1. The title was clear - nobody have interest in the expelled
Ignacio ,   Zaragoza, Spain   (06.23.07)
see last summer vicitms and the number of titles they get vs. the palestinians. Even in Israeli press.
2. comapssion
Yehu Ben Zohar ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.23.07)
Lets see, when was the last time the IDF threw handcuffed prisoners of the roof of a 15 story building? When was the last time the IDF led half naked prisoners out of a building and then murdered them in front of their families? When was the last time Israeli Arabs were lined up at the Gaza crossing pleading to be let in to escape persecution in Israel? What none? How could that be? The idiot who wrote this propaganda article for Hamas should go live in Gaza and see what real compassion isn't, not the fantasy world he lives in.
3. Blinded by ideology
Johann Haefliger ,   Sion / Switzerland   (06.23.07)
To B. Michael: It's utterly hopeless to try to open the eyes of people who are completely blinded by pseudo-religious political ideologies, but history will take ist course. What happened to other such disastrous '-isms' of European origin, colonialism, communism or fascism, in the long run will necessarily happen to Zionism also. Jews will survive, but not Zionism.
4. What A Hypocrite You Are, B. Michael.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.23.07)
There is NO moral equivalency between our measures at self-defense & the behavior of the Palestinians, be they Hamas, Fatah, clan gangs, or other assorted thugs. The "suffering" of the Palestinians is of their own making. When Gaza was Egyptian, how did they treat Palestinians? When we gave control of Gaza to Arafat, what happened? Gaza became Singapore, right, Mr Michael? No, it remained Gaza. Who created the whole collection of armed thugs that roam the streets of Gaza like predatory animals? Fatah did. Where is all the aid money poured into Palestine over the years? Down the toilet of Palestinian corruption & violence. And who elected Hamas? Not us. Gazans elected Hamas. We left Gaza & it sank deeper into hell. For sure, we bear some responsibility - we're the idiots who signed the Oslo accords & imported terrorists in the first place, all supported by hypocrites & daydreamers like you. And we ignored their ghastly behavior, also because of hypocrites like you. And, we continue to do so. So, please take your moral self-rightousness somewhere else (like move to Gaza) because few people outside of deluded politicians are buying this load of crap any more. I'll save my compassion for people who deserve it.
5. Israel struggles for life
Raphael ,   Netanya   (06.23.07)
Any help, even coming from Fatah or Hamas is welcome. That is why Shin Bets tactic favouring the birth of Hamas before Oslo was a longsighted move, and supply of weapons to Fatah a clever investment. All those palestinian thugs shot in the knees will not bother us any more. Sorry for narcissic humanrightniks!
6. "Who would have thunk!"
Arja ,   Canada   (06.23.07)
Like they say, "who would have thunk it?!!!" On the other hand, I hear that the IDF is continuing its operations on innocent Palestinians - destruction of houses and trees, murder of innocent men, women and children. The wall continues to be built, the checkpoints to humiliate. I don't consider any country "civilized" that allows the torture or murder of prisoners or those SUSPECTED of being guilty of a crime. Capital punishment is barbaric even if there were trials. Targetted assassinations are nothing more than "capital punishment" executions of SUSPECTS. Barbaric! So it's nice to see some "compassion" -- yeah right!
7. Who created this pain?
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.23.07)
I can only speak of what I know, and this horsesh-t opinion reminds me of "the pain inflicted" on Germany and their "innocent civilians" that got really cranked up in l943 and continued through l944, l945 and even l946. We were bombarded night and day, lived in shelters and caves, were hunted by our own countrymen and nearly starved, even after the worst was over; all brought on, of course, by the total indifference and lack of compassion on the part of those ruthless Amis, Brits and their allies!!! Yeah, right!!!!!Whereas some fairy tales end with, "and they lived happily ever after," the German version ended with, "but Hilter built the Autobahn." Thank God for those "ruthless" Allies, who managed to save what few of our skinny, pathetic asses were left. Somebody, please, get off the BS!
8. to johann hellfighter from swedenland
rashid ,   palistinian   (06.23.07)
it is so good to write so much total nonsense and at the same time pretend to be some kind of an intelectual prat believe me, as a palistinian i am doing it here every day so all the "ism" is going to disappear including zionsm and capitalism and barbarism and chauvenism, only islam is going to survive because it has no "ism"? actually if you take out the l and the a from islam it also become ism so that will disapear too, i tell you brother johann from swedenland (where the hell is it?) it is good to be a bumbling fool, you and me are so simmilar, must be the fresh air in gaza and swedenlan, where the hell is it?
9. COMPASSION FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT OUR DESTRUCTION ? NO WAY !
Ron   (06.23.07)
You are a moron
10. To #8 STOP THAT!
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.23.07)
Do you, honestly, have to do that? It's not even 9 AM, and already, I'm sitting here, laughing myself silly. If one my kids were to call right now, they'd think their mother was getting drunk and hysterical a little too early.
11. #4
Dave ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (06.23.07)
Well said.
12. Not just Palestinians...
enzo ,   london,uk   (06.23.07)
Israel is helping hundreds of poor Sudanese refugees! Yesterday 25 of them arrived to Israel leaving behind the horror of Darfour! Each one of them is taken care of by volunteers from NGOs and social work students from Ben Gurion University! Does the world know about this? Viva Israel...!
13. JEWS ARE INATELY COMPASSIONATE, HUMANE, TOLERANT, CIVIL
david ,   usa   (06.23.07)
we are everything our enemy is not, that is why we show concern for the sufferings of others, even if those "others" are sworn to our destruction, call it an instinctive flaw
14. Bravo Terry...
Yaron ,   USA   (06.23.07)
...well said and long overdue. It is time to extinguish the political correctness and call a spade a spade. The suffering is self-inflicted, but we are a compassionate people and will be sucker-punched once again!
15. Speak for yourself!
David Samson ,   Toronto, Canada   (06.23.07)
I am a supporter of Israel and deplore the actions of the Palestinians in electing and supporting terrorists. I understand they must accept responsibility for the decision to pursue jihad as opposed to peace. Given their choice, I believe the must accept the suffering and bloodshed that is the inevitable consequence of their decision. If a people create a culture of hatred and terror, then one should not be surprised when the terrorists turn on their own and start throwing people off buildings, shooting the unarmed, and other barbarous acts. That being said, I (and, I believe, most Israelis) feel compassion for the innocent Palestinians no matter who causes them harm. To suggest Israelis have no compassion is an insult to all the Israelis who have shown such tolerance and restraint to a terrorist infested people that the Israelis could have annihilated with the greatest of ease.
16. Arabs got what they deserved
Frank ,   Canada   (06.23.07)
They voted for Hamas, they supported terror. Does it ring a bell? They don't deserve anything but scorn.
17. #8 Rashid and Johann
Elmer   (06.23.07)
Insights such as yours is what makes reading these comments so rewarding. The depth, the understanding, the courage of ideas. Rashid, please keep on posting talkbacks. Always a fresh, original outlook on things. We need that.
18. Bravo Yaron...!
enzo ,   london,uk   (06.23.07)
19. Shut your mouth B. Michael!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (06.23.07)
And why didn't you publish your first namke?? Afraid of the backlash your ugly, descable piece of writing would create?? How DARE you triy to equate our defensive actions with Hamas' barbaric behaviour!!
20. I ask myself
Sad One ,   Cruel World   (06.23.07)
What kind of people don 't feel any compassion for the suffering of other people? What kind of people can't put themselves in the shoes of others to try to understand them better? And I'm not even a Buddhist (or religious for that matter) but I can feel compassion for both Israelis and Palestinians... and even Bush and his Neocon hawkish buddies ......(now THAT is a call to personal growth!!!) Your so-called enemies are you best teachers! I come to YNet to learn... sighhhh We do live in a barbaric world! There is no ESSENTIAL difference between aggressor and resister because BOTH sides are aggressors and resisters. It's a lose-lose situation for all. When there is no integrity between ends and means, we have barbarism and that's our modern "civilized" world. We don't have to go back into the Middle Ages! We may have sophisticated technology and science and all that but our superstitious beliefs (religions) and abhorrent treatment of others belie our psychological and moral immaturity.
21. It is time for B.Micael to return to Iraq
Elie   (06.23.07)
and help relieve the terrible suffering of his homeland bretheren.I am sick and tired of his continuing abuse of the Israelis with his fake Marxist Morality. We will not charge him for the expenses of hosting him.
22. Any compassion for agonizing expelled Gazatian Jews sir ???
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (06.23.07)
23. RE: #6 Arja, your premise is wrong
Mark ,   Georgia, USA   (06.24.07)
So you "don,t consider any country "civilized" that......" What is your feeling about mythical semi-countries that slit peoples throats in the street. How about "torture or murder" in Gaza. Any feelings about that? Did you know how many pals have been killed in 2007 from the infighting ( Pals vs Pals) = 471 so far included in that number is 26-women & 29 children = 12% of the killing. Any feelings about that? You know besides the all the Jews fault crap! While this sarcastic moron is toasted at all the best wine tasting parties while he eats cheese and crackers, he just seems naive at best and a traitor at worst.. But he is allowed to write and print this nonsense unlike the Pals who would be dragged out in the night , in front of their children, and hung from a telephone pole with chicken wire for attacking their government in such a public way. submitted for your approval Mark from Georgia
24. more compassion??
Arja ,   Canada   (06.24.07)
A Tikun Olam site by Richard Silverstein describes how Israel Slams door on 190 fleeing Gazans. He mentions the callousness of Israeli high-officialdom when it comes to letting these Gazans find refuge in the West Bank rather than just the FIVE that were evacuated to Israeli hospitals. He writes: "Now, isn't that interesting. Israel wants Egypt to solve this crisis for them. Fat chance. Why don't they 'prevent a humanitarian crisis and end the standoff' by letting the people transit from Gaza to the West Bank as they wish to do?? And do you punish 190 people because one person is wanted? Let the other 189 go to the West Bank and let the other guy stay at Erez."
25. Mark
Arja ,   Canada   (06.24.07)
I checked out other articles by B. Michael at Ynet and for the most part, what he/she has written made a lot of sense to me... more than most feedbacks including yours, I'm sorry to say.
26. Read this interview with Hamas leader!

27. How dare we target those who send
vered ,   israel   (06.24.07)
suicide bombers out to kill innocent people at bus stops? How dare we kill those organizers of of terror and widespread bloodshed? What kind of people are we anyway?
28. To B. Michael
Smooth   (06.24.07)
I would have felt better had B. Michael any guts to mention his recognition of the goals of Hizbullah, Syria, Iran and Hamas as part of an axis of terror to set the region in flames and dictate the Israeli-palestinian agenda. Apparently, B. Michael is too busy berating Israel and Jews for defending themselves against Muslim Arab butchers to take much notice. The fact that Jews in the British Mandate have been attacked by Arabs since the early 1900's - recall the Hebron massacre of Jews in 1929 as one example - was not because of any territorial dispute - but just because Jews existed. Maybe Islam is the root of the problem. Currently there are 30 conflicts around the world and 25 of them involve Islam. There is no law on earth that requires the Jewish people to accept their own demise merely because Arab Muslims and their Jew-hating supporters say we should. According to B. Michael, Zionism is not valid, only Palestinianism is. What a bunch of crap Arabs chose war. Arabs suffer the consequences. It is outrageous that B. Michael postures about palestinian rights as the core of the problem. All that has done is misrepresent history, misrepresent Islam and misrepresent the facts. With Ray Nanania as Ynet's palestinian ghoul, and now B. Michael, I'm getting ready to ditch my support of Ynet. Having columnists like those two writing for an Israeli e-newspaper is absurd and offensive.
29. Arja
Mark ,   Georgia, USA   (06.24.07)
A. Leiberman I thought wrote an excellent piece that I agreed with. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3416005,00.htm I know you often go to Tikun Olam site I think it is simply a far left Jewish site. But, again in free societies opposing views are common while in the Pals region all public papers and TV are controlled by Govt. You never did address Pals vs Pals murder of 471 people with 12% of those being women and children. Too the recent killings in Gaza As pointed out in the link where is all the leftist compassion the silence is deafening. I wonder Arja have you written anything critical of the Pals. Or have you just waited for a leftist writer to attack Israel and then agree. I'll let people read both sides and make up their own minds.
30. Gee. I wonder what drove the Palestinians to become such
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (06.24.07)
fanatics? Perhaps it was the same thing that drove the Lebanese into the arms of Hizbollah. But I have to be careful what I say. The censors don't allow the delicate sensibilities of the Likudniks to be disturbed by untoward thoughts.
