Attacks continue along the border. Something tip things over the edge and the Israeli government responds with aerial attacks. Palestine or Hamastan decides to call on its brothers in Iran or Syria or Egypt or all of them, who decide to teach Israel a lesson and attack at once. Once Palestine becomes a state recognized by the "international community", Israel will be deprived of the option of stricking individual terrorist cells. Is that something that is being considered at all by Israelis so impatient to be done with the surrender of their land?

Why would Israel be deprived of striking back? Check your history, Israel retaliates across international boarders ever since the 50's. Into Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon. Please don't respond to this before you read up on your history.

Things have changed a lot. Israeli leaders too have become a lot weaker and ingratiating to Western powers and the Arabs. The new reality is that the Arabs and the Iranians are a lot more powerful today than they were before. And Israel is much weaker, both militarily (underequipped and undertrained IDF, unprotected cities) and in spirit, with a demoralized army and population. Israel will be dissuaded from striking back, just as it has kept itself from attacking Hizbullah cells in Lebanon because it does not want another "war". It can attack, of course. But we are already seeing the influence of the US in wrenching away Jewish territory to create a terror state. I don't think tha the US would approve of Israel getting involved in a war that might upset the US Arab allies. Gaza and the WB are still under Israeli control, so Israel attacks when necessary. Not too much, of course, they don't want to make the Gazans or Abbass too angry. But at least they still have the option. Once there's a border, as there is a border with Lebanon, things get a lot dicier. No. That glorious past is history. Now Israel won't be dealing with old-fashioned armies, but with guerrilla warfare Hizbullah style. And we know how that last war developed and ended, don't we? Israel has never had such a bad press as it does now. It will have to think it over before it retaliates against the very popular and overprotected future Islamic Republic of Palestine.
