To show their true equitable spirit, British "academics" should be required to boycott all countries with less-than-stellar human rights records, not just Israel. If what Ronnie Fraser says is true, which I am quite sure it is, Israel has very little to worry about. Maybe if the country produced no good science and had no reputable academia it would be a problem. But for a country its size the brilliance of the academia is amazing, and something most of Europe would probably be willing to cooperate with (or, a better term, exploit- but Israel benefits too). I just hope the Israelis come up with some great contributions as they always have without the help of the Brits or anyone else who wants to boycott, and then rub it in their faces. What is so idiotic about the boycott is that its declared intention is, by all practical means, unachievable. Israel cannot and will not end the occupation because of a lousy boycott. It will end it when there are no more Qassams being lobbed in Sderot or Ashkelon and no more threats from Hamas. Unlike in South Africa, where apartheid was created for no good reason at all and had no reason to continue, Israel has a very strong reason to continue its military presence and checkpoint system. You know the bad press North Korea gets, and justifiably so, in the USA? That is the same bad press Israel gets in British media, only even worse. Israel is made out to be a Mordor, an unapproachable, elusive, and unknown country, whose inner horrors are "being exposed" by the few brave journalists who are willing to venture to such dangerous waters. It's not the fault of the average Brit that they are being brainwashed like this. Having been to Israel 8 times and (since I am an Iraqi Jew and can disguise myself quite easily) having visited Gaza, I feel I know better than any of these British academia. Their irrelevance and ignorance is incredible.

Well. The lines in the prophecies and even in the bibles are changing centuries to centuries. I read a bible few years ago, which is around 300 years old and it was different here and there. Plus, G-D never told you personally what you're stating here, so, please stop this G-D and my bible says this and that. Don't give false, pale hopes to the citizens of Israel. Right now, Israel will be happy if she will survive another 3, maybe 5-10 years. There are many stronger and older nations then Israel. U.K. Germany, The Chinese Empire, or even my little home, Hungary. They survived almost thousand years or more and will survive, because they're not surrounded by enemies, whose are intended to destroy the country itself. Israel is completely surrounded and all of her neighbor is intended to destroy her, regardless they've right in this matter or not. After the U.S. is also weakening greatly, they will leave Israel alone soon, because they will not going to fight further for Israel, regardless what AIPAC wants (Personal note: AIPAC's acts are drifting this alliance right now toward it's sure end. If they wouldn't want to push the U.S. into wars, as Christians, they would gladly help and maybe would believe in your cause too, much better then now.). And without a strong ally and also a strong leader, because PM Olmert is not that strong at all, Israel will fail within few years. Israel is now quite weaker then the U.K. And if the U.K.s destiny is to fall on one day, in this case, Israel will fall much earlier. That's the sad fact.
