So to say that the region was "stable" before the U.S. intervened would certainly be an insult to the Iraqi people. I guess these critics think it is "stable" if the victims, at any number, disappear into mass graves where they don't have to see them, rather than an average smaller number but where we can see them left in public places. So distasteful. Plus hope for the Iraqis for something better for themselves when they get their govt working straight, which takes time.
