1. don't be stupid Israel
Dan ,   Tel Aviv   (07.06.07)
There are a lot of refugees in the world and Israel should take some responsibilty in proportion to its size and population to accomodate some of them - but no more (or perhaps a little more). Don't be stupid Israel - it is right to feel sorry for these people, but if we give them refuge we will effectively have said anyone can come here. A flood is already becoming a become a torrent. Remember, most of these people are economic migrants and have been living in Egypt for years - its just like the African who risk their lives to move to Europe. Dont be fooled by left-wing media - and if somethin is not done quickly, we will be in big trouble. There is no such thing as partly closing the border. We need zero tolerance and deport 90% of these people immediately.
2. we must never abandon refugees
(07.06.07)
NEVER
3. Must be Compassionate
Sharon ,   Canada   (07.06.07)
Who more than the State of Israel to help persecuted refugees? In the Shoah, other countries closed their borders to the Jews who were being persecuted and after time sent to their deaths. That is the reason these refugees have come here. Because they know we will be compassionate. We took in how many Russians? And some of those brought more crime and violence with them than productivity! I don't see anyone throwing up their arms at that one! We shouldn't repeat history's mistakes.
4. nation of God
Moses Mafora ,   Johannesburg, SA   (07.06.07)
The nation of God dumped migrants because they are black & not Jewish. I wonder how many countries accepted the Jewish when they were erased by the Germans(Nazis) but today they have gutts to send poor people back. I am not amazed by this treatment because we suffered a lot apartheid South Africa and Israel was their best friend.
5. It should be that anyone can come here.
robin ,   israel   (07.06.07)
We are the Jewish people, if we are not a light onto the world, then what are we?

M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.06.07)
There's no doubt that Israel can't absorb all the refugees of the world. Nevertheless, these are human beings, and there just has to be a mitzvah for this sort of thing. Until the government of Israel comes up with a reasonable solution, you can't just let these people rot in the streets. I was in their shoes as a child, and had it not been for the kindness of total strangers, I wouldn't be here today. How about g'milut chasadim or Psalm 89:2? Before this is all over, I'm gonna be a better Jew than half the Jews I know, and you guys will be in BIG trouble. And don't anybody tell me to help at home first. I do that, too. Now how about somebody come up with the address or tel. # for these students. I'm too old to head for Beersheba, but I can help with a little money.
8. Drop them off at...

The Remat Aviv G. or Savyon villas of each and every bleeding heart leftist who say that Israel must take in all the refugees from all over the world.
9. Add to the pile
Wise Man ,   USA   (07.06.07)
Jews from Russia and Poland, Jews from Africa and now just plain African. It is not your land any way so keep adding to the pile. Egypt should open the borders for the african to saturate Israel and sink it with african refugees.

Hacking the natives to death, converting them by the sword/gun, and pillaging them of their gold and silver. Unlike you we actually have been here for over 4000 years. Wise man you are nothing more than a fool.
19. Take them all
Wise Man ,   USA   (07.06.07)
It is not your land and it isnot your house. Take them all and add them to the rest of the peopel in Israel who moved from all over the world. What a nation ...
20. but they are econmic migrants
Dan ,   Tel Aviv   (07.06.07)
don't you guys get it - they are coming here because they think they will do better financially - thats it - they have been living in Egypt for years - only suddenly does the flood start when real Sudanese refugees were given jobs in Eilat. And for that idiot from South Africa - Israel is the only country in the world to have ever taken black men out of their country to NOT be slaves. Skin color is not relevent - what country in the world would tolerate this - it is a threat to national security on so many levels - economic, demographic, etc. Let some in, where are you going to draw the line - draw it now -kick them out ASAP - other than those who must stay. They were in Egypt. Israel is not responsible for all poor people in the world. When these migrants are here, treat them with respect, but they are illlegal aliens - ie. criminals - they must be sent back -and the longer the government takes to do it, the more time leftie organizations will try to stop it and make it all worse as thousands more pour in - and then "igrant worker organizations" will cry that we cant kick out these people because they have been here for 5 years already. Notice that these organizations are also the far, far left anti-zionist ones. They want people tp stay to help destroy the Jewish nature of the state which they can't stand.

23. not economic migrants, they've responded to your invitation
observer   (07.06.07)
They learned a lot about your sympathy with them, so they have just come to negotiate their problems. Their people whom they left back are dying to hear from those messengers to stat their journey IN MILLIONS! Do you have any problem with your Diaspora's PR?
24. Charity Begins At Home
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (07.06.07)
Save your pity. Worry more about the Jewish refugees still unattended in Israel after their homes and lives were destroyed by the Israeli regime. There are 22 Arab countries who can care for them!
25. deport them to Cypress - EU
jsm   (07.06.07)
Deport them to cypress - let the EU look after them
26. Wiseman (ha ha) USA
D. Hatton, UK   (07.06.07)
Wiseman in USA... How was your day yesterday? the day we decided to give you your indipendence... Tell me, doesn't San Franscico sounds rather spanish to you? Los Angeles, San Diego...strange isn't it, did all these places belong to some other people once? Oklohoma, sounds a bit Indian to me, did that belong to another people? Seracuse, Tonawanda, Tallahassee, funny, all these names don't sound particularly English sounding, did they all belong to another people too? I think we can prove that half of the USA was stolen from Mexicans and Indians, so, before you write shit, think about your own stupid country, a place where the people are fixated in watching other people get humiliated on day time television.
27. #20 Dan in Israel - Very true.
Tracy W   (07.06.07)
These facts are so clear. But you'll continue to hear references to Holocaust refugees and every kind of tactic to make Israelis uncomfortable about refusing entry to these economic migrants. The government must be made to act quickly. These people will demand to have their families join them and in a few months they'll have Israeli babies. The longer you wait, the worse the situation will become for the country.
28. To #17
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.06.07)
Psalm 89:2: "For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever. Thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens." And this is straight from the teachings of the mitzvot: A large part of Jewish law is about the relationship between man and his neighbors. The same body of Jewish law that commands us to eat only kosher food, not to turn on lights on Shabbat, and not to wear wool woven with linen, also commands us to love both Jews and strangers, to give tzedakah (charity) to the poor and needy, and not to wrong anyone in speech or in business. In fact, acts of lovingkindness are so much a part of Jewish law that the word "mitzvah" (literally, "commandment") is informally used to mean any good deed.
29. To #17
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.06.07)
Before you start to explain that Psalms 89:2 speaks of god's mercy for his people, maybe you should remember that mercy is shown to those who show mercy. I don't think god shows mercy to anyone, so we can let people rot in the street. I've already stated that Israel can't and shouldn't be expected to take in a flood of refugees, but that's for your government to handle.
30. Missing agenda leads to inhuman / political treatment.
H.H.M ,   Jerusalem   (07.06.07)
Israel is in a rather situation / position concerning the influx of illegal Africans who fled from their war torn countries to save their lives and after a long track reached the border of Israel. They became “public pawns” in the Near East politics, the Egyptian authorities so far let them crawl through out Sinai up to the Israel border and here they were caught be the Israeli armies as illegal immigrants. Legally they are illegal practically they are refugees who fled to save their lives. The UN majority of world countries “discusses this refugee problem….!” So they turned up at Israel’s border and here the army collects them and dumped them in the desert town of Beersheba. The new Defense Minister who has to deal with this problem apparently misses the necessary human consideration / understanding as he has shown in his previous career in the Tselim disaster in the overnight departure from Lebanon. Of course he is the only first member of Israel government who has direct responsibility whilst his Prime Minister has not yet found the time/ way / solution to deal with this human and international problem inside Israel. - As reported the Beersheba municipality will get those who were dumped in their area by busses to Jerusalem, another dumping incidents! In Beersheba the students of Ben Gurion university and private citizens helped these unfortunate refugees for the moment without being able to solve this question. – Israel government of the Jewish State of Israel a State which took in hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees who suffered alike these poor African human beings apparently is unwilling to help within its limitations! - Have we forgotten the Holocaust lecture. PM Olmert no second Winograd Commission is needed to “register” these new failure.
