61. Please, not in Jerusalem
Nina   (05.30.07)
doing this in Jerusalem creates animosity by many people of all religions and make the gay community enemy of society. why should we heart so many peoples feelings? we boast to be more sensitive while acting fanatically.
62. spiritual terrorism
Lea de Lange ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.30.07)
Must we really have more wars, earthquakes ? Do those people who call themselves "proud" have no pride, no respect, no culture, no G'd? Do we really need this kind of spiritual terrorism?
63. israel a rebellious house
peter mochama ,   nairobi kenya   (05.30.07)
it amazes me how jews quickly forget God's mercies to them throughout the centuries and revert to blasphemous behavious as homosexuality. even after the miraculous crossing of the red sea they still turned away from God and sinned. the jewish state as we know it is one of the modern miracles. its existence since 1948 is a real miracle that no one can explain. they cannot see the hand of God guiding and protecting all the way. they think it is their millitary might...but it is the mighty hand of God which keeps Israel breathing. may God tough the government of israel to come back to the presence of God and repent for this evil they have allowed in the streets of the Holy City Jerusalem.
64. #4: SHAS should help xtian zionists?
hizki ,   germany   (05.30.07)
It is amusing that SHAS should act in order to appease the sensitivities of xtian zionists, if you yhink about it. If SHAS were to oppose this it would be becuase it tramples on torah religious values. At any rate i doubt a gay parade will harm xtian support for the state of isreal, which is based on their ideology. Peace between jews and muslims, and a common front against "religiously" motivated violence between jews and muslims might harm xtian zionist support. But that isn't an issue at the present time..
65. READ THE BIBLE AND WONDER
Michel SLONIMSKI ,   Paris, France   (05.30.07)
You read the Bible and wonder about all those incredible kings who seemed to actually enjoy going astray and indulging in idol-worship, immorality and murder... I am afraid we are now witnessing the same story again in modern Israel... What the old kings lacked, however, is the absolute bad taste of the present evil-doers : ads with tatooed kipah srugah gays embracing in front of Temple Mount ? Some ham sandwich is missing, through... Shame on you, ridiculous Minister of Tourism...
66. GAYS & HOLOCAUST
Michel SLONIMSKI ,   Paris, France   (05.30.07)
There never was a gay holocaust. Some gays were sent to camps as lawbreakers under a prenazi law (for sure, a tragic fate). None was sent directly to gas chambers. No mass scale arrest and murder of gays ever happened. Many SS people and camp supervisors were actually gay. Homosexual abuse of young camp inmates was prevalent.
67. the end is near...
jim jones... ,   jamestown, guyana   (05.30.07)
the end is near...forget where are the rabinical protests...but rather when i heard the...say "that it should be wiped of the map..." new that it was an ominous sign...that if the world could pallet such talk, unlike the responce to the one about the 72virgens...that it was a matter of time...before it actually comes to fruition in one shape or form...because the lord will just step aside & let it be...the fact that the great ynet media picked up this information & diseminated it...just says that this is in fact the writting on the wall...& will have nothing else to say to my co-workers in nyc, by quoteing another..."that they...brought it upon themselves..." & one other extra note, it is so sad enough that all the locals "middle eastern type people" today call themselves israelis...not jews...
68. God does not hate people who practice sexual immorality
Katharine ,   Jerusalem   (05.30.07)
However He is a Holy God and He does hate sin which separates people from relationship with Him. He loves people and has always provided ways for them to repent (turn) from their sins, to receive forgiveness from them and to be brought back into a right relationship to Him as their father. We MUST learn to differentiate in the the same way. To love people, BUT to hate sins - especially admitting our own :) People trapped in sexual sin have been hated and ostracised by society for too long. In reaction to this extreme, we now have tolerance for anything, including immoral lifestyles and a religion that seeks the destruction of our very nation. (AKA political correctness.) Lets learn to distinguish between sin, and the hurting people trapped in that, and extend God's mercy and love to them.
69. Hysteria over nothing !!
Karen ,   Munich   (05.30.07)
Absolutely ridiculous - all this fuss - gay tourists will be a godsend to Jerusalem (no pun intended!) - its 2007 not the Dark Ages - get over it and get a life you moralistic religious complainers !!
70. 66 FYI
Bertold ,   Hungary   (05.30.07)
Please check out this page if you want to read and know more about the subject.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Gays_during_the_Holocaust
71. Brod #56
Keren ,   SP-Israel   (05.30.07)
Well Brod,if it would chase away those ridiculous christian pilgrims, carrying those heavy crosses and singing "Jerusalem,Jerusalem,I love you" (or something similar),from our Holy Israel, the gays would have at least some merit .
72. Precious victimhood
Aviva ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.30.07)
Because some homosexuals were killed during the Holocaust, why is this a reason they should be pandered to? Polish Catholics and Evangelical Christians were rounded up and murdered during the Holocaust but there is no tourist campaign or "fellow victims compassion" for them.
73. bigger problems
rj ,   england   (05.30.07)
i think Israel and jews have bigger problems with terrorism than worrying if gays should be allowed festivals etc..in Jerusalem or any part of Israel...yes homosexuality is not to everyones taste (especially not my taste) but in my opinion a gay jew is just as decent as a straight jew....think how many jewish gay suicide bombers have we on the streets of the world...uuuummm none to my recollection...id rather jewish gays in Jerusalem than terrorists and arabs...
74. Dishonest Advertising
Martin Dun ,   Sydney, Australia   (05.30.07)
That photo of the two men in Jerusalem wearing yarmulkes and kissing, is SO dishonest . The dishonesty is in portraying the two men in yarmulkes, which implies that they are religious/observant Jews, yet they are openly violating at least 3 commandments from the Torah: 1) Homosexual behaviour as evidenced by their kissing 2) They are clean shaven, which violates the Biblical commandment of not using a razor 3) The tatoo (on one of the men's arms) is also a violation of Torah.
75. 74# Add "gneivat daat"
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (05.30.07)
76. #66
Mike ,   Vancouver   (05.31.07)
Were you at the holocaust? How do you know that? Also, abuse of young people (non adults) is pedeophilia ......not 'homosexual' abuse. If you can't even figure out what rape and pedeophilia is and how that occurs, then I highly doubt that your statement about Homosexuals and the holocaust is going to be wrong as well.
77. #72
Michael ,   Vancouver Canada   (05.31.07)
I can't believe that you think Gay people are being pandered to. Give me a break. You are the one making the leap of 'since gays were killed in the holocaust, let's let them come and visit Israel'. Everyone in this world is entitled to equal rights. God produced, created and maintains this world. I would leave the judgements as to who can visit where, hold what rights etc to the big guy upstairs. He has done very well at balancing narrow minded bigots with a world wide realization that human rights are God's will. Bigots will one day go the way of the Dodo....and they will be much more deserving of their fate then that poor bird.... Lighten up....we have too much darkness in the world as it is.
78. Its not tolerance - its pandering.
David ,   Israel   (05.31.07)
On the one hand we can tolerate our brothers who struggle with their sexuality and love them despite it as we do any other person who struggles not to violate a Torah prohibition. On the other hand, under no circumstances should we pander to them and offer to sanctify their lifestyle - and this is what the tourism ministry is effectively doing. Its counter to our traditions and dearly held and holy beliefs. God loves them. We love them. But we do not accept the flaunting of an abomination on holy ground.
79. Homophobes
Alena ,   Praha, Czech Rep.   (05.31.07)
Hey homophobes! I remember one stupid little man with a small moustache in the 30s, who agreed with you... Tolerance, people, tolerance. And love, don't your religions teach you to love and respect?
80. Jerusalem
Peter ,   Berlin, Germany   (06.01.07)
I don't think that you need to worry about Israel being overrun by gay an lesbian tourists. A campaign can only work if it delivers on its promise. And judging from the comments here Israel in NOT a save and appealing destinations for homosexual. On the contrary, it seems goverened by bigotry and religious intolerance.
81. the good the bad and the ugly
anonymous   (06.04.07)
Hope G-d doesn't get so mad that he takes it out on all of us.
82. who ever is on the Lords side come hither
voice of wilderness   (06.19.07)
It will be the time of great wrath to all who disobey the Law of Moses. God does not judge us , our own words will.
