1. How long before the PA gives them the guns back?
heads up ,   Israel   (07.15.07)
They can even 'legitimately' incorporate them into the security forces to increase them. The 'official' security forces may later be used to attack Israel.
2. Olmert and Barak are unleashing the dogs
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.15.07)
Now the people with blood on their hands will be Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak.
3. On A Scale Of 1 to 10 ....

ben ,   singapore   (07.15.07)

7. Great logic!!
Avraham Rottman ,   Bet Shemesh   (07.15.07)
Great! The incompetent stupid government is happy because they are putting on a show- those who want to kill us are giving their guns to those who want to destroy us. Are we safe yet?
8. most likley just trading
jerome ,   basalt, co   (07.15.07)

9. This is so sick! Olmert out!
BigE ,   Israel   (07.15.07)
Olmert - and his sick sellout of the nation. Because of him, innocent people will die. What will it take for the people to start protesting? Are there no leaders who can organize a daily protests that will grow until the government finally falls.
10. Hopeful Sign. Well Done Olmert, for a change!
Andi ,   Israel   (07.15.07)
This is the most positve sign I have seen for a long time from the PA. This never happened under Arafat. These guys love their personal weapons more than their wives, especially if they've used the same one for a long time. To get them to give them up and agree to join a regulated disciplined security force(in theory-time will tell) is no small achievement. Olmert actually deserves some praise for creative thinking. As long as Israel reserves the right, which it does, to pursue any individual who resorts to terror again, Israel has nothing to lose
11. I have a Bridge to sell Olmert.
GGG   (07.15.07)
What a scam. Olmert I have a bridge to sell you it is a great deal, call me. Not only will these weapons end up right back in their hands as members of the quote on quote security forces they are getting paid for it. "Palestinian Authority will integrate dozens of wanted Fatah gunmen into its security forces"
12. What a LARF...Too bad it will end in TRAGEDY!
Malcolm   (07.15.07)
13. headline is more YNET propoganda
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh   (07.15.07)
14. useless
Nabulsi   (07.15.07)
these so called Palestinian gunman are useless anyway and this merely a propaganda stunt by Abass and Israel to show that the illegal abass appointed government is doing something ... and by the way Zubaidy is a shenbet informer.
15. When did Palestinians keep to ANY agreement with Israel?
Nannette ,   London   (07.15.07)
16. Now Z can pay Medical School fees to become a London Doctor
Alan ,   SA   (07.15.07)
17. We have finally gone beyond the depths of madness....
j ,   jerusalem, israel   (07.15.07)
G-d redeem your land from the hands of the evil men that trample it under foot. Come redeem your land from those sitting in government that give gifts to the enemy and cursings to the people.
18. YNET, YOU LEFT OUT WHERE OLMERT GOT BACK OUR 3 KIDNAPPED IDF
BAD REPORTING ,   ..............DACON9   (07.15.07)

.............DACON9   (07.15.07)
20. Zubaidy works with israel and all of this is a movie
mallook ,   germany   (07.15.07)
come on people.. this is a play.. nothing of this will continue.. its just temporarely thing to try to show they are doing something~~
21. This regiime should go on trial for murder!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.15.07)
These mental cases are killing us and no one cares. We have a regime that is totally crazy and they are our worst enemies.
22. Fatah Gunmen Disarm TEMPORARILY
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (07.15.07)
Ynet omits the following FACT that is part of the "deal": The PA will reissue weapons to many of the 178 who will join the PA's security forces. The 178 terrorists will benefit from a trial period of three months in which they will not be arrested, unless Israel receives information that they are planning terrorism. If during the three months they do not engage in terrorism, they will be officially removed from the "wanted" list.
23. Yeah, they turned in all the ones that don't work anymore!!
jan ,   usa   (07.15.07)
24. #4 thanks
Asem ,   Middle East   (07.15.07)
Very good talk back
25. Surely Olmert Isn't Naive Enough To Trust Them?
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (07.15.07)
Leopards don't change their spots overnight. Surely there are smarter leaders in Israel who know this? The Palestinians have never kept their word about anything. Why start now?
26. This proves Fatah thugs were not protecting the homeland
Said ,   Ramallah, Palestine   (07.15.07)
This proves Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the rest of Fatah thugs were protecting themseleves only, and when they were granted amnesty, they throw them away. The homeland was never their concern, similar to their boss in the moqata, corrupt, west-puppets and they would sell us for an agora. No wonder they lost elections, and they will lose the next one inshalla
27. Deal: Gunmen get amnesty and CASH in exchange for signature
This is a travesty ,   Israel   (07.19.07)
It is a well documented fact that the Fatah members have more than one gun. It's not as if they're registered gun owners, so it's hard to monitor if they turn in all of their guns. Additionally, calling this a 'hand over' is disingenuous. They are SELLING their guns for MARKET PRICE + AMNESTY, getting over 50,000 NIS for some rifles. And what do they give in return? Their 'word'. Does this seem like a reasonable trade-off to anyone with a brain? This deal is RIDICULOUS, and endangers Israelis.
