Guy ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.16.07)
it is preposterous to think that Europe would even allow to host such an unscrupulous lobby. They're taking their stand with muslim extremists that stone their own people. to Chaya: give me his email also, id like to thank him personnaly also.
8. How refreshing that Poles care about Israel...
Rivkah   (08.16.07)
I have read so many negative things about Polish people hating Israel, this really changes some of my feelings toward Poles on that issue.
9. Thank you Poland
MARK ,   USA   (08.16.07)
Thank you very much Poland! I appreciate their help. Jews do not hate Poles. We hate Anti-Semitism.
10. Will Germany speak out?
MARK ,   USA   (08.16.07)
Will other countries oppose this conference? How about a conference promoting peace and harmony.
11. Poland can sit on its tumbs, but the world still turns
Mr. Knowitall ,   Frostbite Falls, MN   (08.16.07)
The conference is not even about Israel, it is about the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and not about Israel other that Israel is the regime who seeks to deny the Palestinian People their Inalienable Rights through illegal occupation.. Anyone who tries to claim that by discussing the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People is anti-Semitic or anti-Israel is in fact attempting to deny the Palestinian People their Inalienable Rights and have their own sinister goals.

15. And Poettering sits on his hands.
Hans ,   Markdorf, Germany   (08.16.07)
Make him stand up and shout for Israel. That would make a change for Poettering and UN. What are they paid for?
16. Most of Poles is for Israel or just against Muslims
Maciej ,   Gdynia, Poland   (08.16.07)
Only a small minority (related with demonized Radio Maryja) hates Israel. It is only a few thousand of Poles vs 40 milions of the rest. I think that more Israelis hate Poles (according to the false knowledge of Polish reality) than we have anti-Semites here. Don't forget that Poland is one of most pro Israeli and pro US countries in the world. and Sometimes we pay a high price for that (Our soldiers killed Iraq, Afganistan). In my personal opinion this conference is a real scandal. Shalom! Maciek
17. Polish support for Israel
Nachman ,   Yerushalayim I"H   (08.16.07)
And the reason is ... Not many Muslims live in Poland!
18. This is the part I don't understand
Sad and concerned   (08.16.07)
Israelis and Jews everywhere get - and justifiably so - alarmed whenever there is a verbal attack on Israel or any serious threat to the country. So far, so good. Bu then why are Jews and Israelis so viciously mean to other Jews? Starting with the way the government treats its own people, whether they are settlers, Holocaust survivors, soldiers, or other groups in the country. Following with the way the citizens themselves refer to their own favorite Jewish targets, whether they are the settlers, the Haredi, or whoever. I've read numerous expressions of hatred against some Jews that belong on white supremacist websites, not on the readers' comments section of a mainstream Israeli website - and they are written by other Jews!!! And what about Jews working relentlessly in Israel to dissolve the Jewish nature of the country, such as Peace Now. They'd rather embrace those who want to kill them than to embrace and protect innocent Jews. And I won't even go into the shameful behavior of Israeli academia, or the self-hateful expressions of Jews in academia or the media business all over the world. It's hard to defend Israel and then read the next day a story of how a particular Jewish group in Israel is being denigrated or deprived of their rights by other Jews. What is one supposed to say then? Why was it that the violent expulsion of Jews from their homes didn't provoke an uprising on the part of the whole population? Why is it that the government is making plans for the expulsion of more Jews and nobody says anything? If this was happening anywhere else it would be condemned as a violation of human rights. But Jews are violating the rights of other Jews and nobody seems to mind very much. Not even the Jews themselves.
19. Maciek
MARK ,   usa   (08.16.07)
Jewish people do not hear that Poland is Pro USA and Pro Israel. Sadly, we hear about all the Anti-Semitic events coming from Poland. The media loves to focus on negative stories. Thanks for your support. Thanks for being a good friend to Israel. I know Polish/Israeli relations are very good. Thanks for your support!! I want to thank the Polish people for being a good friend to Israel.
20. Bravo
Kerry ,   Redlands, USA   (08.16.07)
Now for Israel to further promote herself, however, I doubt if this will work with the shameful EU, and UN.
21. Right, email the Polish Embassy
Kerry ,   Redlands, USA   (08.17.07)
I just did. Smiles, A Deist, Goy
22. #18
(08.16.07)
sad but true. instead of hugging together and consolidating against the enemies surrounding us, we are divisive, complaining, accusatory and judgemental. this is so very jewish, though. they are pron to criticism and judgements. it's in their nature. thatnks god israel is a democracy. so many parties with so many opinions i have never seen. this is the nature of the beast. this behavior in a muslim opressive country would have seen 100% of the population hanged and stoned already. so, thanks to the democracy. however, political correctness in israel is bringing the country and its spirit of cohesiveness down.
23. oh. what a big deal !
(08.17.07)
24. I salute their courage
C McCoy ,   Canada   (08.17.07)
Given that many of the voters they will have to face again are rather antiSemitic, it takes a huge amount of courage to take a moral position like this.
25. #21, #18
Charles ,   USA   (08.17.07)
It has never been the nature of the Jews to be complacent and self-satisfied. Rather, our tradition is to be self-critical, probing, and intellectually honest. This tendency is both a weakness and a strength: it can make us fractious and petty, but it also means we do not readily buy into the mindless degradation of groupthink. Props to the Polish MEPs who are likewise resisting mindless bigotry. Perhaps they are somehow better equipped than their continental neighbors to remember what happened the last time European powers started making the Jews the world's villains. The spring of 1945 was not quite so pretty in Warsaw as it was in Paris.
26. #11 Nice try...
Charles ,   USA   (08.17.07)
...but you can't sanitize the Palestinian terrorists just by hijacking language from the U.S. Declaration of Independence. The concept of "inalienable rights" doesn't include strapping bombs to children so that they can blow up civilians in a public market in their effort to wipe Israel from the map. Plenty of Arabs live happily and prosperously in Israel. The Palestinian terrorists don't want life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; they just want Jewish blood.
27. To #21
M. Harltey ,   Atlanta, US   (08.17.07)
Are you a Deist for real?
28. Bless Poland
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (08.17.07)
Only Poland is taking a stand Britain etc are probably encouraging it. G-d bless Poland. The others can go jump in the lake.
29. The NGO's sh'd talk, inalienable rights of the Kurdish people
chanan ,   USA   (08.17.07)
40 million people without one country to call their own compared to Arabs with 22 countries and it is still not enough for them. At the same time Arabs deny Kurdish rights for a country.

shmulke ,   w coast, USA   (08.17.07)
You're full of bull, winkle. Your reasoning is quite rocky, and you greatly boris with your old busted propaganda. Israel is neither "illegal" nor an "occupier". The difference is: If the "palestinians" would lay down their weapons, there would be no more war. If the israelis put down their weapons, there would be no more israel.
