1. Olmert

Take the honourable way
2. Poll: Israelis want chocolate for breakfast
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.02.07)
Polls shmolls. People seem to forget that we live in a democracy. Then once they remember, Israelis seem to not know how democracy works. The Winograd Commission has spoken. If the Knesset has no confidence in the PM, then the elected reps of the country will say so and we'll go to elections and get a new PM. Zehoo. End of story.
3. Good results for ilmert ...
sk ,   USA   (05.02.07)
"A Yedioth Ahronoth poll carried out by the Dahaf institute found that 27 percent of the public would give Olmert another chance to mend the failures, while 72 percent think otherwise." He has strong Arab support, since we must expect that 20% of that 27% come from "Israeli Arabs."
4. all 3 in 1 go
oferdesade ,   israel   (05.02.07)

David E. ,   Jerusalem   (05.02.07)
According to this poll less than 5% of Jews want him. What is he stil doing in the office?
6. who are the 28% that want him to stay??? frightening.

7. Olmert clinging onto power!
peter mochama ,   nairobi kenya   (05.02.07)
what olmert is doing right now is typical of a third world dictator trying to cling to power at all cost. he has no interest of israel at heart: he has brought shame and disgrace to the nation. nuclear weapons cannot fire themselves, the IDF cannot command itself. so even if israel has superior weapons, without intelligent, experienced & skilled prime minister, defence minister and Chief of General staff, it will still be defeated by an army armed with stones and sticks. that is why Olmert must resign and apologize to the nation. i suggest it be a constitutional requirement that whoever occupies any of the three positions must have served in the IDF.
8. Does someone have to physically remove this guy from office?

9. Report or Poll not scientific
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.02.07)
The article does not say how many were polled, where, margin of error or any other facts that would make it legitimate. Was this done in Hifa or Tel Aviv, or in a Likud office? Come on we deserve better reporting.
10. Poll should have as
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.02.07)
11. bibi for pm
Zaza ,   ishar'k'el (israel)   (05.02.07)

12. Finally!
Me ,   Lebanon   (05.02.07)
Lets see whos next, I vote for Livni And then she'll stay for a year or so, then another one. I suggest the israelies elect a new prime minister every quarter
13. Lies, damned lies, and statistics
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.02.07)
This article and the opinion poll the article is about are a perfect example of the use of accurate statistics to promote an inaccurate argument. By not using our brains too much, we can immediate conclude from the poll results that Olmert obviously must be turfed out. This is reflected in the humoungous number of news articles on every Israeli news site and in a large number of talkbacks, blogs and forum comments. However, it's not a quantum leap from poll results to "obvious" conclusions. Countries should not be run by opinion polls, since the results simply reflect the mood of the day. That's why polls done over long periods of time show the changing trend in the mood of the people who answer the pollsters' questions. You can easily conclude the opposite: 65 percent say he should resign immediately, but less than half of those polled said somebody else might have done a better job. That means that the majority want him out, but at the same time they can't think of anybody else who could do a better job. However, the pollsters didn't ask the question: "If there is nobody else who could do a better job than Olmert, would you want Olmert to stay in office or turf him out and replace him with somebody who may do a worse job?" Ergo, statistics and damned lies.
14. to #6 Very, very
Itzik ,   Haifa   (05.02.07)
I agree. There is NOTHG in the report that we already knew. Only newspapers, political analysts, and experts did not knew the report. There is nothing to study. I believe Olmert, Livni, Peres, Peretz, Ayalon and others knew very well what is the problem but played with the stupid public. Just 7 days ago Barnea was telling that Olmert is something like GOD. Now his new GOD is Livni.
15. Did US sold Israel behind closed doors ?
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (05.02.07)
A question in my mind today that What is The US 's responsibility about todays Israel's political Life ! Did US sold Israel in some ways ? or just a strategy for New Middle East ? *** The US is the only world power, right ? Israel's best friend ! and Israel is having her worst days ! Is this a tactic to put Islam world down in a few steps ? first let Israel down as today ( let The Islam world be happy) second; put The Islam world down and make Israel happy this time. THAN ! NEW MIDDLE EAST US's HAPPY TIME ! How about Iran ? Is She having her good days or bad days in today ? I believe The US wont lose in a few more centuries. Somethimes Israel will lose, somethimes The Islam world BUT THE US ALWAYS WIN !!! Atilla Karagözoğlu

(05.02.07)
and put terrorists in their places. In fact, your country has a puppet government for world appearances only.
17. To ME, Lebanon
Alan ,   USA   (05.02.07)
HAHAHA Look who's talking. At least we give a chance for democracy to work its way. Look at your country before talking. They are killing politicians for power. You dont even know who is in power. Do me a favor spend sometime trying to fix your problems, before critisizing other people's problems.
18. #15
giant slayer ,   Oregon, USA   (05.02.07)
Listen up Hun! You wouldn't know a snake if it bit you. There is a serpant loose in the world. America is not G-D! They just think they are. There is a much greater power on the throne of this universe.
19. The report is not scientific
Alexander ,   Herzliya - Israel   (05.02.07)
I agree, the report is not scientific. When, where and how was the poll conducted and WHO organized it? Anyway, I really hope there will be new elections because I can't stand looking at Tzipi Livni's face either. I hope Netanyahu will do a better job. Please remember Netanyahu: Less talk and more action this time. I know you like giving fancy speeches at fancy places, wearing fancy suits and smiling and smirking. We know that. However, I'm not interested in your smiles or smirks. IF THERE IS NO ACTION, YOU ARE OUT AS WELL BIBI.
20. ohlmert
sas ,   israel   (05.02.07)
he MUST go home.
21. Netanyahu
Benjamin ,   Detroit USA   (05.02.07)
Netanyahu For pm! Olmert has failed we need a PM who knows how to run a country!
22. "Polls", anyone ask you? Why no demo in the North?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.03.07)
All I can say is that every day I am harassed by tele-marketing, and product surveys. I have never been asked "What you think of the Government, the PM, the Courts, the police or any other government body. So how are these polls conducted and who are the "privileged few" who get to express themselves? How many of you have had the “privilage”? Unlike most other Western Countries, in which viewers are encouraged to send in e-mails, text messages and faxes to express their views, Israeli program and news hosts are so egotistical and infatuated with their own voices they couldn’t care a damn about viewer opinion. Our TV News doesn't even have an e-mail address lest we might create more work for Gaddi and Yonit! By the way, where is the "voting" page on YnetNews? Its time our media realized, like our politicians, that they are too responsible to the people. Olmert MUST go and so must Amir Peretz. The people say so! Its a pity that the rally is only in Tel Aviv and that the North, which suffered the most, was not privileged enough to have a say in the area of the country most affected.
23. To #21 - You want Bibi, please take him!
David ,   Karmie, Israel   (05.03.07)
You said run a country. Please add the "i" - ruin.As the sick, the old and the handicapped! With all due respect to those who are not citizens of the State of Israel - butt out of our politics. You want to take part, then please come and live here, become citizens and vote. To those in the USA, Olmert, Peretz and Halutz screwed up big time, but the biggest screw up was George W. Bush's in not letting us finish the job! Want to throw stones, start at the Whitehouse!
24. #18....SNAKES
ATILLA KARAGOZOGLU   (05.03.07)

Rick Sheaffers ,   Miami Beach   (05.04.07)
