10. cleared
teh soldier was cleared by Israeli officials and that STANDS as far as i am concerned...the british are just trying to appease the moslem population now living in britain ....britian is no friend of Israel..britain is a friend of the british moslems who seek to help destroy all that Israel stands for...i am living in britain at the moment and witness first hand at how double standards with Jews and moslems are widely preevelent in the country...moslems can have illegal terror orginisations..moslems can rally in the streets calling for murder of Jews..Jews can only be silent and do as they are told in britain...

as he was entering the Tube train compartment at Stockwell Station in South London.
Will Brits be putting the SAS group -who filled him with lead -on trial even though they claim it was a mistaken identity.

15. Timetable
They should not be prosecuted at all. If Europeans want to engage in adventure tourism, let them ride the public buses in Israel.
How about prosecuting those responsible for murdering 7000 refugees after the end of WWII.

19. have you noticed
have you ever noticed and wonder why the british who favour moslems to Jews always seem to be pals with the terrorists of gaza and west bank...perhaps if the british did even handed reporting and reported from the Israeli side of things they wouldnt get shot or killed in the first place..at least reporting on the Israeli side of the fence the IDF and citizens try and guarantee their safety..but reporting on the terrorist side they only can guarantee themselves from kidnappings, murders and being shot by the palis themselves.....

20. This is British self-loathing at work
The fact that the journalist concerned had worked for the BBC cannot be underestimated in what is happening now.
Unique outside the great dictatorships - and with an editorial line of reading from pre-prepared scripts only emulated in Lenin's Russia and, later, Nazi Germany - the nascent British Broadcasting Company was, by 1926, effectively nationalized and funded by a compulsory licence-fee, non-payment of which is still punishable by imprisonment, became Britain's only legal broadcaster with a royal mandate to "inform, educate and entertain."
The BBC is now the world's largest broadcaster, makes sufficient money without the licence-fee from sales to provide the services of a public broadcaster, but although now having to compete, is so culturally, politically, institutionally and even constitutionally bound up with all that it means to be British - in a society that is governed, moreover by an unwritten constitution of various statutes merely knit together by a deep sense of tradition and respect for the law - that to attack the BBC is to attack the very concept of "Britishness" itself.
The BBC remains over-conscious in Britain's post-imperial society of its importance in the world and yet, although rightly aknowledging that the BBC for years remained the only source of objective and uncensored news for many millions worldwide, becomes outraged when one of its former employees is murdered or the BBC itself is criticized. The state shares this outrage, intervenes, and decides to act against such effrontery.
It is now apparent that the BBC has lost all sense of what it means to be a public service broadcaster and has, consumed as it is with political correctness and a liberal left bias (perfectly in keeping with much of its Fabian past), regards Miller's death as if one of its employees were an ambassador, travelling on a diplomatic passport with the inscription: Her Britannic Majesty's principal Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs requests and requires the bearer of this passport to pass freely without let or hindrance.... etc., etc., etc.
They - and the British government and the British people - must realize that Miller was not acting in an official capacity for the British state, that the BBC is a supposed and so-called independent and impartial broadcaster, not an arm of government, and that the Gaza isn't a village green somewhere in the sunny uplands of Middle, Merrie Olde England, where Islamo-fascist Hamas terrorists are playing bowls outside the village pub after attending Evensong in the 12th Century Norman church.
The real problem lies in the fact that the nabobs of both Broadcasting House and Westminster are so consumed with post-colonialist guilt that they do not - and seemingly cannot - understand that when London is bombed, it becomes the front line in the same war that is taking place in the Gaza. And that, sad as it is, people tend to die in wars. It's just a fact.
What we are seeing is nothing more than British slef-loathing at work. And who, traditionally, pays for guilt? Why, the Jews of course. And conveniently, the Jewish state. Jesus (a Jew) was nailed to a cross as a "full, perfect and sufficient sacrifice, oblation and satisfaction for the sins of the whole world" according to Thomas Cranmer, author of the Book of Common Prayer - but somehow, that just ain't enough for the BBC as the mouthpiece of New Labour's Britain.

21. Israel rejects UK ultimatum to try soldier
My response to the person who first sent me info on this issue is the following:
Are we now to extradite every person who is accused of a crime against a person of another country to the country of the purported victim for trial?
If so, then there are a WHOLE lot of people (worldwide) who need to be extradited to both the US and Israel for the crimes they've (allegedly) committed against the citizens of those countries.
The UK cannot have it both ways. If they desire this soldier to be extradited, then the others to whom I've referred need also to be extradited. There cannot be two (2) standards.

22. To # 21- Steven Katz
Indeed, must we all start extraditing as you suggest?
Well, in fact the British are. The British signed an extradition treaty with the USA last year in which - despite the fact that the British will not extradite terrorists convicted in British courts to Arab countries where they might face the death penalty - a request for extradition at State level can now see - and has seen - the extradition of a British citizen to a constituent State of the American Union for a crime bearing the death penalty WITHOUT having his case heard before a British magistrate or judge. All the Americans need to do is to issue a warrant, and off the presumed criminal goes - possibly to his death - in complete and flagrant disregard for the traditional right of habeas corpus, based on the solemn undertakings of King John in Magna Carta, signed in 1215.
If you think that is bad enough, Britain has also - by decree, without debate in Parliament - just recently enacted a law emanating from the European Union in Brussels, allowing for the summary arrest and deportation of a British citizen accused of a crime in a another European Union member state WITHOUT said crime in fact being a crime in Britain. (There is no death penalty in any European Union member state as a condition of Union membership.)
From this we can see two things: Britain's utter duplicity in allowing one of its citizens to face the death penalty in America but not in an Arab, Moslem state; and Britain's utter disregard for the the principles of habeas corpus and the assumption of innocence before proven guilt under a foreign legal system recognized as competent in comparison with British justice.
But it also demonstrates the fact that toward its own citizens, Britain now has little or no concept of the integrity of the state, its sovereignty or recognition of due process.
As such, however do you expect it to behave toward a foreign and sovereign power such as Israel, a country held in contempt by most of Britain's governing class? They are treating the Israeli subject of the proposed warrant of extradition no better than they would one of their own citizens. And that is abominably.
In this instance it is less to do with two standards but of one: utter and complete contempt for the rights of the individual - whatever his nationality. This is why the British governing class can think the way they do and are thinking it.
When our legislators flout the law, freedom and democracy are endangered. When, outside the legislative process, our legislators decide which law will be applied and which not, freedom and democracy are no more. Welcome to Fascist Britain.
