I noticed your post was signed, "Steve US". Does the US stand for utterly stupid? While I share your opinion of Bush, to say that "America" is no friend of Israel covers all the people of America. I am in America and I am most definitely a friend of Israel. If you feel this way about America, why are you here? Are you afraid you may have to serve in the IDF? Get your head out of your rearend.
32. #14---Moscow
ER ,   Canada   (08.20.07)
Bob, don’t judge Israel by these talkback comments. Just about 90% are from Christians posing as Jews! The best clue is when they use Christian translations of Torah. A perfect example is Joseph who sneaks in the word “pierced” which doesn’t exist in the original Hebrew text.
33. #31 Ephraim - Re Steve - No need to resort to insulsts
Howard K ,   NYC   (08.20.07)
and disrespect. Steve has presented facts - do you argue with them? - The defense package as bribery - True - Bush's anti-Jewish attitude - true. Since he has enjoyed the support of the pro-Israel evangelicals, he has had to couch his antipathy toward Jews and Israel with a rhetoric of "peace in the Middle East". What this peace translates into is nothing less than the dismemberment of Israel and its possible fall as a result. - And the results of Bush's policies? A mess. Iraq, Afghanistan, where bombs kill civilians every day. Chaos. What else? An Iran going about its business of building up its nukes undisturbed. And the cherry on the cake? An indefensible Israel, ten miles wide. If Bush still strikes you as pro-Israel, you need to reflect on it some more. The fact that you are pro-Israel, is of little consequence, since neither you nor other pro-Israel Americans have been able to stop the destruction of Israel by means of the American devious foreign policy. And one little detail before I forget. Bush father and son carry a very uncomfortable baggage of extremely close relationship with the Saudis. Very, very close. Guess whose interests are foremost in the House of Bush? Read House of Bush House of Saud, by Craig Unger
34. #28: Toward the end of his life, Casper Weinberger was
Rivkah   (08.20.07)
regretful about Jonathan Pollard. What Casper Weinberger did while in office, I do not know. He expresses sympathy and then does not follow through or act on his sympathies was what I noticed about him. He was a caring person, but reluctant to put that into action for individuals. He was more concerned about wild goats stranded on an island in the South Pacific he ordered rescued, than about individuals, sadly. Few will risk their positions to help an individual who may be right but who has a lot of enemies who will attack anyone who helps the person.
35. #30 Ephraim: That is a much greater fulfillment of prophecy
Rivkah   (08.20.07)
for sure. The Messiah will be on the Throne of David at that time.
36. Many Americans may be pro-Israel, but the government
Ken   (08.21.07)
sure is not. That's the difference
37. Ephraim: #31: I fully intend to immigrate
Steve ,   U.S.   (08.20.07)
Ephraim, don't play the innocent part. You know what I meant. Obviously I am not speaking of all Americans -- we have many fine friends --- but the current government per se and specifically President George W. Bush. I'm a thirty six year registered Republican. I think I know a non-friend, even an enemy of Israel, when I see one. Why are you calling me "stupid?" You yourself admit Bush is no friend Mr. Yes, I fully intend to immigrate to Israel and I am not afraid to serve my country in the military or in any other manner. How about you Ephraim? Are you going to join me? Let's talk man to man Ephraim about our rear-ends. How about you? Will you join me in the fight? exiled53@hotmail.com Write me my fellow Jew.
38. Howard #33: I read Read House of Bush House of Saud
Steve ,   U.S.   (08.21.07)
I read it and I am conservative-right; not a left-leaning Republican like Mr. Bush. I say, shame on conservatives for leaving it to a non-conservative like Mr. Unger to take Bush and family to task for their intimate connections with Saudi Wahhabi jihadists. George W. Bush meets with them, he prays with them in the White House and in their mosques, holds hands with them in Crawford, Texas, etc. Bush owes Saudis princes for bailing him out of unprofitable business ventures like Harken Energy (formerly Arbusto). And what about the mysterious flights out of the country only hours after the 9/11 terror atrocities when FAA prohibited all domestic flights? Why did Mr. Bush and the White House direct FBI to allow Saudi Royals and bin Laden family members out of the U.S. without any prolonged interrogation? Mr. Bush said "You are either with us or you are with the terrorists." Whose is President Bush with? It's a shame that my party and my fellow conservatives have given this compromised, perhaps corrupted, U.S. president a pass. Mr. Bush has done incredible damage to Israel's security and to this once great nation; he has damaged the GOP. Where are my fellow conservatives?
39. #13, Too late..
Connie ,   VA. USA   (08.21.07)
they're already getting into bed with the Russians. There is an article on Fox news. com., in the opinion section by Lt. Col. Oliver North, about Chinese and Russians doing military training together on Russian soil. It's a must read for today.
40. Uncle Sam Forever
Curtis ,   Charlotte, USA   (08.21.07)
It is my opinion that If the Democratic party is elected In the US that Israel will be forgotten. Forced to turn to the EU for help, Where Romano Prodi has already declared "Israel has no right to exist" And that would be a diaster for Israel.
41. Howard and Steve
ephraim ,   diaspora   (08.21.07)
You are correct, I was out of line in the tone of my post. My apologies. I just read so many of these talkbacks that bash America that it gets really old. It's kinda like feeding someone and then having them stab you in the back. I will clean up my tone and I hope that many others will do likewise.
42. To #15
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (08.21.07)
Isn’t your tb just a bit overloaded with stereotyping? The fact that most Israelis and/or Europeans, Japanese, etc. are bi-lingual and, more than likely, speak English has probably to do with the fact that English happens to be the language of business in most parts of the world and that the OS's of 95% of the world's computers are steeped in English terminology. Additionally, if you want to find out about other “cultures” around here, you only have to talk to one neighbor or the other. Just about everybody in my subdivision is from “somewhere else,” including China, Lebanon, India, Camaroon and a few "Locals." Isn't the country wich you hold up as so culturally superior and enlightened the very place that restricts people who are of a culture different from their own to live in separate sections, although they're citizens, and where they actually rioted, when some “outsider” wanted to rent a house in their town? As if that weren’t bad enough, isn’t that the same country, too, where the adherents to one version of the same religion insulted and physically attacked those who simply believe in another version? When is the last time the Lutherans in the US have thrown rocks at the Episcopalians??? Are you getting my drift here? As much as Israel has going for itself, the points you brought up are not the good ones. Your sentence, "If you wish for American diplomats to be apathetic or logical......" doesn't make any sense, at all, so I won’t bother to even try to figure out its intended meaning. Oh, for what its worth, I'm an "import" to the US and to the South, and though my French has become very rusty, I used to speak it fluently, German being my mother tongue. Not knowing where you live and not that it makes much difference, when is the last time you've heard anyone proclaim, "Boy, I can't wait to retire, so I can move up North or to the West Coast?” Do you, by the wildest stretch of your imagination, have any idea why that might be and why the Southern States are run over with people from the North aka Yankees? Most of all, when someone, who's never met me, presumes to discern to which foreign policy I subscribe, I can only assume that I'm dealing with someone close-mindedly judgmental who, considering the underlying tone of his/her tb, may have a problem with Bush, the Christians and the Republicans. Well, look at it this way: Regardless of your superior understanding of geopolitical intricacies or your opinions of him or of the Christians, Bush is president and you're not. Do you, honestly, believe that the entire country, except, of course, for you, is run over by morons? Looking back, the last few presidents from the other side of the political spectrum weren’t much to write home about, either. It looks like we'll have to make do with what we have and do better the next time or the time after that. If you were trying to express your disdain for me, for Bush, for the CZ's, or for our foreign policy by holding up the advanced attributes of something or somebody else, you failed miserably. Ah, but I'm "adhering to the same - and I will correct your English - faith-based, fact-free, foreign policy..." That's a good one! Of which faith or religion are you speaking? Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, or what? Would it surprise you to hear that, as far as I'm concerned, all religions are manufactured fantasies, full of magic tricks, illusions and BS from one end to the other? If you can’t or won’t use the good sense god gave you without being told how, what, when, or why, maybe god just wasn’t very kind to you when he/she passed out sense. Although I, in fact, detest the stuff, perhaps you should give those pigs in a blanket a try. They might infuse you with some humor. A touch of joviality would do you a world of good. This being a free country, you are, of course, entitled to any and all of your opinions, no matter how asinine they may be.
43. AMERICA WILL NEVER DESERT ISRAEL!
DEBRA ,   USA   (08.21.07)
44. Love of Israel is America's Folly
Goyish ,   Arlen USA   (08.21.07)
Americans have given themselves over to the two faced vice of religion and avarice - the main source of fanatical support for the Zionist regime. Now it is commonplace to see American politicians bought with the same monies which their own government has given to Israel as part of its "defense" package. So it's hardly surprising that an Israeli proxy like AIPAC thrives on the rotten flesh of our body politic, not only corrupting every member of Congress but helping to put a little more cash into the hands of every grubby hand from those ugly Evangelists. Yes, you should expect the American-Israeli relationship to dissipate within 20 years. I am an American, and I think Israel is a pernicious influence and a waste of American money. There are millions like me.
45. The Nazi-US connection
Canadian Otter   (08.21.07)
After WW2 the US had almost no intelligence on the Soviets, so they recruited individuals who often were not just Nazi sympathizers but actual war criminals. They gave them protection and jobs within government intelligence agencies. The American reasoning was that only those Nazis possessed the knowledge and connections to spy on the Soviets, so their war crimes could be overlooked, forgiven, and kept secret. Some of those Germans moved on to other government departments such as the State Department. The influence of those Nazi recruits when added to the general anti-Semitism among the American elite can explain in part the American attitude that had let down Israel so many times and that these days is endeavoring to place Israel in a situation from which it may not survive. Through unrelenting pressure the USA now will deprive Israel of much of its own territory, while it gives massive military and financial aid to its enemies. It will set up a terror state within sight of Israeli cities, after which it will walk away leaving Israel to defend itself any way it can. The book, "U.S. Intelligence and the Nazis," is based on 240,000 pages of FBI records, 419 CIA files on individuals and 3,000 pages of U.S. Army information detailing the Army's postwar relationship with former officers of the German Wehrmacht's intelligence service, which are now available to the public through the National Archives. Those who think that the Nazi crimes are a thing of the past, should better think again. The Nazi legacy and their goals of destroying the Jews are alive and well within the American government.
46. I wouldnt be allied with any temporary gov
jlynch ,   USA   (08.21.07)
Except I'm all for gogs arrows, and a google of them getting all shot at once like a storm. It will be a blessed day the day gog shoots all his arrows at once. These corrupt as the days of noah goverments deserve this. You cannot stop gogs arrows, and when he flys them like a storm. Praise Yah, and as Jeremiah Prayed Let the double day come. gog etc vs temporary govs. At least he has a never ending legacy, and his supernatural army.
47. CNN to harm US/Israel ties Aug. 21
Ruth ,   US   (08.21.07)
"...the United States’ staunch support of Israel inflames much of the Muslim world and puts America in the crosshairs of jihad." These words from production notes to a 2-hour special "God's Jewish Warriors" Tues. 8/21 on CNN hosted by Christiane Amanpour. More info at http://jpundit.typepad.com/jci/2007/08/cnns-gods-jewis.html
48. No Matter What Happens America Was And Is Our Only Friend!!!
Robert ,   Warren, USA   (08.21.07)
Shalom Mira, my name is Robert, and as I share your point, But I also detect forebodings and concern in your remarks as well, and you should be ; as a Christian myself for almost 27 years now, who has always loved the Jews, even in my youth, I remember as a young lad of 9 years old, and thinking if I was old enough, I would gladly give my life fightimg side by side with the Jews to regain Jerusalem, not to mention the rest of the land belonging to them as spoken of by the Lord God Himself or to do something to help out. Not exactly in that fashion as a young lad; but over time as I got older, that was what was in my entire fiber of my being, I'm even more impassioned about it now. (As I said earlier, you should be concerned) the demacrats here in the United States really CREEPS ME OUT ROYALY!!! and God forbid if Hilary Rodham Clinton becomes our next president :( I could just scream. I don't know where you are; if in the Torah, or the Bible, but look at it this way, if you're a Christian or a Messianic Jew, with all the things taking place in the world, it's all part of the prophecy the Sages spoken of 2000 years ago and even before Christ. And I'll see you in Heaven before long. And if I've said anything to offend you, I ask your forgiveness. I take it you know of the prophecies spoken of by the Sages and Christ Himself, But if not, let me know, and I cangive you some to get you started. GOD BLESS ISRAEL and AMERICA. Please email me back and let me knoe what you think of my comments and views, God Bless and Keep You, your friend in America, Robert
49. UNCLE MOSHE ALWAYS BEATS little uncle sam :)
Atilla Liman ,   Karagözoğlu, BROTHER   (08.21.07)
BIG UNCLE MOSHE . ROCK...ROCK...ROCK....YEAHHHH...HALLELYUJAHHHHHHHH :)
50. American Support
Rick Street ,   Hymera, U.S.A.   (08.21.07)
I pray the next President will support Israel. We must support Israel.
51. freinds and interests
Robn   (08.22.07)
Look, countries do not have friends they have interests. Is it in Israel's interest to be dependent on the US for its self understanding, for support and weapons. We can surround ourselves with a wall, go back to the ghetto and pretend to be safe, or grow up. At one point soon, Israel will not be in the US interests for much. Neither should the US be so for Israel.
52. Look, guys...
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (08.22.07)
the US and all our good Christians could never not support Israel for a very simple reason. What if you guys got REALLY pissed, jerked that Old Testament out from under everybody, copyrighted it and said, "no more none of that free stuff????" This place would cave in. It would be the implosion heard around the world. And if you were to get downright nasty and said that the entire OT henceforth is off limits for any and all "outsiders," where would that leave that New Testament??? It would be like trying to build a house starting with the roof. The Christians would have to hire every last Rabbi to explain all that stuff leading up to the NT and as you, yourself, know, that would get the works gummed up beyond redemption. Ok, ok, maybe I'm jokingly exaggerating, but don't think there isn't a little something somewhere to what I'm saying. Let's put it this way: We will not let you take your toys and go home!!! Those of us who couldn't care less about any testament will always vote for money for the IDF and IAF. Why? Because they're all so damn' cute. (Anyone who expected me to make sense for a change, well, I showed you, didin't I.)
53. #47 Ruth. Many try to harm Israeli/US relations; but God
Rivkah   (08.23.07)
is not in the habit of breaking promises, even if the answers are long delayed. The support of America for Israel will change after America collapses and can no longer finance global enterprises such as the UN. That will happen after Iran is subdued according to Daniel ch. 8 in the Authorized King James Bible. The breaking of the notable horn has to be the USA, not Alexander since Alexander did not have airplanes and Greece was not the westernmost country. The next great war will be a clash of civilzations, Islam against the West described in Daniel ch. 8, Ezekiel ch 32 and 38, Isaiah ch 17, etc. But the world will go on after that until Armageddon when all will be set to right and the nations of the earth will be judged for how they treated the Jews who were Jews in their hearts.
54. Amen
Terry Finn ,   Dallas Texas US   (08.24.07)
I'm an American who believes that we need to immediately take care of business in Iran. Give them 30 days to halt ALL military preparations and ALL nuclear work or do it for them.
