There seems to be a discrepancy between this article and how the U.S. Embassy works. U.S. Nationals are requested to register with the U.S. Embassy. If there are any issues that the U.S. Government needs to convey to U.S. Nationals, they do it by issuing what they refer to as "Warden Notices". They did that a few weeks ago as Hamas was taking control of Gaza. As it relates to this article, I have received no such notice.

The us embassy sends out 'cya' emails warning US citzens about possible terrorist attacks every few months. In every one of these emails they warn US citizens against going to Gaza or the West Bank. This isn't news.
