Netanyahu: As long as we stay in West Bank we're unbeatable     Lilach Shoval
31. Natanyahu
Bibi could have been a great PM, but alas the man has no spine strong enough. I would have him as Foreign Minister in a shot, he is great at that as long as he is not the one on whom the tough decision rests on. He may talk the talk but he doesnt walk the walk. He talks about Judea and samaria etc. yet it was he that gave up our peoples oldest heritage of hevron and also backtracked or subdued himself re Pollard. I like Bibi but I wont trust him at the helm, doesnt mean to say others are better they are all worse. But I do trust Moshe Feiglin of the Likud. He will be running in the primaries for Likuds leadership and Bibi will do much to try and undermine him. Its a pity Bibi didnt even try to prove himself by preventing the sin of Gush Katif, he didnt. He failed. He cant be trusted for he too will bow before the USA even if he wont have a brown nose by doing so. Pity great pity, Bibi you could have been so much more.

34. 1967 line as border
“We will demand the 1967 borders as a recognized non negotiated pre condition by Israel It is necessary to recognize the origins and the controlling aspect of the Islamic religious mindset. It is indisputable that, according to the teachings of the Koran, any land that has been under the dominance of an Islamic authority even for a short period, and lost in battle to the “infidel” (according to Islamic law, any person having any belief other than Islam is considered an infidel,) must be re-conquered by a Jihad, this Jihad has no time limit nor does Islamic law or the Koran allow any permanent peace treaty with any infidel country which in effect permanently surrenders any such territory to the Infidel. All the infidel can ever hope to achieve to cease hostilities by the Islamic jihad, is a Hunda which they consider as just a temporary cessation of hostilities. Since the believers of Islam theory consider Islam timeless, so a Hunda for a thousand years is acceptable, but the right to reignite the jihad at any time is predicated upon the belief that such battle can be won and the lands “Occupied by the Infidels” revert back to Islam rule. In understanding that Islamic religious theory, it brings into sharp focus the intractable demand by any Moslem country or by any leader chosen by a Moslem majority, that every inch of territory lost from the so called cease fire lines existing prior to 1967 must revert back to be under Islamic rule, it is irrelevant under what name or country such lands are called, that is why there was no demand for a separate Palestinian state between 1948 and 1967 as long as the dominant government authority has its basis in Islam .Jerusalem was ruled by Jordan Gaza by Egypt. To accede to such demand and believe for even a moment that the 1967 cease fire lines will produce a written, binding, and ever lasting enforceable peace treaty, is an illusion because the pre 1967 lands must also revert back to be ruled under Islam. . To accede to such demand and believe for even a moment that the 1967 cease fire lines will produce a cessation of the continual viperous venom espoused by the Islamic religious leaders in their weekly sermons, is also an illusion. To accede to such demand and believe for even a moment that the 1967 cease fire lines will produce a different curriculum and or a change of teaching material or books being taught in the Islamic learning centers, is also an illusion. To accede to such demand is a sure fire way to have a never ending continual agitation of inciting the Islamic masses to never surrender and continue their Jihad against Israel, Forgetting or even if we should discount that the conflict is driven by Islamic religious doctrine. the outcome of continual violence is guaranteed, since the Islamic world knows that any war perpetrated or initiated by them, has no long term detrimental consequences, since they have no respect for even their own populations lives, all they have to do is instituting what they call an intifada, keep up the terror regardless of their human losses demand a return of all losses as the price to put a temporary halt to their terrorist acts and with time they will be rewarded by having all loses to be returned. Islam is very aware that to attain victory all they really need is ONE yes only ONE victory and Israel will truly cease to be under a Jewish Government for the unforeseen future.

36. Bibi Is Right as Usual
To David L. You bring up some salient points, which, however, is not fully appreciative of the problems Israel faces. If leaving the W. Bank (and the Gaza Strip) resolved this 100 yr conflict, than the solution is obvious. BUT, look at Arab history. Every time Israel does vacate land, Arab militants take over, and use it as launching pads (Kassams, Katys, etc.). So, Israel builds a temporary (it says) wall. But Kassams are not intimidated, if the media in the West is (read todays LA Times-a very pro-Arab paper, hiding behind their claims of non-bias). The "Wall" is shown glaringly in Jerusalem..not the "fence" but the 20 foot (or more) "Wall". A picture is worth a 1,000 words obviously. This is Israel's quagmire, what to do to avoid another Jewish genocide in the future. Perhaps Bibi is correct. Israel should keep the high and some empty ground..and give the PALs enough space to rule themselves. Israel should NOT occupy large Arab populations..it's bad for the children. Jordan and Egypt can aid the PALs, whatever their status..they have plenty of EU and US money to spend. Bibi is right on all accounts. Forget Wye and Jericho and move on.

37. To Marcel (Florida) Right But....
To Marcel: Olmert will do what Bush and Condi DEMAND of them..move towards the so-called 2 state solution. My reasoning is the obvious: 2b in military credits to keep Israel's army state of the art, and technologically more advanced than it's enemies (supposedly). With Iran and Syria getting Russian arms (a more aggressive Russia made wealthy by oil prices), Hezbollah resupplied, and Hamas smuggling in weapons as I post, Israel needs at least one powerful friend. So, Israel is held hostage, just as it's soldiers are held captive..with little it can do. Maybe under a Bibi administration, Israel could test a few atomic bombs..and tell an outgoing Bush where to stick it. But then again, Obama is waiting in the wings with his defeatest and naive Democrats.

39. Typical left wing idealism
Israel cannot win by leaving the Arabs in the populated areas. Israel must control the entire Judea, Samaria and Gaza. If they are a problem then they need to leave. The Arabs should move to Arabia their homeland

46. Of course, no other nations gives up land in a war
If WB and Gaza are returned, then lebanon can give a piece of the south to Israel, Jordan can give up Western areas and Syria some of its western pieces to make up for the loss of land. Then everyone makes sacrifices. But wait, only Israel is asked sacrifice something. How f-cking convenient.

47. This is just tit for tat
arab nations expelled 1 million Jews , and they now live as do their offspring live in Israel. History has already been written. The Jews have Israel, now let's move on. If you insist on trying to take Israel, then Israel will need to fight back and it won't be pretty. The Jews will not back down to some bully groups who expect something for nothing. Your ancestors preached that the Jews would be pushed to the sea and told your families to leave Palestine. Now look at what happened. WE CAN'T REWRITE HISTORY. You have occupied Palestine, now Israel for too long and the Jews have it now. You have imposed apartheid on the Jewish people for too long, and Jews will not tolerate this any longer. The blacks in South Africa won out, and so will the Jews. You have oppressed the Jewish people too long. Now face the consequences.
