1. Ancient Landmarks of Jewish History in the Land of Israel
Joseph ,   Beer Sheva, Israel   (07.23.07)
These ancient landmarks should be restored to educate the later generations and all nations of the historical bonds of the Jewish people in their one and only homeland of Israel.
2. Taking a Siddur on a Tnach tour is imperative.
Nat ,   Israel   (07.24.07)
A psalm at each location, or a prayer, depending on the time of day, makes ALL the difference to it's educational value, and makes it alive and relevant. Praying from the Siddur, with a Tnach in hand is awe inspiring.
3. I'm envious
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.24.07)
Being a frustrated archaeologist, how I'd love to retrace some of the footsteps and get the feel of it all. Maybe I could even bring a little trowel and poke into the dirt here and there. Although all the digging for Indian arrowheads in my back yard has only been marginally successful, it did improve the soil conditions for a beautiful garden.
4. Some interesting and intriguing aspects of our history:
Keren ,   SP-Israel   (07.25.07)
One positive aspect ,in my view,is that our history is not made of saints, but of human beings ,with their sins and fails, always striving and struggling to improve. It is an inner battle of the soul. One intriguing aspect is this our tendency(?)to symbiothicaly relate to the enemy. The philistines were maybe one of our's worst enemies in the history, and eventhough King David closely related to them sometimes. It is not a relationship of trust but a relantionship of delusions. Why it happened? Why it keeps happening? -King David loved King Saul;the son of King Saul was his beloved friend, nevertheless they fought against eachother's,and sometimes fought as well ,one in the side of the other(?????????????) Our history of contraditions is very interesting and challenging. Most of the western stories and histories belong to our Torah,to our history:Sansom and Dalila;David and Goliath;the queen of Saba.... Even in the christian bible and muslim's coran, they use our Torah, our History(to their lies). We should be more aware of our greatness than we actually are. Israel must KNOW already that IT IS a light into nations. The collective inconscient of all nations know that, but we seem to insist in being excessively modest and even fools! Thank you Ynet for starting to publish interesting series like this. It might help us understand our present in the light of our past!
