1. Ross' is old thinking, Oslo thinking.
Jake T ,   Alaska   (07.06.07)
Still living in the past. He, like many other influential people, still hasn't registered the new reality: Hamas' popularity will increase no matter what. Fatah is doomed because if it fights terrorism, as Ross suggests, it will look even more like the Americans' stooge that he has become in his desperate hold on power. And if he doesn't, it's only a matter of months before his Al Aqsa Brigades or Hamas itself stage a coup. The US should cut their losses. Stop propping up a loser. Stop arming him. The Americans' obstinate attempt to create a Palestinian state out of nothing but wishful thinking should stop now. Explore other alternatives that will defang this terrorist entity before it becomes a real threat to Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
2. Dennis Ross
Yisraeli   (07.06.07)
always was a waste of time, silly little boy with small mind playing with the arabs in the middle east when he has had no concept of understanding just whom hes dealing with, not that Israeli governments to date behaved any better, but as #1 said, stuck in the stupid Oslo syndrome. He said "There has to be coordination between Israel and Fatah, but Fatah has to deliver." What a joke, same as saying USA has to co-ordinate with Al Qaida and Osama to deliver. What a prick.
3. ah! nothing like a little positive thinking on a Friday!

4. Is Ross finally coming around?
Mike Jefferson ,   Washington, D.C.   (07.06.07)
Has Dennis Ross finally experienced an epiphany? He's changed his tune 180 degrees from his old "kumbaya" view of Middle Eastern politics.
5. Old Ross is right
Avi ,   Israel   (07.06.07)
It is better to be killed by fatah then to be killied by hamas That is why we should help fatah stay in power, I much rather die by someone getting EU aid then by someone getting Iranian aid. There is logic in our madness......
6. Dr. Frankenstein/Ross
Jaayzee ,   World Citizen   (07.06.07)
Is just seeing his monster begin to run amock. Rather than accepting responsibility for this creature he is finding excuses for why it is behaving badly. This is his baby, let him take ownership of what he created. Maybe now he will think of a demand from Israel worthy of releasing Pollard in exchange for. Right, wasn't that his ace in the hole? Newsflash, no matter how much you want to you CAN'T make peace with people who don't want to make it with you.
7. Great Heros who give fight for HONOR AND BELIVES
Atilla Liman ,   Karagözoğlu   (07.06.07)

8. #5 - Avi in Israel You Make An Excellent Point.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.06.07)
It's much more politically correct to be killed by "moderates" than by extremists. There is a third option, ignored by our gov't., which is not to get killed. Contrary to our gov't's thinking, many Israelis are not suicidal.
9. Ross - Risk of War
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.06.07)
Mr Ross, 99% cannot be considered in the catagory of risk. The only uncertainty is the date. Is the word "preemption" in your diplomatic vocabulary?
10. When?
Homer Simpson ,   Tel Aviv   (07.06.07)
Jeffrey, Jeffrey, Jeffrey. Did mr. Ross give you a precise date when he peered into the crystal ball?
11. "Former" is operative word - sick of him already
Andrew ,   Miami, FL   (07.06.07)
12. End Game by Andras Bereny
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (07.06.07)
What conflict against the Jews were ever non-religious? We all know what the end-game is, so stop hiding it Ross!
13. hes another one you chose a flattering photo for
(07.06.07)
Surprise surprise
14. A war with Syria is a war with Iran
Jam   (07.06.07)
15. criticizes US for being soft on Damascus
BJL ,   usa   (07.06.07)
Here we go again. The left saying to soft? To hard...to soft never just right of course. Never perfect like THEY would do it. Like like did sooooo good when they had their chance... What a load of BS. When the war does come, they will blame us, rather than Syria and Iran. Just wait and see.
16. Just when you thought........
Dr. Leon ,   Tzfat, Israel   (07.07.07)
Just when you thought we we didn't have to any more stupidity from Dennis Ross, here he is again !!!!! I met him briefly in 1994....He was a moron then and he's a bigger moron now.
17. No More Hands Behind Back
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CA USA   (07.07.07)
Ross didn't see the absurdity of Camp David from the get go. He should have put the issue of the refugees on the table immediately, and would have avoided the farsical discussions that led no where, and in fact, made everything much worse. He should have advised against leaving the Strip..or at least the IDF to maintain some control. Syria w/o Egypt and or Iran will be hard pressed to attack Israel, even with their new Mig 31s. I mean, Damascus will disappear into the desert moonlight..Iran won't attack before going nuclear..if they are smart. But then again..In the next war, Israel won't fight with both hands tied.
18. Blame the US game
Nabil ,   washington DC   (07.07.07)
It seems no matter how much the US does to Israel it is always to blame. Too soft he claims. Who has been talking to Syria "indirectly". I seem to recall it was Israel. Who has avoided the Syians during the Lebanon war eventhough they were and are still the providers of arms and ammunition?. It was Israel. Blaming others is the easiest thing to do. Mr. Ross only represents Israel because his democratic party is the softest creature when it comes to Syria (see Pelosi's visit to king Bashar) so how is he blaming Bush to be a softie now?.
19. The Bible says Damascus will be destroyed...
(07.07.07)
Someone in Damascus believes the Bible because the government of Syria has removed itself from the city, I have read.
20. A War with Syria is a War with Iran
Adams moya ,   Paris   (07.14.07)
I want to seen 70 millions Iranian how they can survive without food for just one week, when they have no Oil to generate electricity, move their trains, move they cars, move their boats, and fly their planes. Right now they don't have enough oil before going to war. Half of the population is on Opium smuggled in front of the openned government eyes to keep the population quite in sleep. This will be the last war, Israel will cleanup Gaza, Lebanon, surround Demascus and force Assad to sign surrendering petition and giving up on Golan heights to Israel, because Israel can take care of it better than Syria.
21. Assad will sign surrender petition.
Adams Moyo ,   Paris   (07.14.07)
Yes, because Israel will surround Demascus and cut everything from the city. Assad will walk with his goose neck to sign surrender petition and giving up Golan Heights to Israel because Israel did better is putting live in Golan Heights.
