31. David - your disgusting comments....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (08.27.07)
are hardly worthy of your earthy crunchy world of Central California Coast. Since apparently you can't read, the PA forces did their jobs. Why call them animals? You sound like the Jihadists condemming them from the other side. You need a good potch for that one, my friend.
32. #29 - Right, Chaya and that's bad?
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (08.27.07)
You were thinking the PA forces should have saluted him and started humming Hatikvah? Let them think if they screw this up they loose everything. Let them have something to loose. We don't expect love from the other side. We expect honoring agreements. Of course they hate us as much as we hate them. All that means is there are plenty of beefs on both sides. But this story shows how the authorities should be able to work together. And its good.
33. The lefties are having a field day
freejay ,   Israel   (08.27.07)
Dont be fooled, could you imagine the response from Israel if they had linched a major? There would of immediately been an incurson into Jenin and alot of Palistinians would of been killed. The police were just saving there own and couldnt care about peace, they even admit that. What has Abass done to promote peace? They are all still armed! They are paying Hamass! Has Abass changed the Palastinian charter calling for the destruction of Israel? NO!!!!!!! DONT BE FOOLED BY THE LEFTIES INTO THINKING WE HAVE A PEACE PARTNER!!
34. We should be grateful, not insult those who saved a life.
Grateful ,   Tel Aviv   (08.27.07)
We should thank the PA forces. Maybe they did do it just to prevent another lynching because they knew it would derail the talks. But maybe we see that someone on the Palestinian side really wants their own country more than they want Jews killed - an army officer, no less. Hashem created all human beings in his image, including your brothers whom you call animals.
35. #31 Andy, 2 Battalions Would Rip Appart Jenin with in 12hrs.
David P. ,   Central Coast, USA   (08.27.07)
they know their would be no second guessing the extreme efforts that would be taken to secure the majors freedom, if it meant tearing down every known terror hovel in that miserable city, it would be done. Don't forge, Arafats PA Forces pretended cooperate until one day they didn't anymore instead launching a wave of murderous attacks, exploiting every trust ever gained and destroying any semblance of hope they one day they too would see our right to exist

Ariel Yochanan ,   London UK   (08.27.07)
By the way Rami, just in case you forgot, or the left wing political filter in your brain filtered out the major incident in the article, let me refresh your memory. The Major was about to be lynched by,...Surprise Surprise, the Arabs! That having been said, it is absurd to suggest that every Arab wants every Jew dead, but you can not deny that, that is the prevailing sentiment. A similar incident would not happen in Israel. That in itself speaks volumes.

There are several things wrong, including incorrect descriptions, regarding what you said: 1) If it was an undercover force that went into Jenin and killed someone, then this is not a lynching. It is a military operation. A lynching is when someone is killed by an angry mob of civilians or militants. 2) Even if there was an undercover force that went and killed someone, was this particular Major part of this? Was there a warrant for his arrest issued by the PA? Was this particular Major wanted for a specific crime? If not, then this is a reason for the PA to turn him back over to the Israelis. 3) If there is rule of law, which, I might add, is a hallmark of a democracy (not just elections), then it is the job of the PA Police to deal with the Major, and not an angry mob or armed groups that are not part of the government. 4) Already, Palestinians have been released from jails without the PA police (or the Fayyad government) taking hostages. Some will say not enough prisoners were released; But whether it was not enough, or too much, the fact remains that prisoners were released without capture of Israelis by armed groups. This incident shows the clear difference between rule of law, and rule by an angry mob.
38. if the major wasnt religious before-i bet hes thinking of it

40. Lost IDF and it's lost Major
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.27.07)
There is much significance in this almost tragic replay of Jews visiting their no good neighbors. The clueless major is sympthomatic of the general Israeli population, clueless and braindead, headed for the slaughterhouse. The Road Map leads to major disaster and the leadership on down do not have the common sense or rational thought to get off the Road Map and defeat this evil enemy.

While Islamic Jihad salary comes from Iran. Just like a dog, you listen to who feeds you but there's a lot can be learn from this incident. If it's that easy to wander into enemy territories, the opposite is true too.

It's only with the Internet age that this dark savagery comes to light... that we are able to discuss with impunity.
44. #41 Sorry if Unable to Forget Bloody Memories of Terror
David P. ,   Central Coast, USA   (08.28.07)
or maybe you've forgetten the steady and calculated mass murder of Jews from 2000-present? Apartied, what an inapplicable and ignorant label for this relentless campaign by the Jaded world to misdirect the feeble minded from the atrocities committed against their own. Counter Strike Source

47. Rami, Ariel - Don't forget the Jeniin battle
meir elazar   (08.28.07)
It is always important to put things in context. I am sure that people in Jenin remember the IDF cleanup under Arik in Jenin. The terrorist boobytrapped the streets and IDF came up with the brilliant strategy of cutting or blowing holes to navigate from apartment to apartment avoiding going out to the booby trapped streets. The strategy was brilliant and I am sure it save many soldier's lives. The terrorists and probably the people whose houses were damaged may not remember their embarrassing loss so fondly. So that there is no mistake in my remarks, I strongly approve of the brilliant tactic that saved lives. On the other hand one must assess the impact of the Jenin residents and the mob reaction to Israeli who down the road travel the wrong road into their midst. The biggest challenge we face is to separate the general population from the terrorists, if that is at all possible, demonstrating the suffering that the road of terror brings and showing that maybe there is still hope for peace and prosperity on the other road. In any case, it is still a long and difficult road. I hope we all , too, do not make a wrong turn and get lost. Does anyone remember where I misplaced the ROADMAP?
48. To David P
Smooth   (08.28.07)
David, don't listen to the fools here who are condeming you for remembering the stench and tactics of the Muslim enemy. I would have felt better had some of those here who are attacking you would have had the guts to mention their recognition of the goals of Hizbullah, Syria, Iran and Hamas as part of an axis of terror to set the region in flames and dictate the Israeli-palestinian agenda. How ironic to read here from some Jews that 'palestinian' hindsight is so clear, but Israeli foresight is deceptive. Your attackers - those with "good intentions" - have caused more harm to the world, have caused more suffering, more wars, than anyone else. The last thing Islamic extremists can tolerate is a population of thinking, educated people. Ignorance is the oxygen that keeps them alive. Introduce any kind of learning and critical thinking into a population and the Islamist dies. But introduce the back-stabbing thinking as those who have attacked you have demonstrated here, and a Jew will die, not the Islamist. I find that people like those who are attacking you - those who keep diapering and bottle feeding palestinians so they never grow up, forgetting that palestinians are not exactly chained to their homicide belts and kassam rockets, are more reprehensible than a palestinian indoctrinated in Jew-hatred on his mother's milk.
