Micha   (08.29.07)
has the arab community followed through with much of anything besides murder and mayhem in the last century? disgusting. check out what Egypt is doing now... Egypt star faces ban for acting with Israeli This is the state of the arab world. Will they come into the 21st century or remain in the 7th?
2. promises?
Mike ,   Jerusalem   (08.29.07)
what promises did you and your bloody terrorists ever keep Fayyad???????? Oh yeah you are in the process of keeping the promise to exterminate Israel and push the Jews into the sea (if not overtly , covertly)
3. When did Israel ever kepp a promise? stooge...
(08.29.07)
4. says Fayyad
VoiceOfReason ,   Here&Now   (08.29.07)
And they have kept EVERY promise they made. As Rabin (of blessed memory) said Prime Ministers are allowed to lie.
5. Palestinians experts at keeping promises?
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.29.07)
The usual Arab BS - maybe he would like to cite all the promises they've kept over the years. Anyway, what Arabs say generally has nothing to do with nothing - just short term tactics removed from reality, totally unobjective, often contradictory with previous statements, always an effort to deflect blame & responsibility, an excercise in rhetoric & slogans rather than communication, frequently a bargaining tactic or a threat, in many cases playing to their own audience, devoid of logic, deceptive, the opposite of what they said, projection of their own bad faith unto others, based on half-truths or outright lies - shall I go on? We often think our politicians are liars & manipulators, but they are rank amateurs compared to Arabs. We're still in the minor leagues compared to these major league players.
6. promises that are kept
chaim ,   miami beach usa   (08.29.07)
a daily rocket attack against Israel from Gaza. a daily attempt by killers to kill, kidnap, make life for the Israeii's misrable on a daily bases and yet Olmart is talking to them, maybe if the arabs will for one month only, cease all acts of terror thingss will be diffrent
7. disappointing, isn't it mr fayyad?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (08.29.07)
now you know how it feels. if you want results, you must show results with what you are supposed to do. the time of giving the palestinians a free pass on their responsibilities should have ended long ago. if you want a state, you must start doing what it takes instead of blaming everyone else for your actions. don't worry, everyone knows how this will end so we're not going to be disappointed with your failure because we had expectations that you would perform.
8. Abu Mazen says something truthful.
Chatich   (08.29.07)
The Palestinian newspaper al-Ayam quoted Abbas in its headline as saying, "We do not want peace at any cost." This ironic little statement, likely a mistranslation to English, is probably closer to the truth than anything a Palestinian leader ever said before.
9. Arab promises
Eynav Benjamin ,   Stormville NY USA   (08.29.07)
Dear fellow human, Today humanity is being challenged. Unthinkable atrocities take place on daily basis. There is an evil force at work that aims to destroy us. The agents of this evil respect nothing; not even the lives of children. Every day there are bombings, every day innocent people are targeted and murdered. It seems as if we are helpless. But we are not! The ancient Chinese sage Sun Zi said, "Know your enemy and you won't be defeated". Do we know our enemy? If we don't, then we are doomed. Terrorism is not an ideology, it is a tool; but the terrorists kill for an ideology. They call that ideology Islam. The entire world, both Muslims and non-Muslims claim that the terrorists have hijacked "the religion of peace" and Islam does not condone violence. Who is right? Do the terrorists understand Islam better, or do those who decry them? The answer to this question is the key to our victory, and failure to find that key will result in our loss and death will be upon us. The key is in the Quran and the history of Islam. Those of us, who know Islam, know that the understanding of the terrorists of Islam is correct. They are doing nothing that their prophet did not do and did not encourage his followers to do. Murder, rape, assassination, beheading, massacre and sacrilege of the dead "to delight the hearts of the believers" were all practiced by Muhammad, were taught by him and were observed by Muslims throughout their history. If truth has ever mattered, it matters most now! This is the time that we have to call a spade a spade. This is the time that we have to find the root of the problem and eradicate it. The root of Islamic terrorism is Islam. The proof of that is the Quran. We are a group of ex-Muslims who have seen the face of the evil and have risen to warn the world. No matter how painful the truth may be, only truth can set us free. Why this much denial? Why so much obstinacy? How many more innocent lives should be lost before YOU open your eyes? We urge the Muslims to leave Islam. Stop with excuses, justifications and rationalizations. Stop dividing mankind into "us" vs. "them" and Muslims vs. Kafirs. We are One people, One mankind! Muhammad was not a messenger of God. It is time that we end this insanity and face the truth. The terrorists take their moral support and the validation for their actions from you. Your very adherence to their cult of death is a nod of approval for their crimes against humanity. We also urge the non-Muslims to stop being politically correct lest they hurt the sensitivities of the Muslims. To hell with their sensitivities! Let us save their lives, and the lives of millions of innocent people that could become their victims. Millions, if not billions of lives will be lost if we do nothing. Time is running out! "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing." Do something! Send this message to everyone in your address book and ask them to do the same. Defeat Islam and stop terrorism. This is your world, save it. The ex-Muslim Movement www.faithfreedom.org
10. ARabs are different
OS ,   ISRAEL   (08.29.07)
The Arabs on the other hand have kept every single promise they have made - obviously since all they keep promising is to try to destry us, wipe us off the map, throw us into the sea. Well we won't have any of that - so they might try actually wanting to reach a peaceful, truthful settlement - the only problem with that is they have no idea what truth is.
11. israeli promises
elliot ,   usa   (08.29.07)
weak governments cannot deliver on promises anyway....as for humiliation and roadblocks, they have brought this on themselves thru terrorism
12. the nature of negotiations in the arab world
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.29.07)
this isn't a world of truth or honesty - but of lies and wild rhetoric, and hard bargaining. fayyad chooses to ignore the 250 terrorists freed last month, because that part of the bargain is already "done and in the bag" and is now exploring how much more he can charge for his flea-infested rug. there is no "retail price" when buying a carpet in arabia.
13. #2 Mike-it's hard to push Merkava tanks and nukes into sea
Khalid ,   Gaza   (08.29.07)
with rocks and AK 47's
14. If only Israel had NOT released terrorists, money, & weapons
Joseph   (08.29.07)
While all the PA does is release LIES...
15. Insane Olmert/Livni keep freeing terrorists & $ to ingrates
J.E. ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.29.07)
Freeing terrorists only results in more Israelis being murdered, and Olmert / Livni aren't even being thanked for that by the PA!
16. Why is Fayad complaining?
Dovy ,   Toronto   (08.29.07)
Why is he complaining? He is working with the Zionists against Hamas. He and Abu Mazen are perceived as stooges of the Zionists and the CIA. He is against resistance and the intifada. So what is he complaining about?
17. First, destroy the enemy, then talk peace
Bernard Ross ,   st. anns bay,jamaica   (08.29.07)
18. Arabs have only two fingers on each hand.
JackGarbuz ,   Queens, NY, USA   (08.29.07)
The thumb, which points up to Allah, and the forefinger, which always points at someone else to blame. The three fingers that normally point back at one's self are missing with them.
19. number 13 Khaild
Richard ,   London UK   (08.29.07)
Khalid is correct. It's pretty hard to throw Isreal into the sea when the Palestinains only have rocks and AK47s and Isreal has fighter planes, tanks, cluster bombs, nuclear weapons, 30 Billion of US aid and, oh, they've built a wall around the Palestinains just for good measure. Who is the terrorist?

A terrorist intends to commit mass murder of civilians -- since you acknowledge Israel's military strength, you can understand that if Israel had a policy to commit mass murder of civilians, within 24 hours there would be no Arabs in Israel. On the contrary, Israeli soldiers risk their own lives in order to protect the lives of Arab civilians who shelter terrorists among themselves. No country in the world (not even the UK, or Russia, or Lebanon) allows terrorists to attack their civilian populations without taking preventative measures, which unfortunately may result in unintended "collateral harm" to civilians who are maliciously used as human shields by terrorists, who surround themselves with children for their propaganda value as "collateral harm" to persons such as you. Richard, if it helps you understand better, a terrorist is someone who will gleefully slit your throat if you don't obey the Koran and its paramilitary enforcers, and believes there will be an eternal reward for murdering you in Paradise with 72 virgins. Good luck with your friends.
22. THE BIG LIE
arthur ,   jc usa   (08.30.07)
The big lie, repeat it often enough and people believe it, like the existence of an Arab Palestine. Israel transfered money, arms, territory etc what has the PA done except train terrorists, steal money, kill Israelis and cry.

(08.30.07)
thank god for that. am israel chai! long live israel. the jews, and all decent christians around the world will never let you down. we have seen the palestinians for what they really are. a society without a future. terrorists without a concience. all the world roots for israel and loves it! christian and zionist.
24. Didn't Promises?
mike ,   Canada   (08.30.07)
What are the Palsetinans fighting for, something they could have had 60 years ago . The Palsetinans should have declared statehood in 1948 along with Israel, but thay choose not to. Instead they and Arab world choose war and tried destroy Isreal in its infancy. Between 1948/49 and1967 Palestine was controlled by Egypt and Jordan. Why didn’t the Palestinians declare their state then? After the six day war Israel offered to return the capture territory far full recognitionby the Arab world, another opportunity missed. The Palestinians need take responsiblity for their past mistakes and stop playing foolish games that will scuttle any peace agreement as in what happen 2000 They also need to be realistic and stop demanding things Israel can not and will not give up. Mike from Winnipeg
25. To Richard, #19
JackGarbuz ,   Queens, NY, USA   (08.30.07)
First of all, Israel's wall is around Israel, not around the Palestinians. The Palestinians are free to stay or go to any of the other Arab countries surrounding Israel. Second, the US aid to Israel is more than matched by aid to Egypt and other Arabs, as well as massive arms sales to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other Arab states hostile to Israel's very existence. As for the Palestinians only having rocks (you forgot to mention home made rockets) and AK-47s, any planes or tanks they would get would only end up either in ISrael's own arms inventory anyway, or used to crash into Israeli buildings. They are very lucky not to have those weapons, because that would give Israel to excuse to expel all of them to Jordan and Egypt after they lose the next war. I think they are better off negotiating peacefully than trying to continue this 100 year war.Unless they want to continue with their "all or nothing" gambit. How did that work out for them?
26. Palestinians: Wake Up!
Janet ,   Canada   (08.30.07)
The only way out of the current problems is for all Palestinians to demand ONE STATE for both Jews and Arabs. The name of the "new" state should be of no consequence -- it can be called Palestine, or continue to be called Israel. When this happens, the two people will be able to live in peace with one another, the way they were before the birth of Zionism.

28. To #26 about the "bi-national solution."
JackGarbuz ,   Queens, NY, USA   (08.31.07)
The "bi-national" solution was explored at nauseum as far back as the early 1920s, and fundamentally rejected. Jews have been a scattered minority group for 2000 years, in almost 144 countries, and demanded ONE tiny strip of land, which was once their ancient homeland, where they could be the majority for a change. Just like the Irish have a state where Irish are the majority, and the Germans, and the Swedes, and the 22 Arab states. The binational idea is over 80 years old, and was rejected then, and will always be rejected, because there has to be at least ONE tiny country where Jews are the majority.
