I suppose that a person who wants war doesn’t really understand what it is all about, especially if you are sitting on the other side of the globe and encouraging such an event. I do hope that we will be able to make peace in the future and build a strong middle east together rather than self destroying our self by the missiles and bombs that have made our life a hell. I never said I hated Jews, and no I am not a warmonger. On the contrary, I do call for peace all the time. The Art of War says that if you want peace, then be prepared for war. Any nation should be prepared for worst case scenarios, not for the intention to go out bombing countries like crazy (like what the US and Israel does). But to protect its own people from any potential situation which may arise. Although Syria did not directly intervene in the last Lebanese-Israeli war, it was very close to being pulled into it. If it wasn't militarily ready, it would've been devastating. Israel thinks of its interests and to protect its existence and citizens. Syria does exactly the same, and it has every right to do so. Syria has had an awful army since the USSR and Yugoslavia collapsed. It's weapons, hardware and machinery were extremely outdated. It's soldiers were a joke. It's entire military establishment was infested with corruption and backward thinking. All of that in a country where supposedly almost %70 of its annual expenditure went on the army!!! Now, things are becoming different. Bashar has promised his people reforms in many fields; on many levels. One of these fields happens to be the army. Syria is updating its defence systems, acquiring new hardware and weaponry and getting rid of outdated weapons Syria needs a massive restructuring in its military, and that's exactly what it is doing. That very restructuring is being viewed by Israel is "actions that cause much concern". Israel does not want Syria to have a modern army, or any other country or entity surrounding it for that matter (reminding you of the recent Saudi weapons deal which the US is begging Israel to OK), Israel wants to keep intimidating all of its neighbors continuously, and ruthlessly strike those who dare to have any sense of pride.

syria as well as iran and lebanon are free countries. we don't see any israeli ownership of these countries, as indeed we do not see israeli ownership of egypt and jordan. what occupation of syria or lebanon are you talking about? the golan heights? well, syria lost it when they attacked israel. so fair is fair. you don't attack and then go crying to the world to get what you lost back. syria used thew golan to fight israel and terrorize its citizens on a daily basis and this is why israel is refusing to grant this territory back. they fear that hizbullah will b e instilled there by bashar assad and this will posec a great risk to israelis living near or on the bottom of the golan. and this is why syria's rearmament should be taken seriously....even though they can never and will never win against the idf and this is a known fact, which i would like the syrian to take into serious account because, i am afraid, they'll suffer another severe humiliation, and this time, damascus will be reached as we almost did in the past. there is no reason for syria not iran to fight against israel. israel isn't occupying their land. if the palestinians and hizbullah (an iranian sent terrorist army) want to deal with israel, let them. without iran's support, the world knows that hizbullah as well as the plo, etc... will be scared rabbits hidinng in holes....the same as their leader nasrallah is doing just as we speak.
