1. 10 visits will not change a thing
Mimzi Cohen   (07.09.07)
Everyone, sometimes even the U.S., is afraid that if they critcize the Pali terror groups, it will bring terror in thier own Country. Terrorism is proving to be effictive, and that is a scary(why terror is performed) thing.
2. come to Nabus, Prodi!?
Ahmad ,   nablus   (07.09.07)
come as a Palestinian, cross Hawwara check point, live with us for few days, and see how 200,000 Palestinians( children, women, elderies, sick..etc) ar living, then compare with Sderot, absolutely no comparision..
3. #2, You mean Shechem, not the occupiers name, Nablus
David ,   Boston, USA   (07.09.07)
YOu reap what you sow. Big economies instead of trying to destroy Israel. You get what you deserve. You brought it on yourself. Note, because of the checkpoints and the peace fence there are many fewer casualties on both sides. Obviously its working. I hardly consider restricted movement to more more important than life. When you respect life, things change.
4. Livni, You're full of CRAP!
Malcolm   (07.09.07)
After Olmert you are the next biggest bullshitter in the government. You worked hard on the Gaza Surrender and this is the result of your hard work.
5. Prodi's "disbelief" - itself beyond belief
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (07.09.07)
I know Israel's hasbara often leaves much to be desired. But what explains the naivety of these Europeans? They've been told repeatedly of the thousands of rockets that have come over the border, of the people killed and injured. Yet somehow it didn't sink in. They've been provided information about the armed groups under Hamas, and about the myriad other "resistance" groups. They've been told how their funding often ends up with these groups. Yet again it didn't sink in. One can only suspect they've been so taken in by the narrative of the "poor suffering Palestinians" and the "big bad Israelis" that they've generally lost all understanding of what's really going in. Maybe there's hope for them yet. Then again, with the UK's new leader Brown prohibiting the use of the term "Muslim terrorist", maybe not.
6. Reply to #2
Rich ,   Canada   (07.09.07)
Look at the situation in Gaza... Israel withdrew as a gesture and received nothing in return, and Gazan's continue to terrorize southern Israel. Not only that, but the Gaza economy and social programs have gone to complete dissarray since the withdrawl... what do you think would happen if Israel again withdrew unilaterally from the Westbank???? Prosperity for Palestine? I think not.
7. What Prodi was thinking
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.09.07)
He didn't really say what he thought because it was not politically correct for a European or American to say. Here is what Prodi thought as they showed he the Kassem and the number of attacks by the cult of death Palestinian's. How do you Jews put up with this ,I would do to them what was done to the Nazi's,carpet bomb Gaza like Dresden, and much of Germany was wiped out, destroyed ,AND THAT ENDED THE PROBLEM. You Jews are way to soft and easy on your enemies. WHY ??????
8. Ahmad, Nablus and Gaza live on Israel's DIME
Jake   (07.09.07)
fuel water electricity food hospitals a stable currency This is the reality of Israeli 'occupation'.
9. I think Israelis should tell Prodi...
ZS ,   USA   (07.09.07)
"We don't need you to be dismayed or shocked at the damage that was done by these Kassams...so save your dismay....we just need you to understand, and not complain, when we respond harshly"
10. Pathetic
margriet ,   Neth   (07.09.07)
We see the way the Israelis treat the Palestinians. The humiliations and the rockets.... No comparison at all. Prodi, you're an idiot!
11. Ahmad, the answer is very simple...
Avraham ,   NYC   (07.09.07)
You're a descendant of the squatters that have moved from the Arabian Peninsula (the home turf of the Arabs) and occupied the lands in Asia and North Africa beginning the the birth of Islam in the 7th century. You don't belong in the Jewish land. Shchem is historically Jewish. Leave the land to your natural habitat - Arabia - and you won't have to see Israeli checkpoints. If you decide to stay, don't complain. Israeli soldiers are protecting Israeli citizens from terrorists coming from your midst.
12. WELL SAID #3
KACH 613 ,   MEDENAT YEHUDA!!   (07.09.07)
I was in Shachem 2 years ago by Josefs tomb (destroyd by #2 and co.) I saw posters of hate, photos of children wearing bomb vests I dont think you want the Italain PM to see all that #2!
13. Prodi needs to visit Nablus
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (07.09.07)
If Prodi thinks it is impossible to live in Sderot, he needs to visit Nablus. Multiply the damage in Sderot by 1000, and you have Nablus. He needs to visit the Ministry of Information, where Israeli soldiers blew up all birth records and then some. He needs to count the number bullet holes on the average in every single house in Nablus. If it's impossible to live in Sderot it is unimaginable and impossible to live in Nablus, courtesy the Israeli army.
14. can he move to the other side to see if people still living
(07.09.07)
15. #3 you mean killing 200,000 would have worked better?
(07.09.07)
16. come to palestine to see what israel occupation has done
Ahmed ,   Ejerusalem Palestine   (07.09.07)
complete suffereing, injustice and killing....house demolitions, night raids, trees uprooting, humiliation....
17. I decline to believe
baba   (07.09.07)
there is one deducible thing that only dawn is avail there. deliberate a little and tell me it was not deliberative. it may dement you but still deliberate.I can depict you the derivation: everyone going to depart his homeand nothing is going to deter them, no deterrent entity, and no demented one.coz it was deliberately.it sound like im demented but im just a defiant.
18. #13...you forgot to mention a few things...
DR ,   Florida, USA   (07.10.07)
The reason there are bullet holes on these houses is b/c there are terrorists using them to make bombs. The IDF has found many of these "bomb labs" in Nablus, right? You fail to mention the number of palestinians killed by other Palestinians. You fail to mention that Palestinians raise their kids to hate and want to kill jews. You need to paint a fair picture for everyone to see, otherwise you are just another biased person.
19. #2 - Sure, Prodi - come to Schem
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (07.10.07)
risk having somebody blow himself up at your feet. Or how about getting kidnapped? That could be fun.
20. #2 - Enjoy your miserable lives.....
AJ ,   Washington, DC   (07.10.07)
behind check points is where terrorists belong. And don't whine how you're being punished for other people's acts of terror. If the Palestinian people want peace, they can figure out how to stop terror.
21. Certainly out of the ordinary for an EU leader
David P. ,   Central Coast, USA   (07.10.07)
I wonder if Prodi is starting a trend of European Leaders Acknowledging Israel's unique situation.
22. TO # 16 "UPROOTING TREES"
MIKE ,   LOS ANGELES, USA   (07.10.07)
Let me get this straight, your people dont give a damn about your own children...you cut heads offf human beings, you blow up children in buses...BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU'RE CONSIDERED ABOUT TREES?????? LOLOL!!!!!!!!!
23. What about the suffering of the people of Israel
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.10.07)
due to the unwanted kadima/labor/ma-gil gang?
24. #13, really?
Danny   (07.10.07)
So 5 million rockets have been fired at Nablus? Or do you mean relatively because there are 20,000 Sderotis and 200,000 Nablusis, so there have been 50 million rockets? As a matter of curiosity how many suicide bombers have come from Sderot? How many of the people killed in Nablus are "actively involved in hostile activities when killed"? How many of the sderotis killed were "actively involved in hostile activities when killed" - hint it is a very, very round number. Care to back up you claims?
25. Overstating The Visit To Appear Proactive. It Fools No One
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (07.10.07)
Let's not get too excited over Prodi's visit. While the oohs and aahs are comforting, it is not going to solve the terror crisis. What makes things more precarious for S'derot's beleagured Jews is the cavalier attitude that Israel's leaders have toward the suffering of those living within spitting distance of Islamic rocket attacks. Olmert told the people in S'derot in no uncertain terms that the regime can't protect them ad infinitum. It's unreasonable, he exclaimed for a regime to protect its people 24/7. Living in Israel has its risks (yada yada yada), Olmert blithely intoned. So how can Prodi be expected to make sense out of Peres's (non) concern when he called the terror rockets, kassams schmazzams? Can we/should we expect the 'other' to be holier than our own leaders? I think not!
26. PATHETIC MARGRIETH FROM HOLLAND
Jorge ,   Tegucigalpa   (07.10.07)
Palestinians openly state their desire and willingness to destroy Israel and murder all the Jews, as a show that they would do it if they could, Hamas dropped a policeman in Gaza from the 18 floor of a building(one of their "brother" palestinians) and executed many more, the terror against Israel is only contained by those measures that you call "humilliatons", and they cry of joy when an Israeli child is murdered, I would only like to see what you would do or ask your army to do living in conditions similar to those endured by Israelis. as for your attitude, you do not hate Jews, just the Jewish state.
27. #19 It would only be fun if they took you.
(07.10.07)
28. Just a question: what exactly are your diplomats doing?
Canadian Otter   (07.10.07)
Isn't it their jobs to educate the governments where they are posted? What are they doing??? Just attending cocktail parties? The ignorance on the part of decent European people and their leaders is in great part the Israeli government's fault, because of the way it has completely neglected their job of informing the world of what's really going on in Israel and of Israel's historical rights to the land. The only ones doing anything worthwhile seem to be volunteers who are passionate, dedicated and well educated on all the facts, and who have set up informational websites. Israel needs a constant campaign, a pro-active approach to counteract the mounting and very effective Arab propaganda.
29. BottomLine::Come2 Gaza 2feelhow Hamas killed their opponents
