1. Hope all Muslim sects join with this deligation
Daniel ,   Israel   (08.19.07)
This deligation is from "Khoja" muslims from India; they had great relationship with Indian Jews; back from 1800's till now. Basically very peace loving people. Hope other Muslim communities join them.
2. Progress of moderate Islam
Logic ,   Israel   (08.19.07)
South / Southeast Asia may be more furtile soil for the development of moderate Islam. Maybe later those ideas will spread back to the middle east.
3. You should have seen Haifa during the war last summer...
Helene ,   Israel   (08.19.07)
Still under fire, people kept very civilized towards each other... I didn't believe my eyes, but was sincerely pleased... I wish other cities would learn from Haifa/Krayot residents!
4. A most positive development
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (08.19.07)
5. Everything's dandy in Israel. Go to Gaza and the West Bank!
Mo ,   Nablus   (08.19.07)
6. Palestine back first ...
(08.19.07)
This guy is a puppet. We will never talk to Israel until it stops its aggression and returns Palestine or agree to a just solution. Given Israel's record, i am very pessimistic we can do it peacefully. I, for one, will not let go .. and would like to keep the fight on, until we win, or get completely obliterated. We'll die standing, but not live on injustice.
7. Peace first, build trust, then Palestine #6
Noam ,   Boca Raton, FL   (08.19.07)
So let me get your logic straight: any leader who speaks against the conventional Arab street creed that Israel is evil and should be dismantled and no peace or compromise with it is possible, that leader is a "puppet". What you're telling us is that only one type of mindset is acceptable. Imam Ilyasi came to Israel to explore possibilities of coexistence, building a foundation of trust, emphasizing the PERSONAL over the political. He knows coming from the subcontinent where TENS OF MILLIONS of Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and others were forcibly displaced and had to move on with their lives in a new environment. And #6, what is your proposal for a "just" solution of giving Palestine back: The dismantlement of Israel and end of Jewish self-determination? Displacement of all Jews? Come clean on your stance before you condemn this enlightend peace-seeking man
8. #6
Thomas ,   Cleveland, USA   (08.19.07)
Your going to fight and die for a country you don't have and never did have in the first place?
9. THIS IMAN ONLY REPRESENT SOME INDIAN MUSLIMS
Ahmed ,   Egypt   (08.19.07)
There are other indians muslims and no indian muslims (arabs, pakistanis iranians....)that not have the same opinion.
10. no 8, no 7
(08.19.07)
To number 8: we never had? you are so poor. Well, i know many americans live in fox news world. Dream on, history will speak as it did before. You will be kicked out of iraq, as you were in vietnam. Israel was kicked out of Sinai, Gaza (partially), Lebanon (again partially). Injustice will never win, it is that simple. Keep trying though .. good spirit! to no 7: Jerusalem, westbank, and compensation for displaced Palestinians for a starter. I won't talk any more, you know what you have to do .. you know damn well you are commiting war crimes against Palestinians everyday. Come clean! oh please .. cleanness is far from Israel and the West's actions ...

I'd say that the potential compensation of Jews who fled or were forced to flee from Arab countries more than offsets any compensation that Palestinians would hope to receive as part of any final peace agreement.
12. I'm not surprise at all!
T.I ,   Israel   (08.19.07)
When I travelled in India 5 and half years ago, I met many muslims who oppose terrorism, the educated muslims in India are aware to the situation on the middle east, besides that, the palestinians are disgraceful to the Islam because they are just invaders. But, the palestinians don't want a peace so the war will continue until we hit them like Assad did in 1982.
13. #6 for people like you peace means nothing
(08.20.07)
grow up!!!!!!you are thiking like a teenager .....
14. #10 yes compensation for jews of arab countries
rachel ,   usa   (08.20.07)
They were a lot more refugees....Israel took care of its brothers ..how come your loving Moslem brothers have left you to rot ?.and 1/3 of Palestinians were Jews the other 1/3 were Christians ..So Palestinian doesn't mean Moslems.....O. K ?.please don't rewrite history ...Learn something for a change
15. I am intrigued by Indian Muslim protesters
Steve ,   US   (08.20.07)
"Indian Muslims do not have a very good impression of the Israelis," according to this article. "The protesters were saying, you are going to Israel, a country which humiliates the Muslims." This is amazing to me. To many Muslims, the mere existence of a Jewish state in the Middle East is humiliating to the Muslim world. Why is this? Does anyone know?
16. he said it all; exchange of interests
(08.20.07)
"in India only local Muslims implement Shariaa". But: "being supported by the Israeli government" is a false judgment; as Israel is good at that game. On the other hand, Israel's interests is in inciting Indian Muslims against their government. Is it a mutual underatanding?; I doubt that.
17. #8, peace needs at least two sides to work
Noam ,   Boca Raton, FL   (08.20.07)
"Injustice will never win, it is that simple. " And the Jewish people will never let prevail the injustice of being denied their legitimate right to have their own state in their historic homeland and return to that land that they were exiled from. Not only the Arabs and Muslims are allowed to have injustices committed against them. I at first addressed #6's condemnation of the courageous, pragmatic Imam Ilyasi and his totalist solution. You just criticize my call for building trust before one side agrees to fully withdraw from very sensitive areas (security wise). When I hear someone say, "meet all my demands or else I'll fight you forever", I'm less likely to view dialogue and a negotiated compromise as a way to deal with them. That's what #6 says. What I and any other sane, realistic person says is that we need to have positive interactions before we can both be convinced of the "Other's" good intentions and agree to establish control of certain territories. And FYI, Israel wasn't "forced out" of Sinai: it's parliament voted for a withdrawal from there in exchange for a full peace treaty with Egypt. Gaza and Lebanon you can make more of a case, but in those two instances the majority of Israelis wanted the government to withdraw forces and hoped their leaving would foster more peaceful conditions from the other side.

If a Palestinian state existed prior to 1948, who was it's leader? What was its currency? What was it's capitol? Why wasn't it's military able to drive out the "Zionist invaders"? I'll tell you why, there NEVER existed a Palestinian state! Palestine is a region! That is why Britain was able to carve out more than 80% of it for the creation of Transjordan. There never was an independant Arab country on modern Israeli soil. Before Modern Israel it was controlled by Britain, before then it belonged to the Ottoman Empire, before then the Crusaders(Around htis time the VERY FIRST Arabs and Muslims reached the area, but never made it a state.) and before the Crusaders the Romans controlled it, and before the Romans.........the Jews! Palestine was what the Romans named it to try and erase the Jewish connection to the land. You can't rewrite history for your cause simply because not everyone is ignorant enough to be fed lies, so you'd better find other ways of advancing goals.
