Ben-Gurion Airport strike cancelled     Eli Senyor
1. Pirate radio
As is normally the case in Israel, first a disaster needs to happen. Lives will be lost. Then a "committee of inquiry" will be set up. Everybody & his brother will then condemn the Pirate radio stations, the Government and ask for resignations. Unfortunately, the Government is currently impotent and is busy finding ways to hang on to power. It's high time they figured out that Prevention is better than Cure !

2. Pirate Stations
Unfortunately, there isn't anyone in the government who is willing to take a tand and shut down these pirate stations. They are mostly run by the religious people and and that appears to be a no no!! Thanks, Peter

3. Pirate Radio
Why haven't the police shut these pirate stations down? Is someone getting paid off? With the technologically advanced equipment availabe today, thepolice should be able to detect and define the locations of these stations.

4. Pirates of the middle east, part2
I am about to fly from The Netherlands to Israel, on Thursday morning, and arriving in Israel (I hope) later in the afternoon. Don't do this to me :)
Rini ,   Netherlands   (06.06.07)
5. RDF
Radio Direction Finders are old technology. They were used in the movie "ET". Remember? So just rent three vans. Buy three RDF units. Place the vans around the Ben- Gurion airport. Wait for the terrorists to turn on their radios and trilocate them. Then go get them; call in the police and have your staff place charges of "reckless endangerment" against them. Surely Mazuz will advise your agency on this.

6. Police were effective enough with A7
B"H A7 was taken off the airwaves when it was not broadcasting even from Israel, but rather in the ocean with a naval attack, to restrict freedom of speech. It was never provided a radio license since. Israel has a problem with the way it is licensing and enfocing radio allocations. The right wing has been trying to legislate a cleanup to no avail. Here is the consequence.

7. Pirate radio stations and Ben Gurion airport
The newspapers only report that pirate radio stations are disrupting the control tower at the airport. But they don't get to the root of the problem. The Communications Authority in charge of licensing radio station is a very close-knit click interested in keeping the radio media in their hands to prevent other opinions from being aired. To do this they make it so difficult to get a radio license, it's cheaper going pirate. The Communications Authority are the culprits and they must be reigned in to allow more stations get licenses so the public wouldn't feel they need to go pirate in order to hear the truth, or another opinion.

9. Steve A7 was "koshered" & still broadcasts where have u been

10. Ronit it is a series of Jewish religious pirates at work!
(06.07.07)
11. REP its the army not the communications authority...
In Israel radio bands are few they are controlled by the army for the obvious reason of national security. There are a whole set of bands which were set aside for civilian use and these are under the control of the Communications authority. But then the real question here is why is that every time things like this happen it is the less than intelligent members of the right who start jumping up and down?

12. Pirate Radio Stations
These pirate radio stations are endangering the lives of hundreds, no, thousands of people. We all know this and yet the authorities are doing NOTHING! It's high time they stopped pussyfooting around and hit these stations hard. ZERO TOLERANCE is the name of the game. We have the ability to track these stations down. Do it. DESTROY all their equipment. Prosecute ALL those involved. The punishment must be long terms of imprisonment WITHOUT the option of a fine, and NO SUSPENDED sentences. Those who advertise on these stations must also be prosectuted. Don't wait for a disaster. ACT NOW!!!
