1. Road Map Vision has Backfired.
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.21.07)
Israel had much hope and faith in th U.S. peace agenda for her. She bought in to it ,hook, lie and sinker. Now the rational thinkers in Israel begin to awaken to their dilema and what the peace process has truly brought to the Jewish state. The proud fools will always be in denial and rush headlong to their destruction takiing many souls with them M.r Olmert.
2. The axis of evil at home
Joe Sittizen ,   Israel   (07.21.07)
Hanegbi should look in the mirror to see the real axis of evil. Israel's biggest enemy is in the Knesset: corruption, graft and cronyism. Hanegbi is one of the perpetrators. To start the process of saving us all from our own stupidity, Hanegbi should smarten up and set the example by admitting he's helped corrupt the system and is either resigning his seat to fight corruption from the outside, or is dedicating the rest of this Knesset term to enacting legislation to enshrine accountability in the system. I rather expect he'll choose the 3rd path, to spend most of his time setting up more of his buddies with cushy jobs at the taxpayers' expense while Iran and Syria continue to arm for our destruction.
3. Hello Yossi B.?
David ,   Givatayim   (07.21.07)
Yossi, how can we talk with someone who doesn't want to talk with us?
4. Y. Beilin and talks
Ivri   (07.21.07)
Blah blah blah blah. As usual ,the band of useful idiots is Iran's "Amen corner" in Israel.
5. Yossi Beilin Must Be Deaf & Blind.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.21.07)
It will take a nuclear explosion to wake this idiot up. Yossi, turn up your hearing-aid - didn't you hear Assad promise NOT to enter peace negotiations with us? So, what will we talk about, the weather? Why do you think Ahmadinejad went there? Why do you think Nasrallah was there? I'm surprised a Hamas representative didn't make it. Actually, I'm surprised our loyal Arab MK's didn't show up to demonstrate their solidarity with our enemies. My impression is that the entire Knesset is way out of their depth - they don't have a clue. Forget about Olmert, Livni, & Barak - they're totally useless. Our president Peres is still day-dreaming about Oslo. At a time when we need tough, capable, realistic leaders, we have the worse gov't. in the country's history.
6. yossi beilin
JL ,   israel   (07.21.07)
as usual yossi dons his kneepads yet again...they must be worn out
7. Syria &Iranian threats
Frankie Roosevelt ,   friend of Israel   (07.21.07)
" This is preminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly.Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today.Thisnation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So first of all let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself..nameless,unreasoning,unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance... Pres FDR So Let my great great grand dad's words inspire Israel to stand tall against her enemies and fight the good fight for your very lives and country are at stake!
8. WHAT IS WORSE THAN OLMERT AS PM?
(07.21.07)
A. BEILIN
9. Unfortunately you talkbackers no nothing about politics.
Mike ,   TA   (07.21.07)
The FIRST thing Israel should do in light of this report is to openly and in front of the world media announce it's willingness to enter serious peace talks with Syria regarding the return of the Golan Heights. It should be made as clear as possible that Israel wants peace and not to keep the Golan. Think of the possibilities. Either Syria accepts, thus backing away from the Iranian agreement (that you are all so scared of, although I suspect some of you war-lovers actually like) or Syria will be in front of the entire world clearly choosing war and disaster over peace and the return of their occupied land. Either way, Israel wins.
10. Blame Bush for overthrowing Saddam
Howard K ,   NYC   (07.21.07)
Now there's nobody in the ME to counteract Iran's ambitions.
11. Lieberman calling for emergency national government?
Howard K ,   NYC   (07.21.07)
How opportunistic! A convenient "life support" system for a government without electoral support.
12. misguided
Jack ,   USA   (07.21.07)
If the Israeli govt and the left was simply misguided in relation to some internal policy we could understand that but the matter is life and death, Where is Netanyahu?
13. Let's find out.
Persian CAT   (07.21.07)
None of these gentlemen have provided ANY proof for their claim that Iran will "broker" arms for Syria from N. Korea and other places in exchange for a "promise" that Syria will not enter peace negotiations with Israel, in spite of the fact that latter has NEVER made any serious peace offer to her. These men are alarmist political opportunists who want to take advantage of Israeli people's fragile conditions caused by a humiliating defeat by Hezb, incompetent and corrupt leaders at home and no viable peace process to speak of other than the road map which was bulldozed by Sharon and company a long time ago and GW stood by and watched like a Texas cow put out to pasture. Let's test these gentlemen's claims. Let Israel put a SERIOUS peace proposal on the table and if Syria rejects that start blaming whoever you want. But until then Israel has not legs to stand on as far as PEACE is concerned.
14. We must INVADE Syria!!!!!
(07.21.07)
15. 13 - These MKs relied on Arab sources
reader ,   USA   (07.21.07)
If you click on the link in the article, you will see that the MKs based their reactions on a report by an Arab-language newspaper, which quoted an Iranian source. The report was very specific regarding the arms that will be transferred to Syria from Iran, suggesting that it's more than just rumors. But, as usual, you have a knee-jerk reaction to discount as false ANY criticism by Israel to Iran or Arab regimes.
16. #9..Mike
Nemesis   (07.21.07)
Israel is surrounded by enemies waiting forthe right moment, with the weakest, incompetent gov't ever..and you still want to talk? Give away the Golan? Israel might just as well surrender now. How naive can you be? There should be no more talking..Arabs see it as weakness...preparing for what might be around the corner..war..from all sides,is what Israel should be doing now.
17. PM Feiglin with Netanyahu government needed ASAP!
Josh   (07.21.07)
18. #13 Take your bottom lip and pull it over your face!!!
Your words are mean- ,   ingless& useless   (07.21.07)
19. Actually Hashem is now setting the stage &
Joseph ,   Israel   (07.21.07)
bringing all of these groups together. They've always been here but they have not all been acting as one voice. And the anger of Hashem will eventually be felt by all groups. And then they will no longer have one voice to spew out their hatred. Baruch Hashem Adonai!
20. Whaaa??? MKs are waking up????
Malcolm   (07.21.07)
It's hard to believe!!! Power hungry MKs are waking up from their drunk stupor. Something must be wrong is the State of Israel. This is sheer insanity!!!
21. to # 9 DREAMING
Brooke   (07.21.07)
There is one crucial flaw in your analysis. If Bashar accepts the retun of the Golan Heights-- which of course he would.--- Assad would not keep his word and will continue, either overtly or covertly, fratenizing with all your sworn enemies. An Arab will only enter into a Hudna and never a true and lasting peace deal. This is what the cowardly Left knows and yet they murderously continue to sacrifice Israel. How much does it cost to look away and pretend you have peace partners in the ME?? G-d save Israel from itself.
22. Beilin was the architect of Oslo... and a TRAITOR!
Nannette ,   London   (07.21.07)
Of course he'll talk... and he'll trust the Iranians and Syrians, like he trusted Arafat!
23. to #9 mike
freejay ,   Israel   (07.21.07)
Are you nuts? If we offer them Golan for peace they will pretend they are interested, accept the Golan then attack us from there. Look what happened in Gaza, Lebanon. Unfortunately you Leftie yuppie Tel Avivians know nothing about the Arab mindset.
24. #15. You are right they did "rely" on Arab sources.
Persian CAT   (07.21.07)
The source was Asharq Alawsatm which means the Middle East. It is a notorious Saudi financed and controlled rag in Lebanon, which used and Iranian supplier of gossips who belongs to the MEK terrorist group. Now if YOU deem these "sources" credible, be my guest. But remember the same Saudis train and export ALL jihadi murderers who have blown up Shiites, Jews and Americans as a "religious duty" due to Fatwas by their criminal Imams. Read Hersh's article in the March issue of New Yorker. BTW, not a SINGEL Iranian has ever been accused nor caught for committing terror against Jews or Americans. Of course there are a lot of gossips coming from the same kind of "sources" about the myth Iranian terror. But NO ONE has come forward with any evidence or proof, ever.
25. to #13, Iranian Rat.....you sound worried
freejay3 ,   Israel   (07.21.07)
26. #13, wrong
Jon D. ,   Sheridan, IN. USA   (07.21.07)
To 9 & 13: Since when have any suggestions such as yours worked. The left continues to promote this line of give them what they want, yet it has gotten Israel nowhere. The right predicted exactly what has already happened in Gaza with the pullout. When have those in the lefty bliss-ninny peace at any cost crowd been right? The answer is never, you pretend like it's someone else's fault again and again when your policies fail. Olmert has listened to the left for far too long.
27. #'s 16, 21 and 23 - Why do you reject common sense?
Mike ,   TA   (07.21.07)
"An Arab will only enter into a Hudna and never a true and lasting peace deal. This is what the cowardly Left knows and yet they murderously continue to sacrifice Israel." "Are you nuts? If we offer them Golan for peace they will pretend they are interested, accept the Golan then attack us from there ... Unfortunately you Leftie yuppie Tel Avivians know nothing about the Arab mindset. " Don't you ever wonder why we are attacked by Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians, but are never attacked by Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya and so on..? Does it not fit into your twisted minds that we are constantly attacked by people who's lands we occupy?? We militarily occupy Palestinians land, we still control the Shebaa Farms and the Golan Heights. Since we withdrew from the Sinai how many rockets were launched from Cairo at Tel Aviv? How about from Amman? Or Riyadh? Whether you agree that these lands are Israeli or not, you must accept that Syria claims the Golan to be theirs, and Lebanon claims the Sheba Farms, and THOSE are the countries threatening us, not the ones that we talk and negotiate with, like Egypt and Jordan. It's really, really not that complicated!
28. Failed, Failed Leadership
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (07.21.07)
As usual Beilin's answer is CAPITUALTION. If the regime has any balls left it will preempt Hizbullah and not wait until THEY decide to strike. Everyone who is not insane realizes that Hizbullah is arming for a more deadly round. IF the IDF decimates them for good the Syrians will be loathe to make their move. As usual the regime is paralyzed and leaning toward appeasement mode. No wonder the sharks are circling in for the kill!
29. 24 - Who to believe? Which sources are trustworthy?
confused ,   Washington   (07.21.07)
If I recall correctly, in talkbacks for other articles, you have repeatedly slammed western news agencies for anti-Muslim bias. You have now rejected Saudi-financed news agencies. (BTW, to my knowledge, the paper is London-based, not Lebanese based, but whatever). Given your denigration of Sunni regimes in previous talkbacks, it's probably safe to assume that, in your eyes, the same applies to papers financed by other Sunni-led nations. Which news sources are then acceptable, in your opinion? Iranian ones? Because those are so free and unbiased...
30. #27 Mike- Israel was attacked repeatedly before it "occupied
Mark ,   Philadelphia   (07.21.07)
any "Arab" lands. 1948, 1967.... And it continues to be attacked from Gaza, a land that it no longer "occupies" (Jewish land too, by the way).
