I don't think that a moral reason was uppermost on the MKs mind. Think harder. What interests are at stake here? Are there people of influence benefitting from cheap labor? Are there anti-religious forces who want to dilute the Jewishness of Israel? Are there foreign influences (Arab perhaps?) at work on some of the MKs?
