1. Scientology
Shalom   (06.07.07)
These guys are Cult Missionaries - plain and simple. I was once foolish enough to visit their offices near the Old bus station in Tel Aviv. They are smart - brainwashing through paying for courses in self-improvement, while telling stories of their extremely wealthy Guru Ron Hubbard. They are dangerous and must be stopped
2. Scientology..............
Avraham ,   Netivot   (06.07.07)
Scientology is a mind control cult & must be banned from Israel. They are out to destroy Judiasm!
3. Keep the door closed to this sham
Scott ,   Haifa   (06.07.07)
They are wolves in sheep's clothing. It's nothing but a sham, believe me I know from experience. Empty wind, delivers nothing, but will milk you of all your finances. Stay away !
4. I hope...
joe ,   sheffield.uk.   (06.07.07)
TOM CRUISE will be there..collecting donations of course.
5. The church of the poisoned mind
Talula ,   Israel   (06.07.07)
“A guide comes and engages the children in hour-long activities, focusing on respect and caring for others, how to treat one another, and mutual help,” Actually, our government ministers might benefit from a stint in this sort of summer camp. Socientology also believes in silent child birth - women are not allowed to make a sound while giving birth to a child the size of a watermelon. LOL! Thanks, but I'll stick with Judasim.
6. Ban this cult at once. danger to kids
(06.07.07)
7. Ban them outright!
(06.07.07)
8. #5 SOCIENTOLOGY ??
joe ,   sheffield   (06.07.07)
So you suffer from dyslexia and/or a learning disabilty (too);you might benefit from this experience:how to keep your mouth shut like the watermelon barers.
9. Is this sect not banned
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.07.07)
in some European countries ? throw them out of Israel , or send them to Mea Shearim , there they certainly will receive an "appropiate" reception [ appopriate = some shots on their ....., tor men nischt soggen ]
10. why r always so quick 2 ban something different....
(06.07.07)
shouldn't we be more concerned about creating stronger ties with potential friends? Why can't we learn from the right wing settlers who are always receiving money from the Bible Belt Baptists and other protestants?
11. G*d forbid....
Patrick ,   Haifa   (06.07.07)
That Israeli's would learn “... respect and caring for others, how to treat one another, and mutual help,” I mean fair enough, I wouldn't become a Scientologist or go to their meetings or send my kids to them or anything like that... but I bring my children up to understand how to behave in a civilisation... it's really a shame that most Israeli's don't. "Kodem yordim" people! It's such a simple rule and benefits everyone!
12. This cult has nothing to offer us!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (06.07.07)
13. #8 Joe`
dont answer ,   it's too obvious   (06.07.07)
You have got to be the rudest poster vere published. Are you as big a looser as your post suggests?
14. Doesn't Israel's youth have enough problems?
Steve ,   USA   (06.07.07)
Why promote this? Why not teach Jewish values? Why not teach our children from our Bible? Aren't there plenty of good lessons in the Jewish Bible? What can L. Ron Hubbard offer our children that King David or Ruth or Joshua cannot offer them?
15. THE WAY TO HAPPINESS
James Lightfield ,   Philadelphia, PA   (06.07.07)
Ignorance causes distrust and hatred. In this world -- as Israelis well knwo - it also causes wholesale murder and destruction. Before condeming the little booklet, find out what "The Way to Happiness" is at www.TWTH.org. More than 60 million copies of this booklet in 50+ languages have been distributed. It has been reprinted (anyone can reprint it) by the departments of various governements, in major newspapers, in international corporations and hundreds of organizations all without the slightest tie to Scientology. As a citizen, L Ron Hubbard wrote the booklet. Not as the founder of Scientology. He saw a need in a world of hatred for a guide to help further human rights and understanding of others.

You are deluded my friend! If you saw your brother standing on the roof, about to jump; would you say, "hey - let him try something different; who are we to judge?" I hope not!

M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.07.07)
Some of you sound exactly like the people, who boycott and talk trash about you and who'd just as soon see all Jews on "reservations," and it doesn't sound any better coming from you than it does coming from them. I read two of Hubbard's books years ago, and I'm not a Scientologist. I thought his ideas, no more or less than those of a few other people, were off the wall, but I certainly didn't feel threatened. Then again, I've read and had that New Testament preached at me for years and years and years, and I ended up not being a Christian, and as far as some of them are concerned, there's no hell deep and hot enough for me. Oh, well! I try to read some of the Koran every day; too; not because I want to be a Muslim, but because I want to know what makes those people tick and to have an answer now and then, when they talk BS about their peaceful religion. I know what I believe and if somebody wants to sway me from that, good luck, and I look forward to some interesting discussions. Oh, I've read the Book of Mormon, too. I scratched them off the list, when they wouldn't let me have three husbands of my choice. If you, btw., want to find those two lost Hebrew tribes, well, I hate to tell you, but you'll have to start looking in Salt Lake City :-). Anyway, I'd say that since John Travolta is a Scientologist, they can't be too bad, but then again, so is Tom Cruise, and I have to take it back.
22. Scientology is a DANGEROUS CULT
m ,   jerusalem   (06.07.07)
This is a movement that should not be allowed power in the public sector, they are already running many of the anti-drug clinics in Israel, they are against psychology and psychiatric drugs. They believe in crazy ideas like Xenu, and will go to any length to discredit people who oppose them. Screw Scientology, You people are insane! keep the hell out of our lives........ L Ron Hubbard was a fraud and if you want to give your money to his so called 'religion' then go ahead but keep away from our children and vulnerable parts of Israeli society. Scientology is a dangerous cult! beware..........
23. BUT WAIT! THAT'S NOT ALL! TOM CRUISE MAKES AN APPEARANCE!
stude ham   (06.07.07)
And plays hopping games with the children! And if you act quickly enough the children will also receive a free copy of the South Park episode 'Coming Out of the Closet'.. Now with all of those goodies for the kiddies why would anyone want to turn down the offer? Purim shlachmonat offer better??
24. Read RELIGION, INC. - if you can find a copy
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (06.07.07)
It exposes what a dangerous and false cult this is. In the US, their mind slaves have stolen almost all copies from public libraries. A publisher in Israel would be doing a huge mitzvah if they translated and distributed it. They also infiltrated the US Treasury Dept. and were caught destroying whole files, when the IRS investigated all their ill-gotten gains from bleeding dry all the savings of their victims. This is NOT comparable to other religions - this group seeks to enslave your family's minds and to steal all your money. They have destroyed thousands of lives and careers. They are indeed banned from several countries - and Israel should follow their wise example.
25. Scientology=Bloodsuckers for the rich n famous
john ,   nz   (06.07.07)

joe ,   sheffield.uk.   (06.07.07)
I may be rude but I'm not homophobic (at least she spelled that correctly, but she also mis-spelled "ever" later on in another naive post)However,I think her use of the word "homophobic" is what is called in psychology :"Projection".She'd better see a shrink.Have a good day!!(That's not rude ,is it??!!)
28. Scientology and Jew
Steve ,   Clearwater Fllorida   (06.07.07)
As a Jew an Scientologist, I am appalled by the bigoted views in these responses. For the most part they are based on misconceptions of what Scientology is and does, and from people who have never actually read Hubbard's works. Name calling and hatred based on reading newspapers or listening to propaganda is a dangerous thing, and the history of the Jewish people would be the greatest example of this in the 20th century.
29. scientology and xtianity, what is the difference?
abdulla ,   germany   (06.07.07)
if heaven forbid a jew converts to either one, the effect is the same to the jewish community, isn't it? its a loss either way. so why all the fuss against this xtian denomination?
30. Knowledge is Power,
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.07.07)
and if you want to defend yourself against something, the more you know of it, the better. If you fear something, at least, go through the trouble to learn what it is you fear and why. What a relief it was to find out that Jews don't really use Christian blood to make matzoh balls. All those wasted years looking over my shoulders for beady-eyed Jews with bowls, every time I cut my finger or one of my kids had a nose bleed!!!! Even after I stopped being a Christian, I may still have looked like one to "THEM." That sounds pretty stupid, doesn't it?
