1. To Jail
Moshavnik ,   Israel   (08.03.07)
None of them appear to be suffering from any serious physical or mental disabilities and none are Haredim. If they are not in the army or performing national service their place is in jail not on our TV screens.
2. capitalism, liberalism, falafelism.
E.S. ,   montreal, canada   (08.03.07)
Sad to say, but there is nothing we can do. These people don't care about Israel, all they want is getting rich or -- maybe -- die trying. They're just trying to be famous, be on TV, and basically they don't need Israel for that; they could follow that social process in the US or Europe, abroad. Call it capitalism, liberalism, medias getting crazy, lost of jewish values, you name it. Make them feel ashame about dodging the army is not a bad thing, though it should be done with the abrogation of the stupid Tal Law.
3. # 2..it sounds more like NEMOSHISM.

4. Serve or lose your citizenship.

these coxinells dont deserve the privileges of a citizen.
5. Jail them for five years.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.03.07)
Then expel them from Israel permanently.Strip them of their citizenship.
6. shame on you !
freda ,   Israel   (08.04.07)
Once upon a time if you didnt serve in the army no employer would hire you. It should be the same here. It is no shame to serve your country because without our soldiers there would be no country. Shame is on the freeloaders who apparently have no shame.
7. Israel cannot afford a volunteer army but .....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (08.04.07)
It is a disgrace that some of our youth, religious or secular, find some way or other of dodging going to the army or doing National Service. This being so, force is not going to work. We are in the 21st Century and the "old criteria" just don't apple today. Those who do not want to go to the army should be given the opportunity of doing National Service in the Fire Brigade, Magen David Adom, the Police, particularly as on the beat policemen, helping in hospitals and assisting the aged. In this way they will be contributing to the welfare of others as well as the State. Those who serve in the IDF should be rewarded with something like the US GI Bill. Free university tuition, greater housing benefits and so on and these MUST apply to soldiers who have been injured while serving, even if only for a short period. However, those who are injured as a result of road and other accidents while under the influence of drugs or alcohol or due to totally negligent or reckless driving must lose some, if not all, of the benefits. Those who opt out and choose to do some form of National Service should also receive some of the benefits, for example a lower rate of free university tuition. This would not apply for those who serve in other dangerous positions like the Police, MDA or Fire Service. You serve, you are rewarded. You opt out totally or sit on your butt at home or in a yeshiva and do not contribute, you get what you give - NOTHING! The problem is that the politicians and the Government take no heed of what the public thinks or writes in any language. They are just too busy looking after their own interests!
8. #1-6
Logic ,   Israel   (08.04.07)
Just don't watch the show. If no one watches the show, then the advertisers won't work with them, and then the show will go off the air, and then the contestants can go back to singing in the shower.
9. Draft dodgers
Ros ,   Tel Aviv   (08.06.07)
Everyone over the age of 18 should be called up irrespective - if they cannot serve in the IDF, they should be given another task, hospital, care of elderly people, etc. etc. what a source of incredible manpower!!!
10. Civil Side
Samia ,   NYC   (08.31.07)
I'm an expert on the talent level of the "stars" you are talking about. Yes, Israel needs the military to remain strong and defend. From my perspective it seems as these folks may be serving as cultural warriors. Your country has so many wonderful artists that lack representation in the global marketplace. If you are to gain the global support you deserve...these cultural ambassadors are as much necessity as your military service.
