Build 5 room Apartments for them, make the Israeli Govt pay 3/4 the cost. I note for the many homeless who dont have decent house.Tent living for Shavuot is OK :) Arcady, I thank you :)
4. Thanks Gaydamak
Michael   (05.22.07)
In 2005, the Israeli government said we know what we are doing by pulling out of the philadelphia corridor and Gaza. Anyone who question was arebelrouse. now, 2007, still the "All Knowing" Elite still have no solution for their imcompetence. In this case Gaydamak is doing something and what does the Government and the elite do? worse than nothing, they attack Gaydamak for doing something about their mess. Well, Thank You Gaydamak be strong.

6. Good intentions, BUT...
marty ,   usa   (05.22.07)
Intentions are great but what about reality. My family can not leave Sderot. First of all, they have jobs. If they leave, even for a few days, they will no longer have a job to return to. This has been made clear. Additionally, all of these hotel trips, camp trips, etc are for those with money or connections. The average working stiff has no ability to participate. Tent cities, Eilat hotels make great headlines but the majority of Sderots residents can not participate.
7. uh oh, he's at it again

I truly have a hard time denying myself the luxury of examining his motives for that ulterior motive my gut (and political instincts) warn me are bubbling close to the surface. However the good that is the result outstripped his goal (of proving himself man of the people??). That the elites feel the same as I do , yet continue their inaction only to wake up for the occasional criticisms of arcadi is indicative of their attitude towards running this govt in to the ground. "If I cant pull of a PR stunt like him, then he shouldn't be able to either" . Arcadi, fund a civic revolt that will march into this Knesset while in session, arrest all and one, reinstate military leaders that have proven their capability's, solve the current threat from Gaza, then hold national elections from scratch.
8. Bring it on!
Molly Livingstone ,   Jerusalem   (05.22.07)
Not only will I as a resident welcome citizens of Sderot, but I'll bring them cookies and whatever it is they need. I was in Sderot on Sunday and as I entered the City Center we pass the sign, "Welcome to Sderot," I looked out the car window and saw a boy with his dog running with the pace of fear in each step. I rolled down the window and heard "booommm." As an American and new immigrant, I have never had a welcoming like that in my life! I feel sick to know our citizens are under attack and the government chooses to do nothing and instead makes their choice to play a political game. Who cares what Gaydamak's intentions are- the point is he is helping and using his money wisely. To the government and especially to Olmert I say, YOUR POLITICAL GAME IS JUST AS DANGEROUS AS THE KASSAMS. Each one of you is selfish and clearly thinking only of your own needs. Thank you Olmert for your surprise visit to Sderot- but no one is really surprised at your cowardly attempt to ease fears and your approval rating. And to all the other members of the Knesset who think they do justice in fighting Olmert's reign- you too are a coward who has yet to show any true leadership or strength. Olmert states that there is no solution to the Kassams- he couldn't be farther from the truth- but then again that is what he is known for- lies upon lies. If anyone wants to make a difference they have to keep the citizens safe and not just talk about it- the organization Operation LifeShield has recently built transportable shelters and have dozens waiting in the factory for the government or people of wealth to put their money where there mouth is. Or better said, the heart is not far from the pocket book. If you really care then show it. If you really care then do it. And if you really care then pitch a tent with the citizens of Sderot- because they are the citizens of Israel and your people.
9. WHY NOT FUND A WAR TO END THE KASSAMS? end

Once again MR Gaydamak answers the cries of those in distress, last suumer it was the residents of the North that called on his help, now it is the residents of Sderot that need him. The people in both areas are lucky to have someone willing to come to their aid so quickly.Unlike the government which seems to be disorganized as usual. There is no reason why the government could not have done what Mr Gaydamak is doing, the plans should have been drawn up already just incase there was a need for it, just like they should have had those plans last summer during the Lebanon war. Plans need to be drawn up ahead of time for all senerios so that the people of an area are not left to fend for themselves, and to prevent the government from being caught with their pants down, and then having to play a game of catch up and try to figure out how to help the poeple. There is an old BOY SCOUT Motto that the Government needs to follow, BE PREPARED FOR EVERY CONTIGENCY!

i believe that the only way our government and for that matter, our country can continue to survive in face of this monster next door is to have a miliotary government. most key positions such as defense, internal issues, should be given to highly respected military generals and officials with extensive military success in the field and knowhow about how to protect the country during war. ellecting elites to the government without a shed of political/military saavy will doom us. we need men that can forsee each and every action by the arab nations and act decisively and appropriately for the security of israel and all its residents.
12. the last man
(05.23.07)
that should lead our country is olmert, whose sons have quit and ran, never serving, never giving of themselves to the country. well, you know what one says.....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. this kind of man, this kind of father is a shame on israel together with his run away family. while his sons are enjoying the usa or wherever they are, idf and citizens are dying and risking their lives so that this absurd leader can continue staying in power. get him out. out of there now before he sells you all.

For your information : A. Gaydamac, owner of five (!) different passports, is, apart from being a demagogue, wanted for crimes as arms trafficking, tax evasion and money laundring. He fled France after an arrest warrant was issued on 06.12.2000for his part in 'Angolagate', the arms trafficking ring which sold weapons to the brutal regime of Angola's president Dos Santos, from 1993 to 2000. The French trial will start in 2008. Meanwhile he's also under investigation in Israel for money laundring. An (alleged) arms trafficker being applauded as a hero in Israel ... sounds strange to me. Regards
14. to # : he did fund a war already
Charles ,   Ashkelon, Israel   (05.23.07)
And did he build a tent city for the Angolan victims?

I pay taxes. So do you. Our taxes are budgeted to run the country and take care of its daily and emergency needs. Residents of Sderot require the help of those taxes RIGHT NOW - for the safety of their lives. Gaydamak should be saving his limited funds for a day when our government doesn't have enough taxes to respond to an emergency. Otherwise, he should join the rest of us - as an equal citizen - and protest, demand and move democracy forward.
16. if only Olmert worked as hard at stopping the Kassams as

Unfortunately the sheep are only impressed by the thief's money but seem to be blind of the devious methods he used to achieve his fortune . Will they wake up before he becomes a member of our illustrious ruling gang of thieves. The bannana replublics have a lot to learn from us
