeber of Olmert's failure of a Government, but let's give Tzipi Livni a chance. Golda was a good PM. Maybe Livni would also make cookies so we don't go around with food in our tummies when we go to war. Accountablity, yes, well this is Israel. I heard the new Commissioner of Police give us his promise to fix things in law enforcement. Ha, ha! I am not holding my breath!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.01.07)

12. Mr. Olmret, Go in full walk to make peace you are the
Elected PM and you know the good for them. If you don't do and acheive it no one will and they will instable, unsecure situation never go way. you didn't care about the Polls, you want the best for them, go do it acheive and then walk away, if they come to praise you don't listen to them. because you just wanted to work and do a good one. Good luck.
Simon Mohammed ,   Falls Church VA USA   (05.01.07)
13. HONORABLE!!
Wow what a word for people who do not know the word, nor act accordingly. Olmert needs a swift kick in the butt and that is to good for him. If this sate had any real judges that would upheld the law , olmert should be sitting in jail, with at least half of his buddies. In one word most members are dishonorable and do not deserve any special treatment. Yet one has to apologize to the families who's children died in the last war.
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (05.01.07)
14. #7
someone very tough and decisive in the military, that is who! someone who doesn't have $$$$ interests through his post, but israel's security and existantialism interests. pure and simple! someone with a back bone who dances to his tune, not bushes and definitaly not the palestinians and their arab cronies.

15. Kadima was born out of a spirit of rebellion.
We all know how the once mighty Sharon bolted from Likud in rebellion to form the Kadima party. While Barrak was in power and was with clinton and arafat at camp david negotiating to give away the land, Sharon was huddled in his office reading the torah, and the book of psalms about how Hashem has an everlasting coventant with Israel. He was not afraid to fiercely protect the land and not give it away. He was not afraid to march on the temple mount nor what anyone thought about it. He was a good PM at one time, but alas was caught up in a corruption cover up and decided to deflect the lime light of that by giving away some of the land. It was as if satan himself entered him. All the members of Likud and other parties he persuaded to join him blindly followed him and most are now themselves caught in their own quicksand of troubles. When Israel did what Hashem told them to do, they enjoyed peace and prosperd greatly. When they were rebellios, even their weakest enemies were able to inflict great pain and sorrow on them. The most honorable thing the Kadima party could do is 1. Force Olmert out, and 2. dissolve it's self as a party. Learn from your leaders of the past. All of those who tried to give the land away are now either sleeping with their fathers, in a coma, forced out of office, or worse yet have refused to go and have made Israel to be the laughing stock of the region. Olmert should realize that pride always comes before a fall and fall he will.

16. IF THEY GIVE HIM A FEW MONTHS to resign it will be disaster.
We will enter another war, we will win that war and Olmert will get the credit for our blood and hard fighting.... and the country will forget what a miserable failure this government is! Go all now! Kadima, go "kadima" habayta!!!!!! now!!! We the people of Israel, your boss, demand it now!
j ,   jerusalem, israel   (05.01.07)
17. zevel ,go home!
oded   (05.01.07)
18. Olmert wasn't elected! He's the accidental PM
He should be jailed and indicted by the Israeli Supreme Court. He's making Israel look a laughing stock to the rest of the world...
Nannette ,   London, UK   (05.01.07)
19. A comment about the Media and Research
Why doesn't the Media analize facts BEFORE they happen ?Why let things happen for after having to fix them? We,B'H,have enough brains to do deep analizesBEFORE bads facts happen. We have History and brains in our side. They just must be used, and not only in developing soil researchs ;medical researchs;engineering researchs... Israel is already extraordinary in those fields and many more.It is missing research in History for PRACTICAL aims!
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (05.01.07)
20. Honorable thing to do is to resign now
In Japan, someone who lost face would fall on his sword. In the United States, one would resign, then go on the talk shows, and write a book. In Israel, who knows? The honorable and correct thing to do would be for unqualified leaders such as Olmert and Peretz to resign now. But that is not how they have behaved in the past. They have no shame, it seems. Israel needs leaders with integrity. Perhaps 'wanted ads' should be placed in the newspapers: "WANTED: Capable, honest leaders...Inexperienced politicians and party hacks need not apply." Kadima has succeeded in taking Israel back to a fight for survival, ala 1948. It's time for a change, and the masses must gather lawfully and peacefully but in huge numbers to insist on it.
Lee ,   New York   (05.01.07)
21. Olmert and Peretz should have gone long time ago.
This is late but it's happening. For Israel gets it's control back in the region she needs an upper hand and to gain it back as it was for 58 years, it will not be as easy. Olmert and Peretz should have gone long time ago and Livni is no better choice. Even Bibi can't do the JOB alone. Israel needs to fully evaluate her critical months ahead and she needs her most Loyal, Wisest and Bravest to take control. Enemy is not amature any more and defeating them is not a matter of challenge but Survival. A weak Israel has no FRIENDS. Tough days are ahead but this is the texture of our nation: to JUMP HIGH you need to go down a little.
Yaacov Israel Asher ,   New York, USA   (05.01.07)
22. Olmert, you need a rest. Move to Paris with Aliza.
malcolm   (05.01.07)
23. Back to the Stone Age
It's not Olmert that was cracking up under the pressure of office, it's Israel itself, badgered for 15 years by very astute, but powerless enemies. Hezbollah, Hamas, and Arafat's Fatah have hornsmoggled Israel as we say here. It' not Olmert stupid, it's Israel's timidity, reticence to go on the offensive, and banana republic mood (to the US). The US, Condi and Bush are pulling the strings attached to Israeli policy, from the Phalcon, to arming China, to dealing with India, and of course it's foreign policies. Who is better for Israel, Bibi, or Peres or Barak? This is not about Hezbollah (can be destroyed within minutes by bunker busters-Southern Lebanon can be made into a glass sheet if desired), but about guts. No Israeli has the chutspah to counter the US. That's the bottom line in all this foolishness.
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (05.01.07)
24. Honorable means harakiri
Don't do honorable! Transfer your stuff to New York and leave. There is no point to do harakiri (honorable).
Moishe ,   New York   (05.01.07)
25. #23 - It's the truth. How do you make them face it?
Glenn ,   Canada   (05.01.07)
26. No time left for an honourable exit
Olmert has had what, 8 months now to resign with dignity. He had a great opportunity to resign at the same time as Halutz, letting Israel wipe the whole slate clean. Israel's newly emboldened enemies are not going to wait a few months for this stupid man to salvage his pride. If they don't attack soon, they will use the next few months for war preparations, while Israel is still stuck trying to throw this bum out. After all this time, they're still waiting for the money to reinforce the northern defences. What the heck is going on? Resign now Olmert, if you truly care for the Israeli people, their confidence in their government and their ability to convincingly win the next war. This is an emergency, not a game or a chance for career advancement. But I bet you don't give a damn, do you? Think of it this way: at the moment, even a mannequin would have more popular support to be Prime Minister. If Olmert has a chance of regaining the public's trust, then a mannequin could convince Israel to trust it too.
Canadian Dude ,   Montreal, Canada   (05.01.07)
27. this is Sad
the gentelman (MR Sharon ) is wotnissing the demise of his ideology befor he dies .. is anyone among your polititian is learning .
Ali ,   Lobnan   (05.02.07)
28. How stupid u r!
How stupid u are all of u who are acting like aggressive dogs putting all shit of what happened in the last war on the shoulder of Olmert!! What a shame! If u watched the last war day by day u would know that the problem wasnt a goverment nor a man but goverments men and people! The unprepared army full of lazy people, sleeping where the enemy next door is preparing from years starting from when the genius Barak decided to leave lebanon like a runing chicken! See hizbala didnt get power suddenly when olmert took the power, its a long time ago where all the politician and the israeli people where sleeping! In fact it always goes like this finding a scapegoat for all the shi** we are in! Livni is better maybe? LOOOL a five years palestinian boy wont say what she said on CNN during the war and after it! or maybe the genius barak or netenyahu who had their shot and show us their wonders! maybe peres and maybe not! maybe we should wake him up first! or guess what anybody who is gonna succeed olmert wont make it coz the change should be wider to include the people too!
Better not to know ,   Even better   (05.02.07)
29. The honorable way out.
Give him a gun with one bullet. Actually to be truly honorable, give him a gun with three bullets, he can shoot Peres and Peretz before shooting himself.
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.02.07)
30. honor? olmert wants honor? why, all of a sudden?
