Not to mention a delaying tactic. If you believe that there is anything short of military action which will stop Iranian ambitions to obtain nuclear weapons, you are hopelessly naive. What this & similar articles are saying is here, take a valium & relax. The big noise that will wake you up is an Iranian nuclear weapon exploding somewhere near you, perhaps just a second before you are radioactive dust floating high above the earth.

yeah right! the genocidal regime in Tehran will do whatever it takes to aquire nuclear weapons... unfortuneatly, military confrontation is inevitable... just a case of when.
6. NOTHING NEW
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.13.07)
With confrontaion attitude,Iran had banned the visits of the inspectors. All it has now done is to have lifted the ban because the IAEA has agreed to talk(I dont know if this was a face saving measure approved by USA).Iran had insisted on talks WITHOUT any preconditions. That, fortunately, has been met without us being told about it.So, all that has happened,so far as I can understand,is that the Western countries conceded to the demand which Iran had already laid earlier. The twists and turns in the article looks, however, otherwise. In short, therefore,if you negotiate,Iran will clarify the outstanding issues. You revert to threats, nothing will happen.Well done,Iran
7. #1...really?
DR ,   Florida, USA   (07.13.07)
It is not importnat to stop a religiously fanatic regime from acquiring nuclear weapons? Huh? Sounds like you have learned nothing from the past. If peoplelike you were in power, the Holocaust would happen all over again. After all, We are talking about a nation that still stones people to death for adultery. a little primitive if you ask me!!!
8. Mahmood..we are seeing
DR ,   Florida, USA   (07.13.07)
the first steps of Iran's willingness to comply witht the US. I think they are starting to understand their fate. They know that If they continue to defy everyone, they will be the ones to suffer.
9. Action Plan
Chatich   (07.13.07)
Here's an "action plan" on how to resolve questions about Iran's disputed nuclear program: bomb the crap out them!
10. ARE WE,DR???.....................................#8
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.13.07)
You may choose to interprete the way YOU think is the case. But if you lok at the present scenerio,a case that was already handed over to the Security Council long back, has, without any technical explanation, being handed over to IAEA.As I said, you may seem to feel that this is not the case and Iran conceded to USA's demand. But,let us,together, closely follow the talks and the outcome. If it meets USA's demand.

I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds like another nice stall tactic by Ahmadinejad. By August they will lay some ground rules for inspection. By September they will still be working on coming to a final agreement. Then we'll all have to wait for a few religious holidays to pass. First part of 2008 they'll get right back on it, by then they will at least have enough material for a bunch of dirty bombs, or worse.
13. The Prophet Daniel: America will break if Iran is defeated.
(07.13.07)
I am so thankful the President of Iran is letting the nuclear inspectors in and making concessions to possibly avoid a war. The Prophet Daniel in the Bible links the notable horn's fate to the fate of Iran (Persia). If Persia is defeated, the notable horn will break, Daniel said. The notable horn could not be Alexander the Great b/c he did not have airplanes and Greece was not the westernmost nation. The notable horn (USA) on a he-goat (UN) attacks and defeats a ram with two horns (Media-Persia). Then immediately, the notable horn will break. It is best to find a peaceful solution with Iran if that is possible without risking the world's security. Hashem must have great respect for something about Iran to allow the notable horn to break if Iran is defeated. I do not want to see this happen since I live in America. Israel will be without an ally in the UN if America falls.
14. To dr florida.YOU ARE IRRELEVANT IN MIDDLE EAST
Siad ,   arabian peninsule   (07.13.07)
Florida, you really think that Ahmadineyad will stop nuclear program?????? i tell you NO,Israel anda Usa MUST TO ACCEPT IT.Iran people donĀ“t fear a military confrontation with Usa and the people of Israel, the numbers are not a problem for a muslim country. You understand nothing,my friend.USA is losing inlfuence at arab world and other muslims countrys. You can see Pakistan today, pakistanis want a muslim state, this is a cuestion of time and they will get it, as it happened on Iran, and USA can do nothing.Your words are not important for muslim people, your threats ARE NOT IMPORTANT for Iranians.XDDDDDD!
15. Siad: we don't have to accept...
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (07.13.07)
Just like America is working hard to develop biofuels so the US don't have to buy any oil from the ME. When the US and most of the world decides to use biofuels then I will be sitting comfortable in my home in the US, while your "arabian pennisula" collapes. Then you will suffer your fate like the palis.

18. To DR #8. IF Iran Continues To.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (07.13.07)
I agree with your comment. Iran knows that IF it continues to play hide and seek -- the USA will bomb the enrichment facilities.

Mahmood and Siad, You confuse the restraint of the civilized world with the barbarism of your idols, Ahmadinejad Nasrallah and Assad. There are soon to be three aircraft carrier groups floating in the Persian Gulf. If one of your idols had but one such weapon, He would have annihilated Israel the first day he possessed it. The US will exercise restraint, which your idol fool dictators will interpret as weakness. That will be their fatal mistake. It is but a matter of time, sirs! Your vaunted Revolutionary Guards will get their just desserts when your idol-idiots' arrogant stupidity overcomes the US restraint, as is surely will. Arabs cannot stomach the notion of peaceful coexistence with a superior culture. That is their Achillie's Heel. Barbarians haven't a sliver of a chance...but they don't know it. They will soon re-awaken the sleeping giant. Japan learned the consequences of such folly 62 years ago. Will you Arabs learn from history or repeat it???
20. To Siad #14. At Pakistani Army Soldiers ARE Punishable.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (07.13.07)
You write :"You can see Pakistan today, ...". Madrassas, or Koran Schools, in Pakistan should understand that they can NOT aim their rifles at the Pakistani Army soldiers. Madrassa students aiming their rifles at Pakistani Army soldiers ARE punishable with the death-penalty. WHY ? Because Pakistan Army is protecting the country -- so that everyone in that country can leave peacefully. SO, if you aim your rifle at the Pakistani Army soldiers -- you SHOULD be killed. And THAT is NOT called murder. Firing at your OWN Government soldiers is considered to be treason. Penalty for treason is the DEATH-Penalty. BTW students at the Koran School are meant to GET absorbed and immersed in the Koran Texts. You do NOT need rifles, guns and bombs in order to be able to do THAT !!!
21. Iran's "Concessions"
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.13.07)
Mahmoud, by allowing inspectors back in, only wants to find out what and how much we know about Iran's nuke program. How and where you look for what, gives a pretty good indication of that. When he thinks that he's figured it out, he'll go back to being his usual, charming, sabre-rattling self.
22. (19) & others: why are you so confident about Bush?
sk ,   USA   (07.13.07)
Bush knows that his successor will not wage a necessary war against Iran and that once the military hardware is removed from the area, it will not soon be returned, and that Iraq now gives cover for retaining the hardware and men next to Iran. He must know that if Iran gets nukes, the US will, sooner or later, be attacked with multiple nuclear weapons in multiple cities simultaneously. And yet, I am not at all convinced that Bush will act. He has some connections who predicted everything that Iran would do regarding Iraq, yet he did not take out Iran early on. I agree though that as long as there are those carrier groups there, Bush may still act. The MOMENT one is removed, it's all over.
23. C'mon Folks
john ,   nz   (07.14.07)
Iran is just playing a hide and seek game with the ever-corrupted IAEA chief Baradei and stupig UN inspectors. BTW, the Iranians have learnt a lot of tricks from the late Saddam but they have not learnt Saddam' s final lesson to his grave yet.
