Mindless does not begin to describe the circumstances of many of our young people. Since coming to Israel 3 yrs ago, I have been shocked by the poor quality of education in a large segment of Israeli society. I'm not an "old fashioned" guy, I'm really pretty liberal (no one laugh - I'm only a hawk on security issues) - but this story just illustrates the low intellectual level that is all too common here. Values are part of a persons intellectual level as well as educational attainment. And you're right, it is both religious & secular. This is happening all over the world but I didn't expect it (or so much of it) in a supposedly Jewish country. And for those of you who mentioned the girls parents - they are just as much a product of our difficient educational system as she is. If we don't improve our educational system soon, our survival as a country will be problematic.

I have a kid from a previous marriage who chilled in Isreal for 10 years all the while learning nothing.. Well I got him back to Canada where the bears fart in the woods and where the goyim have a way of reminding the Jews they are Jews. It took alot of tough love and hard knocks to get him straight, Nothing like a good whippin at the hands of a goy to set one straight. We here more and more in the news about young women seduced by online predators and hurt. The fact that ANYONE either Jew or Arab would politicize this issue when this poor girl was clearly abused, dominated and exploited is abhorrent.

When I was 17, I was waitressing at a rather shady bar in Haifa area. I wanted to have my own money, not to ask for anything from my parents, we just immigrated. so that summer I worked as a counselor at a summer camp in the mornings, as a clerk at a furniture store in the evenings, and as a waitress in that awful bar (as an adult, I wouldn't put my foot in a place like that). I convinced my mom that it was a perfectly good place, safe and clean. One night we had a group of Israeli Arab men drinking there. I was asked to sit with them and chat. Very soon two of them offered to buy me. I laughed it off and told my boss (a Jew). At the end of the night the older female employee (whatever she did there, I don't know) sat down with me, stroked my hair and told me that I'm a good kid, and that a nice girl like me could make a lot of money with men like that. She was sweet to me, she talked to me as if I were her child, asked me about the needs of my family, wouldn't I want to help them. It was like a spell, I felt entranced by her (again - 17). I promised to think about it and left. Only when I got home and saw my mom, I snapped out of it. I never told my family about this (my mom would only blame herself for this whole thing, really unnecessary even now). I called them and said I'm not coming back. I can also tell a story of my high school girlfriend whose tutor (old, fat ugly and married) talked her into making out sessions - she adored him blindly for his "wisdom", she just got dumped by a boyfriend, felt lonely, and he offered to "check" whether she knows how to make out. Now she is a smart successful career woman with a family of her own, and I never bring this up. It's so easy to talk a young girl into doing things she doesn't really want to do. To manipulate, to use her weaknesses against her, to abuse her trust. Especially if that girl comes from a home where there's no firm core, no support. I would start with questioning the parents. There always will be male predators, it's axiomatic. The question is who is their prey. They know how to pick a "limping gazelle".

It does happen, but mostly in the movies where an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian girl will become romantically involved. The reason that it isn't very common in real life is because the consequences of dating a Jewish guy, if you're a Muslim girl, can sometimes involve a lot of nasty injuries and even death.
