1. It's pretty obvious what happened
SteveG ,   Kew gardens NYC   (09.07.07)
The IAF did what it should be doing, testing out the readiness of the Syrian missile defenses and radar systems. With the new Russian air defense armaments being given to the Syrians by Iran, it is imperative the Israelis know what to expect if they ever have to involve themselves in an attack. I hope they got lots of great information and the Syrians showed them everything they had.
2. Syria and Israel Are Playing Cat and Mouse
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CA USA   (09.07.07)
Syria, like Israel with Hamas, is working for time. Hamas (and Islamic Jihad), are constantly testing Israel's defenses (at the fence, etc.). Israel tested Syria's latest missile defense, supplied by the Ruskies. Syria acts so innocent, while it supports terrorist groups in Lebanon. What do they expect? Until it can be assured of Iranian nuclear attacks on Israel, I doubt it will do more than fire a few missiles at Israeli aircraft, or launch a few guerrilla raids near the Golan. They ain't stupid. Israel will probably not react or act minimally just to keep the SAF at bay. But the future looks bleak.
3. IDF Aircraft
Don ,   Rock Branch, USA   (09.07.07)
If this was a reconnaissance mission, there should only have been one airplane, not a flight, which would be a larger radar foorprint. I think the Syrians are trying to start something from nothing.
4. If there is a War
ralphsrant1 ,   USA   (09.07.07)
If there is a War I hope we will not go to war then give all the land back then what would be the point. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/
5. Syria senses weak Isralei leadership
Adam ,   USA   (09.07.07)
The Syrians are not stupid and they can sense Israel's leader Olmert is the weakest and dumbest in the history of Israel. Any idiot can see that and sense it you can smell it 100 miles away from the little prick! On top of which the Israeli Knesset obviously has its head shoved so far up their a** since the guy should have been handed a hands down 100% approve NO CONFIDENCE vote back in april or may when the first report on the war came out against him and his leadership abilities! Along with the fact that he does not care to protect the citizens of the Negev from the incessant Qassam fire! This entire Israeli government is absolutely disgraceful and has to be the most stupid government in power yet!
6. to the syrians...from fuad saniora
(09.07.07)
to reiterate the expatriate affairs minister, bussaina shaaban exact words.... which can also apply to syria's nefarious intentions for lebanon. apart from killing lebanese government personnel.... "syria intervenes in our country.....which they should not do--we are a sovreign country and you should not send terrorists and ammunitions and arms through your border into our sovreign lebanon.....to arm hizbullah and hamas"
7. i suggest russia butt out
(09.07.07)
since they themselves want to control the arctic shelf where there are lots of untapped fule resources and already sent submatines over there to circulate russian style. maybe they should be concerned as well on tresspassing on others' territories?

10. Calling all Hypocrites - Time to bash Israel again.
(09.07.07)
Russia's comments are unbelievable. They are every bit the rogue that they accuse the USA of being. Hypocrites.
11. Scary Moments In the Golan
Mark ,   Israel   (09.07.07)
I live in the Golan, and had a great nights sleep. The loudest noise I heard was my wife's snoring.
12. attack Syria??
joe   (09.07.07)
before the world learned of the incident on the syrian air space, Our prestigious channel 2 sent one of his top female reporter to Italy . Her 1st question to the syrian embassador " any comments on the attack by Israel?" A stupid question by a stupid reporter, probably working for Olmert or the mossad.
13. To #11
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (09.07.07)
So that's what that was!!!!! :-)
14. Syrian nonsense
Josef Matamoros ,   Finland   (09.07.07)
Syrian leadership is unsure whether Israel did or didn't or whether Israel did or didn't precisely this or that, however, Syrian leadership is quite sure whether Syria will do this or that, in spite of Israel's action or non-action. Sounds like medical care is needed for the Syrian leadership.
15. who cares, no-bombing reconnoissance is more serious
observer   (09.07.07)
It's called "lef pulling". David Ben Gurion once said that it would be worth a million pounds to pay an Arab to start a war.
16. #4 Israel was waring to gain land, Not for security?
