Please do not compare Yeshivat Esder to the Haredi yeshivot. The young men of Yeshivat Esder are national religious (dati leumi), the Haredim you know who they are. True there are a lot of seculars not enlisting in the IDF but it's not accepted by the seculars. The Haredim's evading the army is accepted and encouraged by the Haredim as a whole.

How much yirat Shamayim can arise from this secular army? And how many would fall away? Would you send your orthodox children to learn in a secular public school? If the Rambam would see what the "Jewish" army looks like today, he would faint... and definitely agree with the Rabbanim. Don't you think the Rabbis know better than you what they're doing? I have a question. If candle lighting before Shabbat is only a tradition, then where did the tradition come from? I'm asking this since many traditions that seem innocent have their roots in paganism; So I'm a little curious about whether or not it's so with candle lighting.

It is wonderful there are tefilot 3 times a day on the base. Even when training in the field they always made sure to stop for tefillot. Everyday in training there is a "Shuir Torah" from a rav or an hour to learn Torah in the Beit Midrash. Even in the middle of Shvuat Milchama, they brought out a Rav to the shetach so we would not go a full week without hearing some Torah. The Kashrut it 100% and there are no women at all. One night as was doing shmira at the “Shin Gimel” or the entrance to the base and there were women soldiers that wanted to come in and it was a massive “balagan”. There is no reason why Charedim can’t join Nachal Charedi.
