1. Please Please D-O-N-T respond to Kassys. Heres why....
Alan ,   SA   (05.16.07)
Hamas&Fatah are killing each other (and trying to kill the Egyptian Mediators according to Y Net breaking News) IDF couldnt do a better job than Pals are doing NOW. Casualties in Gaza and World Opinion of the Noble Gazans are doing just fine without the IDF. Lets face it , the IDF couldnt do better. Let all see who Israel has to deal with .The Pals want Israel to enter Gaza so that they can re unite against the Zionist Entity. Dont do it !!
2. To no 1
Y ,   N   (05.16.07)
I couldnt say it better myself. Israel needs to stay out of the palis internal struggle
3. #1 and #2 I agree, so we'll just keep firing qassams :)
Palestinian   (05.16.07)
4. #1 & #2
Eli ,   USA   (05.16.07)
Exactly- Hamas wants Israel to attack on their terms and timeline to help solidify their power. No reason for Israel to act on terms indirectly dictated by Hamas
5. Indict The Regime For GRAVE Dereliction To Protect
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (05.16.07)
The regime is telling its citizens- to hell with all of you. The Jewish citizens should be telling the regime - WE WILL BRING YOU DOWN!
6. Mubarak says Pals crossed Red Line& top Egyptian woundedGZ
Alan ,   SA   (05.16.07)
Why stop the Hamas&Fatah baddies digging their own Graves. I agree that Israel (DESPITE SDEROT and OTHER HITS) must keep cool and let the Gazans stew in their own poo. The World TV is getting a cram course in thePAL wickedness with kidnapping Johnson et al ,killing each other &running Gaza into the ground after Israel withdrew . Even DARFUR shows how Arabs expect to be allowed to kill our Black African Brothers.
7. Why avoid gaza
Korem ,   New York, USA   (05.16.07)
Even if Israel honors this "truce" by refusing to respond while under siege, the whole world will blame and claim Israel is opressing and occupying Gazan Palestinians. If you ask me there's no point NOT going in to take out launch sites.
8. To no 3
Y ,   N   (05.16.07)
Israel just have to wait for the right moment and then the entire israeli air force should blow you away. Not many places you can hide in Gaza when an entire F-15I squadron attacks you.
9. why are you wrong ?
cordier   (05.16.07)
Olmerts government has let during six month palestinians bomb sderot and arming themself without doing anything. Olmert harden the army actiivty so cautiously than 2000 kassam, 300 wounded and one hundred israelis killed and six month later maybe he will let Tsahal kill one or two terrorists a week and advance ten meters in gazza to make a buffer zone... Olmert can do more than nothing, i don t ask him to reoccupy gazza...Unluckily Olmert has chosen his path, he plays with the life of israelis using propaganda (i doubt that Hamas want to be killed by tsahal and an invasion !!! Be serious !!!! It is cause they known that Olmert doesn't beat anybody that they bomb, do you think that last year Hizbullah would have bombed israel if they had known that israel would respond ? Nasrallah himself has said that no, Nasrallah thought exactly what hamas think now, Why hamas has said that if israel invade they will kill shalit ? is it because they want an invasion ?....) Dont be idiot
10. EVACUATE SDEROT'S CHILDREN NOW!
DEBRA ,   USA   (05.16.07)
11. Can't depend on Weak and Corrupt Leaders
Sarah ,   Toronto   (05.16.07)
12. IDF SHOULD PUT LAND MINDS FROM WHERE KASSAM ARE FIRED.
MIKE HAMEN ,   usa   (05.16.07)
IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
13. Israel's end is near
Gary A. MD ,   Boston USA   (05.16.07)
Unfortunately Israel is now led by two of dumbest, most pathetic individuals of all time - Olmert & Peretz. They are 2 disgraceful human beings and they are going to allow the destruction of Israel. I seriously doubt Israel will exist in 10 years. How sad that Israel's greatest enemy are it's leaders.

and we and the world will continue watching the great palis make a laughing stock of themselves, create horrenduous image publicity about themselves, kill each other continuously (no big deal. you are doing an excellent job for the idf). so, go on, send the qasams our way. what you fail to understand is that we can level all of you in one day, but take pity! and do not want to interfere in yourp ower struggles. this is yhour business, not ours. the longer you act like this, the longer the time will stretch to attain your own state. you people are a joke, have always been a joke and will remain so forever. people around the globe look at you as charity cases, unintelligent and backwards and you proove all the above by acting tghe way you do inside your territories. oh, i forgot....the joooooos are to blame! not!

(05.16.07)
yes, there is inaction by our government, but let's kust step aside for one single minute to reflect on why. i believe that the first talkbacks got it right. we cannot act and bring them together as a unified force against us. the best thing to do for these people would be to retaliate with a heavy hand right now. this is what they want and they have been baiting israel now for a long time. if killing each other goes on without israeli interference, even if more kassams rain on sderot, we should not go into the strip. this is what they are waiting for. it is a child's play to them. we go in, kill them, attack them and all of a sudden they stop the inter killing and focus on us. and when we act and some of them die at the idf hands, then they can internationally point their fingers at israel and it will ensure censor, as always. theirs is a political media war against israel and they never mind using tgheir citizens and killing them for the media. israel will be a fool to retaliate. stay put and just watch. don't do a thing. letting them behave in this way is as we speak turning world opinion against them and this is our best defense.
17. Why are TBs focusing on "world opinion"?
sk ,   USA   (05.16.07)
For example, "you people are a joke, have always been a joke and will remain so forever. people around the globe look at you as charity cases, unintelligent and backwards and you proove all the above by acting tghe way you do inside your territories. " My guess (which may be in error) was that #3 was no Pal, but a Jew with a brain. Regardless, #3 is right. Don't attack the messenger.
18. Attacking Gaza
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.16.07)
Come on everyone, stop arguing! You know that Oldmerd and Peretz need to ask mother may I to father USA.
19. Playing Chicken or With Fire?
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (05.16.07)
Israel is playing for time, by it's lack of a real response. However, I dont' know why? It has enough artillery pieces to destroy every PA city in the Strip, AND W. Bank, if it chose. It is showing the same restraint as it did in Southern Lebanon, trying to avoid civilian casualties. As in Iraq, with the US on the defensive, Israel is taking 1 stop fwd, 2 steps back. I'm sure Condi is telling Olmert, "Hey guys, we know it's painful, but don't provoke a worse situation, keep your cool", we need Arab oil flowing..and besides Iran is about to test an atomic bomb". "Don't throw oil into this fire". Sure, give me a break. How many Jews will die before Israel gets the message? This is a continuing war of survival, and the PA is playing and winning "chicken".
20. Alan, Y, and Eli, and "defense establishment sources" ...
sk ,   USA   (05.16.07)
are wrong. (Self-censored version.) --------- "Extreme Israeli activity will serve Hamas' interests," one defense establishment source said, "therefore we should put a lot of thought into our actions so that we don’t regret them in the future." ---- While reading the article, I was waiting for someone to start blabbing about not wanting to "strengthen Hamas." This is nonsense: Fatah and Hamas are equally terroristic, and distinguishing between them strengthens terror by legitimating Fatah. Some might take comfort from the impression that they have control over the situation, but this is false comfort. Isn't this obvious from Oslo-on? Whoever triumphs (Hamas or Fatah) will factor in Israeli inaction. Alan & Y, the IDF COULD do a much better job than the Pals are doing now, for example, by cutting water, electricity. The IDF could send a drone over the "parliament" and flatten it. It could kill "good" and "bad" terrorists because ... they are TERRORISTS. Eli, Hamas may indeed want the IDF to launch a ground invasion, and the incompetent generals may not be able to launch one this moment. More likely, the incompetent political echelon wants to avoid another disaster. But this does not mean that the IDF should do nothing or can do nothing. No, it should already have combined ground and air plans in the works. Until the plans are finalized, the IDF can easily bring Gaza to its knees. May I suggest that Israel stop being so clever?
21. Savages are emboldened
Brod ,   USA   (05.16.07)
The savages know by now that so long as the present Israeli government continues to be functioning, they can continue shooting rockets at Israel with impunity. They are getting emboldened in their aggressions. It is time a new Captain takes over the helm before the ship sinks.
22. #1 I disagree
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (05.16.07)
Doing nothing has only made the problem worst and has shown weakness. There is no deterance. At the very least Israel could cut off water and electricity to Gaza WE are the laughing stock of the world
23. Respond strongly, but stay out.
David ,   Israel   (05.16.07)
This isn't because I don't want Gaza back - its because they're eating each other alive without us. Use aircraft and artillery (much) more aggressively and let them weaken themselves - and what they've been building up - before we put our boots on the ground and our boys in harm's way.
24. #13 (how apropo) Doom Sayer
Esther ,   Ofarim, Israel   (05.16.07)
We may have some morons on top right now, but Israel is a lot stronger than that. We will overcome this as well. You, sitting in your cushy Boston office prescribing Aspirin wouldn't understand that.
25. #20 sk
Eli ,   USA   (05.16.07)
I hear your arguments sk, and I'm not sure we're in total disagreement. I just think it's a matter of timing, and the timing should be Israel's - when Hamas least expects an attack, not when they most do. Wait till the rocket fire calms down and the Pals are less on edge, less in a defensive posture, then attack.
26. #13 - silliness! Peretz will be gone in a few days
redmike ,   tel aviv and london   (05.16.07)
and Olmert's lot is sealed. What is this ten year nonsense ? I emotionally feel like striking back with a heavy hand (I voted for Lieberman) but there is much to be said for not playing Hamas's game. When was the last suicide bombing here? Far fewer people have been killed here by terrorists than for many years. I am saddened by the kassams falling on Sderot but they are no threat to Israel. And Hezbullah didn't step one meter into Israel ! A sense of proportion is called for. - Mike
27. Over 40 Terros killed,Egypt red line Xed-Could IL do better?
Alan ,   SA   (05.16.07)
If Israel did this damage the Security council and every Israel hater in the world would be up in arms . Keep out of this as long as possible . Wonderful results today !!
28. Alan (27), so you buy that nonsense about the "red line"?
sk ,   USA   (05.16.07)
This is theater, Alan. "Over twenty rockets landed in Israel Tuesday night. One rocket directly hit a home, injuring a 45-year-old woman and her son." Alan, could Israel have done better?!
