Dear Hanya, The name Israel means "prince with God" or one in whom God rules. This is the name God gave to Jacob after he had wrestled with the angel Peniel at the river Jabbok for an entire night. From that time forward Jacob was crippled since his fleshly strength had been destroyed and in his weakness God had perfected His strength. This is the way it always is with those who are devoted to God, the flesh is destroyed and the spirit is united with the Father in the Son. The Israel of God are His spiritual sons, not the descendants of Israel after the flesh. The reason you believe as you do is that you are still trying to understand spiritual truth with your carnal mind. This is impossible. However God will give you spiritual wisdom if you ask Him for it and then and only then will you know the truth and the truth will set you free.

I am familiar with the scriptures you mention and as with any prophecies there is a tendency for us to import into them our own understanding of the whole counsel of God. I think of it as trying to make a piece of a jigsaw puzzle fit when it seems to be like the space but it just isn't quite right. Unless we have a clear unction from the Spirit as to the precise meaning of a word it is best to leave it alone until He reveals it to us. We also must remember that the scribes and Pharisees, to whom the Lord spoke when He was first here, were all very well versed in the scriptures. Their problem was that they had given an exclusivley literalist and nationalist interpretation to them and as a result the Lord excoriated them for making a nullity of the Law of God by the traditions of men. I believe that the Christian Zionist movement has fallen into the same trap. Incidentally the verses from Zechariah that you mention regarding the "looking on the one they have pierced" are specifically mentioned by the apostle John as being fulfilled at the time of His crucifixion. (John 19:37). The portions from Romans do not carry the meaning given them by Christian Zionists. The verses the apostle quotes regarding those "who were not a people" are from Hosea and were addressed to the House of Israel that God scattered among the nations in the eighth century, the so-called lost tribes. They did indeed multiply as He promised them and became the nations of Europe and their colonies, including the USA. These nations are the very heart of Christendom. However the only way into the Kingdom is by the new birth from above regardless of ethnic origin. The Plan of the Ages of our God is miraculous in its profundity and beauty. FIRST OF ALL giving of prayers and supplications & thanksgiving & intercessions are to be made for all men everywhere, and to pray for kings(presidents), & for those that are in authority that we may live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and hosesty, .... I don't see anywhere in that scripture where it say except for G W BUSH!! Perhaps you have a more recent translation in your bible, but I don't. And if you had read #72 in its entirety , you would have noticed that NO WHERE in there does it say that they agreed with the president and what he was doing by dividing up the land of Israel. You really have a bad case of hate for this president that you cannot allow to fester and take root in your heart. Now just eat a dove bar and get over it already.
