Mel ,   Bowie, MD USA   (09.04.07)
Why don't the Israeli's house Palestinian prisoners at the schools and shakle them so they can be fodder for the Rocket attacks
3. Deliberately targeting children again. More PIJ war crimes

They admit to increasing rocket fire, when the school season began?? Where is the UN on this. Where are the human rights activists?? They are intentionally fireing at school children...What a way to get the whole world to point rockets at you. If Olmert is smart he will take this "confession" to every world leader and demand help in obliterating this "revolution" The revolution I know doesn't shoot at school children.
5. Israel will stand
Paul ,   NJ USA   (09.04.07)
I am saddened by the lack of outrage by the Israeli citizens over this and a host of other wrongs this government has brought to Israel. If you would only get angry and march in the streets, shutting the country down until you were heard. Better yet, we all should fall to our knees and plead to God for help. I know millions of Christians here in the USA that would also march in the streets in solidarity with Israel if only it's citizens would take the initiative and DO SOMETHING! It hurts to see a once strong nation getting pushed around by murderous thugs. Israel will stand no matter what but the fighting spirit it once had is invisible. The lessons from the past are plain to read in the Bible. All my boyhood heroes were mighty men of God from the nation of Israel. Where are the Joshuas of today? We love you here in America and we want for all your enemies to be wiped out. Christians know if it weren't for the Jewish people, there would be no WEST as we know it. Of all people on the earth, you deserve to have peace. In you all the nations on the earth are blessed. Now if only the children of Israel would believe it themselves.........

Where is the UN ? What kind of question is that ? Ask the Tutsis !
7. olmert talks but doesnt act
eddie ,   London UK   (09.04.07)
Olmert talks nonsense, then goes and hides his head int he sand until there is another victim.
8. Deterrence is Key
Brod ,   USA   (09.04.07)
Deterrence is a key ingredient in Israel's defense. It requires a strong leadership or PM. If the enemy knows that Israel's top leadership is weak, they are emboldened to attack Israel. Strong leadership means that the enemy would have to think twice before attempting to shoot their rockets at Israel. It would be well for Israel to have a new election that will give the country strong leadership or Deterrence. If these attacks were to occur in another country, the retaliation would be swift and decisive. The thugs would be obliterated and they would have no more balls to ever attack again. Israel can do it. But Israel needs strong leadership at the top. Israel cannot expect that a weak leader can become a strong leader. Some leaders are born weak others are born strong. In a country like Israel, you would need strong leaders at all times. It is time for a change at the top.
9. ISRAEL HAS NOT FINISHED ONE ACT SINCE 1973
ISRAEL WILL BACK OFF ,   ..............DACON9   (09.04.07)
10. Retaliation
JG ,   US   (09.04.07)
One can and will expect the so called world community to expect Israel to use restraint. In a few days, we will see that photo of that Arab woman doing the wave from the streets of Gaza.
11. There is No Such Thing As Islamic Jihad
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (09.04.07)
If Hamas was able to obliterate Fatah, a large organization, in Gaza, they will have an easier time destroying Islamic Jihad if they wish. Besides, terrorists move from one organization to another as circumstances dictate and Hamas can claim deniability when "Islamic Jihad" fires a Qassam and only Olmert is foolish enough to believe Hamas is not responsible
12. Strike at all of them
J K ,   NYC, USA   (09.04.07)
All these armed groups operate under the assumption that Allah is somehow helping them win by aiming rockets at civilians. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PFLP....who gives a crap!? Bring the wrath of G-d down on them with relentless missile strikes. Give them all PTSD and take as many of them out as you can. What's happening in Sderot is ludicrous and the government should be ashamed of itself for not protecting it's citizens. Dont let the terrorists dictate the terms...take the war to them and to the people if neccessary. They have to have a weak point...find it and twist as hard as you can.
13. "Our goal is to send a message to the world."
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (09.04.07)
Well Abu Ahmed you have succeeded. The world now knows that you and the mongrels you represent really are a gang of useless barbarians. May the IDF do what is necessary to rid the planet of you and others like you. Congratulations! You achieved your goal.
14. The IDF has its hands tied
David L.   (09.04.07)
What would a large-scale operation bring? Both Hamas and Islamic Jihad are able to launch rockets at sderot from densely populated areas in the center of the Jabalya camp and northern Gaza City. The IDF will never be able to enter these areas anyway. A large scale operation will likely cause few casualties among the IDF, mostly because they usualy do not engage ground troops in street fighting, preferring tanks that operate from open field around populated areas. Certainly dozens, and perhaps hundreds of Palestinians would be killed (with an expected ration of 50/50 terrorists/civilians, as we most usualy see), but that would in no way destroy Hamas or Islamic Jihad. Destroying these organizations would entail killing some 20 000 terrorists, and probably an equal (at least) amount of civilians. Obviously, that won't happen. That would also mean significant casualties for the IDF, and I highly doubt that the Israeli commanders would favor continuing such an operation for long, given that Qassam rockets have only killed 12 Israelis over 5 years.
15. Take over Gaza corner.
Daniel ,   Israel   (09.04.07)
Take over Gaza corner and push them back 20 KM from the border. This is the solution.
16. A missed opportunity
Helen Rauch-Ellnekav ,   Maalot, Israel   (09.04.07)
We are asleep at the wheel. What a perfect hasbarah opportunity to show the world what Israel is up against! Targeting schools?! Who in their right mind could support such a position? Why are we not exploiting this outrageous situation as a public relations opportunity? Get out there and tell the world!
17. AL-QUDS BRIGADES
joe   (09.04.07)
I found it strange that " you reap what you sow" appears often in colums of local newspapers. How about Israel's choice of Govt.?. The worst Govt. in it's short history. Worthless leaders, many unsavory characters,( some stupid, some crooks, some liars, lots of uncompetance, afew thieves?).What they all have in common is the taste of the "good life":; somtuous offices, the latest in chauffeured limousines, well cut suits, daily change of neckties (de rigueur), great gourmet tables (they always eat--see their waistlines). On TV one can see an empty Knesset, as many of our hard working members are overseas on a "junket". They have more bodyguards than the whole of Israel's Police force. Last but not least our "GREAT LEADER". I have the feeling that if one of the rocket should hit a classroom in session, HE will then decide to call for a comprehensive meeting in order to decide the next step. Citizen of Israel, YOU did it, YOU must change it. NO ONE is going to do it for YOU.
