Highway to hell    B. Michael
1. You should come see Howara
The other day on Howara road block (nablus) ...an ambulance came by with the driver, a man, and a nurse in the back also with an 8 year-old kid in the bed. the kid was very sick, and he was being transfered to a hospital in nablus, the kid was also hooked-up to an (I.V the bag that has a tube that goes into the vein). the merciful soldiers refused to let the ambulance through, and insisted that the man carried his kid out of the ambulance, and that the ambulance should go back, so the poor man carried his kid on his shoulder, and the I.V in his hand and got out of the ambulance , it does not end yet, the soldiers instructed him to go to the back of the line with his kid , the kid at this moment was un-conciuos. i was in the line with everyone else, and we stayed their along with the dad and the kid for two hours (in the sun), i have never seen a man cry so much............it was one of the most heart breaking seens i ever saw, half of the people on the road block had tears in there eyes, and some were trying to talk to the soldiers, NOTHING HELPED...... There is no mercy in this world any more.............. you will not believe how many times something like this happens, how does this kind of shit secure israel? some one explain that to me..........

2. ynet and fools......
ynet has a real interest in printing trash from fools yet censoring Jews truthful, honest feelings about such perspectives as occupation Yes there is occupation, it stretchs from the mediterrean to the tigris, and the occupiers... the mohammed-ites T he fool who wrote this opinion-article needs to go back to never-neverland
yaakov ,   Yesha   (05.09.07)
3. Awww, more enemy propaganda from Ynet
By now I fully expect jubilatory editorials the next time a friend of "B. Michael's" blows up at a Sbarro. Must the "evil occupation", you see.

4. highway to hell
The taxi cab driver was guilty of trying to screw the Israelis, this is in perfect accord with IDF security protocalls. He is lucky he wasn't shot.

dont feel sorry for these poor people.they are almost all jew haters and were put into this predicament because they were happy to see terrosists sneek into Israel and killl and maim jews.

8. If you can't say the word "Israel"
then you shouldn't write in YNET, hypocrite.
Zvi   (05.09.07)
9. B. Michael, you are right...
... the fence should be put down and free movement should be granted to all palestinians so the terrorists would be able to kill more easily Jews. Because what is worth a jewish life compared to the freedom of palestinian movement ? In your eyes, nothing !
ezra   (05.09.07)
10. a blind eye to an ugly truth
That ugly truth being that no car with Israeli license plates could drive on any local West Bank roads and not get shot at or gasoline bombed. So new roads had to be built that would not easily permit terrorist access to the traffic. But my major objection to this article is that it focuses on the distress Israel is causing the Palestinians ignoring the latters murderous intent towards everything Israeli. Any suggestion that Israel relax its control over movement in the West Bank prefers to see a more vulnerable Israel. When Quassam's start falling on Israel from the West Bank expect the Palestinians to present an even more heartbreaking picture of their worsened plight to the cameras - and this reporter will wag his finger at israel even more sternly.
Arn ,   Tel-Aviv   (05.09.07)
11. Ahem, "Atrocity"?
Gee, I feel SOOOO guilty every day that Arabs aren't blasting me to smithereens. A wall is an "Atrocity," and the gutters running with blood due to Arab psychopaths in 2002 is what, a "natural response to " [insert grievance here]

13. The same as
this young man judged at a court for murdering his parents . And his lawyer asks some pity for an orphan . They came into Israel , to murder , assassinate , throw bombs in buses , restaurants ; and then they are chocked by our protection measures . The same in Gaza , the UN is not welcome anymore they say . Their schools propage anti muslim ideas . Well if the UN leaves , who will feed them ? who will educate them ? If you are a criminal , you go to jail . If you do not denounce terrorists , if you support them , you are also to blame , and it's your own fault if you have some problems .
charles ,   petach tikva   (05.09.07)
14. To B. Michael
I applaud you for your courage. Yet, this example is not unique. this is the case in all west bank checkppoints. It is a calculated group punishment and humilation that does not distinguish old or sick..etc
Jasmin   (05.09.07)
15. to 11 and 12
I tried my best not to respond to your ignorance, but i just could not resist!! west bank is an occupied land 1967accoring to international law, you should get the hell out and leave the poor people live peacefully. thats how simple it is!! can you tell me why IDF is still there, why settlements are in villages in tulkarm, jenin....etc. if you think palis are terrorists then while build your houses around them!!! in 1948 you kicked them out of Jafa and haifa, and now what? and do u think that daily humilationan could lead to anything good?!! i pity you
jasmin   (05.09.07)
16. The easy highway out of hell
The road out of hell is simple, and would only take a few months to pave. The Palestinian government declares an end to armed attacks against Israelis, and calls on the Israeli people for peace and a return to the negotiating table. The Palestinians ask the Israelis to support tearing down the wall after 4 months of total cessation of kassam rocket attacks, shootings, rock throwings, molotov cocktail throwings, and suicide bombings. What does B Michael think would be the reaction of the Israeli population if that happened? Of course we'd all support removing the wall (some of us actually do already). However, the reality is that Hamas does not want peace and has declared that "military resistance" will continue forever. Thus, the Palestinians have indeed paved their own highway to hell. If they don't want to use it, let them pave a new road to peace.

17. thank god
all of us living in israel should say thank God that there is this checkpoint and all the other ones, we need them.
jo ,   israel   (05.09.07)
18. highway to hell
it's pretty simple - if the pals stopped trying to kill the israelis every second of the day there would be no need for walls & border crossings. since they have a love of killing israelis it's the least of inconviniences.
scott ,   USA   (05.09.07)
19. Abdel, Jasmin and B. Michael think we're stupid
The "Palestinians" including Abdel and Jasmin democratically elected Hamas to rule. The "Palestinians" are smart people who knew exactly what they voted for, see articles 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 28, 32, 34 and 35 of the Hamas charter (http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/mideast/hamas.htm) Abdel, Jasmin and B. Michael must think everyone is stupid.
yosef ,   tel aviv   (05.09.07)
20. If you want to hate, hate 100%...
These "palestinians" that suffer and wait in line...what are they waiting for? getting to work? medical attention? Since you hate Israel so much, do as you preach...STAY OUT OF ISRAEL...GET HAMAS TO GIVE YOU JOBS AND PAYCHECKS...oh...i forgot... All of the BILLIONS of dollars that flow into that "refugee camp" (yeah, right) of yours goes to weapons, not infrastructure, food, medical assistance... You voted for these terrorists, live with them...I repeat...since you HATE Israel so much, STAY OUT...both sides will be better off.

21. to Jasmine #15
You say that the West Bank is an occupied land since 1967 according to international law. That is what you wish to believe, I know, but the truth is that the UN and international law never recognized the West Bank as Jordanian territory. The Jordanian British trained Arab Legions took over the West Bank militarily and remained there when the fighting stopped in '48. Again, it was never ever recognized by any international body as belonging to Jordan so Israel's presence there is just as legitimate as Jordan's was - perhaps even more legitimate.
Arn ,   Tel-Aviv   (05.09.07)
22. to No 9 Ezra and all morans!!
so what do u want to say is that jews life is more worthy than palestinians life? who told you that any human in this earth is more valuable than other? you make me sick
Jasmin   (05.09.07)
23. #1 abdell
i hear you. i understand you and i feel for you. however, you must also understand that israel has seen many ambulances used by terrorists to carry weapons and suicide bombings. israelis are so frightened and so much looking over their shoulders and they are so much on extreme and anxious high allert that their feelings arec already disensitized to anyone others' pain. and this is the outcome many years of intifada and terrorism attacks. they simply do not trust you, and when an innocent man with a sicj child arrives in an ambulance, these idf soldiers are frightened to let the ambulance go. how many times we have seen in videos a palestinian funeral with a dead person on the stretcher. then when the camera is gone, the dead man climbs out and walks away. it's a question of trust and mistrust. when you hit us so many times, we can't turn the other cheek for more slaps. you have brought this situation onto yourselves because you'd rather kill us than live peacefully and accept us as a nation and our right to exist in the country god, the un and the world gave us.
(05.09.07)
24. #1
and how does 1,000 qasaams, missiles and hundreds of suicide bombing plots and killing of jews secure a palestinian state? explain that to me too! how does killing us give you a state? how does bombing us give you security and freedom? explain that to me. now you know why check points are unfirtunatelly necessary. yes, it is horrible and unjust, but if you didn't committ your hainous crimes against israelis, these points would not have been necessary and you know that! we never had check points before the barrage of suicide bombing and neither a cement separation wall. but your terror brought us to the conclusion that both are necessary to save israel from you! and yes, this is for security and is our security against you.

25. Jasmin, calm down
You are no different from all the people you criticize here. I 'm appalled by some of the responses of my compatriots, they pray to Jewish God, yet show no understanding of mercy and compassion. But you're acting just like them, so maybe you should make yourself sick. Listen to Abdel's voice. He understands that our pain makes us do things that cause you pain, and the circle is endless. I wish Palestinian people could produce a leader with Abdel's ideas - then the bloodshed and the humiliation will stop. The soldiers who make you suffer at the roadblocks are the same kind of people who make us suffer through intifada and terrorist attacks. What do you expect - that we won't be angry? Understanding goes both ways.

I never wrote than any life is worth more than any other. But I stand by my point of view that a human life is worth more than any freedom of movement ! Try to understand talkbacks before insulting people. By the way, the right english word is morOn and not morAn.

27. Jasmin # 22
Where did Ezra tell that Jewish life is worth more than a Palestinian one ? I'll tell you , if he had said it , he was right . Your hamas [ or other ] abductors of Gilat Shalit want more than 500 palestinian prisoner to be relased in exchange of him . They say it by themselve , 1 Jew = 500 palestinians . Are those also morons in your eyes ? This was always so , exchanges were made , vast quantities of Arab detainees for a small number of Israelis . Who is sick here ? not any of those you call morons , it's a person called Jasmin , who needs a serious therapy .
charles ,   petach tikva   (05.09.07)
28. to No 19 yosef, tel aviv and all
and whats this has to do with what i said? hamas is considered extemest not only by you but also by palestinians. nonetheless, it is a resistance movement against occupation, whether u like it or not. that said, hamas does not represent the palestinian people or their rights. hamas was born in the 1980s only. the only representative of palis people is the PLO according to international law. and now, hamas does not rule, the unity governement is made up of all fractions, starting from from extreme left who don't even believe in god.

29. 23, 24
I never write stuff over here as a propoganda attempt to make israel look bad. i simply don't belive that is helpful to any side, world public opinion means nothing, and the israeli and palestinian public opinions are the only things that count. i write over here so that you can get a glimpse of the other side and maybe, just maybe understand what the situation is......notice in my post, i did not dwell on the point that the ambulance was sent back..... because i knew some of you would say ...oh they use them for terrorism (which is completely inaccurate by the way).......my point was the soldiers could have shown some mercy to the sick kid, and his crying dad....but alas. my friends, you have the right to defend your citizens, but, your indiscriminate collective punishment policy, and unneeded cruelty makes the situation worst. the majority of these road blocks only punish the population, therefore make them hell-bent on punishing you back....as the pressure keeps on building up, our side becomes more dangerous and fanatic, and your side becomes more violent, and fanatic also....it is a very linear equation, but no one uses their heads any more........ collective punishment and guilt by association are very slippery slopes, we could justify anything using that........
Abdel ,   Nablus, Palestine   (05.09.07)

thanks for your reasoned, humane posts. I fowarded this article to many friends in the states to give them a little info on what goes on here as well as the fanatic talkbacks from both sides so Americans can see the fantaticism that holds both sides hostage.
