61. Obscuring Genders

If the learned rabbi thinks that women studying gemara is going to obscure the differences between the sexes he definitely has a problem. I suggest he see a sex counselor

LOL - I know the male ego is fragile in most cases but do we have to carry out the charade that far ?

Why should anyone be told what to read and what not to read ? Are you, or what you call TBers, or women so immature as to not be able to decide what they want to read/study or not ? What you are advocating is thought and study control - and you or the learned rabbi or anyone else has no right to advocate that.
64. Gender

My wife has a strong yeshiva background, well past high school level. She's studied Gemorah for years. She used to study in mixed gender classes until that became verboten in the early 90's. I fully and unreservedly vouch for her lack of gender confusion. I'm entirely certain that she's female and, additionally, that she is entirely comfortable as such. Now.. on to the next Chumrah of the week... will they ban air since, G-d forbid, we might inhale a bug? ;-)

If women continue to eat they will obscure any gender differences and diminish their kedusha. Anorexia is the Torah way!
66. Under the new covenant with the God of Israel
marilyn   (01.11.08)
" There is neither male nor female but we are all one person in union with Christ [ the anointed of Jehovah]. And although as women we respect the headship arrangement that God has put in place, and are quiet in meetings and do not exercise authority over a man, we too are born again through the 'seed' of the imperishable word and are fellow inheritors of the promises of God. The old rules under the former covenant was broken 2,000 years ago when Israel was scattered from her land to the furtherest reaches on the earth. Through Gods mercy his loving kindnesses never cease , He has brought you back upon your Land and now he intends for you to receive the new covenant as promised through the prophet Jeremiah. "He is creating new heavens and a new earth, the former is passing away.'

that's true. Since I've been studying I developed the habit to fart and burb at the table. Hey a man's castle is his home, right?

I guess Rav E never heard of rashi's granddaughters or other gedolim who have written about their learned daughters. Perhaps women should learn gemorrah while men learn the REAL stuff - Torah She'Bktav. Or women should learn Chulin and men Baba Metziah - keep them apart that way. Or women should stay at home and learn and yungerleight should make a living. Gemmee a break.
