12. The shouldn't have come to Israel !
Shame on you   (06.27.07)
The occupation is happening just a few kilometers to the east, the apartheid wall is built all around Qalqilia on the eastern outskirts of Raanana, and unlike any other artist who believe in the universality of music they should have at least make a statement, and show solidarity with the people who suffer behind that wall. Roger Waters came to Israel but made it in his respectfull way performind in Wa7at Salam/Neveh Shalom, a place where people strive to build peace, these airheads came to make some money, they probably have no idea about the injustice Israel inflicted on the people living in the west bank, nor their audience. Wish your contract ends quickly, and your manager finds a new commercial artist to work with.

It's great to have such a great singer performing in Israel. This article is well written that when you read it you feel that you were there and it's refreshing to read about happy events. Makes you forgot about politics and killing for a little while.

Korem ,   New york, USA   (06.28.07)
Israel is a country. Deal with it. And if you think Israel has the right to exist but just don't support its policies, Pray tell, how is perfoming for an audience of innocent goth civilian evanescence fans going to hurt the Palestinians? How is peforming plays, sending movies, and staging concerts and international film or book festivals in Israel going to hurt the Palestinians? The reason she didn't perform in Ramallah is because her life would probably have been in danger. Just one fundementalist who belives women don't have the right to sing like she does on stage could mean her death. Who are you to speak for these musicians anyway? Clearly she knows there are political tensions in Israel, but unlike you, she is not a brainwashed bigot.

I guess Pearl Jam shouldn't play anymore shows in the US because they don't like George Bush or the war. Oh wait, that makes no sense. You're trying to put politics into a situation where there aren't any.
21. Artists want to perform in Israel
Gidi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.28.07)
because Israel is the best country in the world.
22. I wish....
carissa ,   Paphos, Cyprus   (06.28.07)
The artical really makes you feel like you are there at the concert! You can feel the enthusiasm of the crowd and their excitment just by the way it is described in the article. I can imagine for those that were there it was "an unforgettable experience" and for those of us that were not there, we can picture what it felt like! I seriously wish I was there!
24. Speaking as someone who was at the show...
RP ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.29.07)
...this is a great review! Saba has successfully pulled the reader into the experience of the concert, as if s/he were there himself. Her painstaking notetaking during the concert shines through the article and is much appreciated. I would love to see more culture articles by Rula Saba. Ynet: Send her on more assignments - she's great!!!
