I would very much appreicate it if she would denounce Jimmy Carter's recent books as well as his current subversion with Hamas that undermines United States foreign policy. That is an issue with the Democratic party here which concerns me that I have not heard denounciations of Jimmy Carter's book at all. But I could think of worse candidates on teh Democratic side, and I have not seen yet what the Republicans have to offer. Israel is not the only country where Democracy presents limited choice based on interests often separate from those voting, and where the voter many times chooses the least oppresive of the options available. These are tough times so I do not expect an easy choice in the upcoming elections. For those making Alyiah, there is Olmert or Hillary. Who is more left-wing?

Hillary is the absolutely wrong person to be Commander-In-Chief of the United States while we are engaged in a war against Islamic terrorism. Not only has she a history of antisemitism remarks (when she was in Arkansas), her husband Bill receives millions from Dubai. On her personal integrity: When they were investigating her law firm, her records conveniently disappeared. When she speaks to Black groups, she puts on a phony southern accent. Last week she was accused of trying to act like a man, so she immediately wore a low-cut neckline to look feminine. She was for the Iraq war when she wanted to look tough. Now she is against the war to appease the voters on the Left. The most dishonest thing about Hillary is her marriage. If it weren't for her political aspirations she would have dumped her unfaithful husband years ago. What has she accomplished? What does she stand for? Can she be trusted? Does she have any moral integrity?

Mr. Herbits' offered resignation should be accepted as of now. He can have an "interim" until a new person gets going. He should have gone out first, then made the announcement about Ms. Clinton. Many of us out here object to the implication that the World Jewish Congress endorses one political party. I don't know how these Jewish leaders get away with connecting American Jewish organizations at the hip with the Democratic Party. I vote for Democrats about half the time, but I don't expect organizations that are related to my religion to be used as a political base for ANY political party.

Meaning, both parties are bad, but the Reps are not so much worse than the Dems to justify an automatic Dem vote. Other issue should be much more important. That would teach the Dems to assume that they have the gay vote in their pocket. If we go beyond the hoosexual biz, sentient readers might wonder how astute Herbits could have been, given his bungling over the timing of his announcement, and his idiotic belief that Hillary will be any good. I'd go further: Herbits is a complete partisan hack because there is every reason to believe that Guiliani would be better on gay issues than Hillary, and McCain wouldn't be all that bad. He obviously doesn't care about Jews, and he doesn't care about gay people either. And that gets back to why American Jews are as stupid as Israeli ones in their support of the left--including the WJC.

Where I live (fly over country, out west), no one that I know of any religion, ethnic background, etc. has any issue with GLTB rights, acceptance, etc. NYC is too ingrown and not as kind as other places. My issue (I wrote TB #8) is Jewish organizations' identification with the Democratic Party (who aren't really doing any better with GLTB progress, and absolutely dismally on security issues as relates to the Jewish community and Israel) when we, their sponsors, did not ask them to speak on party politics for us. That's not their role. If they want it to be, they need to hold votes and referendums so that they accurately quote the percentages when they assume that they presume to speak for all of us.

Assuming my last TB will be posted, I'm adding a brief p.s. to it. I know why I participate in TBs here, Reuven--they provide an opportunity to let off steam and to do some desktop activism until I can do the real thing in Israel. Those who already agree with you? If so, what do you add to what they write?
