1. This article is full of pathetic rubbish.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (09.09.07)
To counter some of the pathetic misstatements made in the article consider... 1500 Lebanese civillians were murdured not by Iran but by Israel. The war was of Israel's choosing far in excess of the appropriate response to the border skirmish. The Iran President has never denied the holocaust but queried the way it has been exploited and foistered on the Arabs. The fanatiscm is not in Iran but in Israel as it seems the government does not have real control on the military. Ganor was right about the definition of terrorism. Therefore Israel must be the No.1 terrorist state judged by the number of civilians it kills or appropriates freedom and property. Wow one needs to go back to 1984 to pin a terrorism action onto Iran. The whole language in the article is of the type associated with mad demented individuals. If not so pathetic then an absolute joke.
2. Syria wants in
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.09.07)
Iran and Syria feel they are invincable after Israel's restrained air war against Hezbollah last year. If you had not heeded your phony ally ,us. and gone in with IDF & IAF at the beginning and not stopped until Hezbollah was defeated .Syria and Iran would be licking their wounds still and not be preparing for war with Israel today. You have to go in for complete defeat ,no playing a nice war the west wants you to . The west is protecting their arab partners and giving you pressure and advice to lose.
3. Problem though is
Obama ,   Washington DC   (09.09.07)
Most EU countries is too selfish and greedy for Iran's oil @ the expense of world security. With Iraq on the brink of US withdrawal, Iran is going to rule Iraq by proxy. This should worry the oil rich Gulf states like Saudi Arabia.
4. # 1 is the Liar
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.09.07)
Morris, do you really have a zeal for news in New Zealand? If so, you might have known that... ....Mr Ahmadinejad made the Holocaust denial comments in Mid-December, 2005, while speaking about WWII on live TV in the Iranian city of Zahedan. "They have created a myth today that they call the massacre of Jews..." In a May 30, 2006 interview with Der Spiegel, Ahmadinejad, when again asked about the Holocaust, responded "I will only accept something as truth if I am actually convinced of it" Regarding your stupid remark regarding civilian deaths in Lebanon, Hezbollah deliberately uses civilians as human shields. That is the tactic of the cowardly whom you admire. That they become cannon fodder is Hezbollah's shame. Look up the definition of murder before you drop inaccurate terms into your tripe. Being that Hezbollah premeditatedly chose to operate from civilian areas in Lebanon, it is they who are guilty of being the accomplice to murder! What would you have considered the 'appropriate response' of Israel to the act of war perpetrated by Hezbollah against Israeli soldiers on Israel soil in July, 2006 - a UN conference? Morris, you descend from idiocity to the moronic in your assinine remark that Israel is the #1 terrorist state, ignoring the 100 million plus civilians killed by Stalin, Hitler, and Tse Tung. Then the laughable comment that Israel hasn't control over its military when in fact its the Ayatollah Khameni who controls Iran's military and pulls Ahmidinejad's puppet strings in Iran. Israel's military, like the US, is under elected civilian control. Ganor's citing of the Argentinian genocide was intended to display an example of the acquiescence of some world leaders towards terror against Israel. There are many more recent acts of terror associated with Iran. The difference: Iran now employs surrogate stooges like Hezbollah and Hamas to wreak its havoc to maintain plausible deniability for dolts like Morris to accept. The thinking world is not so easily fooled anymore.
5. #2 Hey you false christian terrorist- still licking the

boots of that golden calf of self-importance you visit daily in your living room hey?
6. Peter
David ,   Tel Aviv   (09.09.07)
1. You can go ahead and say the war was of Israel's choosing, but it is indisputable that the casus belli was Hizbullah's actions. 2. "They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets," Ahmadinejad said in a speech to thousands of people in the Iranian city of Zahedan, according to a report on Wednesday from Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. "The West has given more significance to the myth of the genocide of the Jews, even more significant than God, religion, and the prophets," he said. "(It) deals very severely with those who deny this myth but does not do anything to those who deny God, religion, and the prophet." courtesy of CNN (And I could find you many other quotes) 3. Yes, I agree Israel is terrorist. That is why we always hear about them blowing up shopping malls and sending suicide bombers onto public buses. 4. Iran supports, trains, funds and arms Hizbullah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Though you might not define these groups as terrorists, to me the state department carries more weight than Peter Morris from New Zealand. From the state department site: * Observers say Iran had prior knowledge of Hezbollah attacks, such as the 1988 kidnapping and murder of Colonel William Higgins, a U.S. Marine involved in a UN observer mission in Lebanon, and the 1992 and 1994 bombings of Jewish cultural institutions in Argentina. * Iran still has a price on the head of the Indian-born British novelist Salman Rushdie for what Iranian leaders call blasphemous writings about Islam in his 1989 novel The Satanic Verses. * U.S. officials say Iran supported the group behind the 1996 truck bombing of Khobar Towers, a U.S. military residence in Saudi Arabia, which killed nineteen U.S. servicemen. Where do you get your information from Peter? I particularly like how you can come on here and say that Ahmadinejad hasn't denied the Holocaust. Really makes one trust everything else you say.
7. #4 You are the liar.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (09.09.07)
The speech that Ahmadinejad made referred to the holocaust as a myth in the sense of aura, legend or ghost. He has never come out and said it never happened. The word I would have used is industry because that is what the holocaust has become to many. Now I lost about 80% of my relatives to the Germans and may I say not to the Iranians. I detest the industry that belatedly is flourishing around one of the darkest periods of mankind. I stand by along with millions world wide that Israel and more particularly Israel's misguided zealots in Washington are the greatest threat to world peace. There is absolutely no chance that Iran can develop a nuclear bomb just like there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. It is just a case of jealousy. Israel does not want any prosperous neighbours and just like Iraq,Palestine,Lebanon thinks it can destroy those countries. The western populace is wising up to this criminal dishonesty and let me tell you should Israel bomb Iran all hell will break loose.
8. Response to more of Peter's ramblings
David ,   Tel Aviv   (09.09.07)
Peter, Oh I'm sorry, when Ahmadinejad said myth, I assumed he meant myth. Thank you Peter Morris, your definition is much more authoritative than the dictionary's--an unfounded and false notion. And by the way, legend, ghost and aura all have false connotations. And thank you for explaining to us the concept of the Holocaust industry. You read an article by Norman Finkelstein? And lastly, we can all breath a sigh of relief in Israel. Peter Morris has assured us that Iran is incapable of producing nuclear weapons. I will go notify our intelligence agencies.
9. #1 You just Defined Your Fraud
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.09.07)
A "myth" is an unreality. Stop playing with words. If I said you are a myth, I am saying you don't exist! Like all lefties, when you don't have an argument, OBFUSCATE! The 'industry' Hitler run made sure that my grandparents were murdered for no other reason than that they were Jewish. If you want to call the free worlds' powers vow that this shall never again happen and 'industry,' it only proves the validity of paragraph one. If you are among the 'millions' who think that Israel and the US are the greatest threat to world peace, remember, in addition to my grandparents skins being lampshades, you'd be speaking Japanese, had the 'greatest threat to world peace' not defeated the Germans and Japanese. We and Israel will defeat this current nutcase megalomaniac in Iran so you and the millions of deluded hypocrites can continue to spout of your Leftist drivel. Were your admired petty despot Ahmidinejad allowed to get the bomb, you would be among the first to suffer the fate of my grandparents. Just shut up before you put your foot inextricably into your prevaricating mouth!
10. David, you fall into a common trap.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (09.09.07)
I give you some intelligence and I figure you realize what contitutes lies, spin and miss truths. Where you fall down is assuming you can onsell the lies and be believed. The word myth is someones translation. sometimes it is impossible to translate the correct meaning other times its convenient to miss quote. your intelligence agencies are the same who fed a pack of lies to the American on Iraq's capabilities. I would rather go by the UN which says there is no evidence of any nuclear weapons program in Iran. Even if there was Iran would be quite justified in balancing Israel's arsenal.
11. #1 Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, Mate, you've been drinking WAY to
much Forster's ,   beer yeah, AU.   (09.09.07)
12. Peter Morris only a complete lunatic would defend
Whack-a-Troll ,   USA   (09.09.07)
Ahmadinejad's rantings and ravings and be so out of touch with reality as to state that Iran hasn't been involved in terrorism since 1984. You really need to stop deluding yourself and passing your opinions off as legitimate political discourse.
13. #8, he gets his information from Finkelstein
Danny   (09.09.07)
I'm shocked!! No wonder he has "radical" interpretations of myth. Here's another quote from him: "Some European countries insist on saying that Hitler killed millions of innocent Jews in furnaces.... Although we don't accept this claim", sound like he accepts the "claim" the Holocaust happened? You can hear him say these very words: http://www.voanews.com/uspolicy/archive/2005-12/2005-12-13-voa5.cfm Of course this is a zionist mouthpiece and just because it happens to have a recording of Ahmadenejad saying this doesn't mean he said it.... "We don't want to confirm or deny the Holocaust. We oppose every type of crime against any people. But we want to know whether this crime actually took place or not. " From Der Spiegel, again sound like he accepts it happened? Whilst Finkelstein's wilful fraud over the years has meant he is without a job anywhere and can make a living selling to dimwits like Peter. Extremists like Ahmadenejad, Hizbollah and Hamas must be glad that these people who exist who can take the most black and white quote and "reinterpret" it. PS 1,500 figure for Lebanese "civilians" is false. Even Hizbollah only claims 1,200. Guess Peter knows better
14. Iran defeated Israel
John ,   London,UK   (09.09.07)
Israel has now admiited that its 2006 war was in reality a war with Iran. If Dan Gillerman was totally honest, he should know that it a war between Israel, US and Iran. It must be quite a shock that two great powers fail against Iran. Its no secret that this was the first war Israel failed to win. British papers reported that Israel was defeated by Hezbollah. US lost the war. Iran claimed victory and grew stronger. As a result of Israeli defeat, Syria has now allied itself with Iran. Iran and Hezbollah are more stronger today then since the founding of the Islamic Revilution in Iran in 1979. Iranian President now openly calls Israel satan's flag and a rotten tree. Ahmadinejad is planning destruction of Israel. He knows that Hezbollah and Hamas are with him. In any new war, Iran is ready to unleash hell on Israel. Hamas is now using Hezbollah tactics.. Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah just celebrated anniversary of his victory and has promised major surprises for Israeli military during the next battle. Israel has no option but to seek peaceful ways to settle long standing issues. Otherwise I fear that Israel's days are coming to an end. Ahmadinejad has declared that countdown to Israel's destruction has already begun.
15. One thing is very clear...
Persian CAT   (09.09.07)
that Israel is the looser here. Who cares if the war was with Iran or Lebanon or anyone else.
16. John--a bit pessimistic
David   (09.09.07)
And riddled with misleading statements. 1. Syria was already allied with Iran--for a long time now--Since the Iran-Iraq War actually. 2. Ahmadinejad openly called for Israel's destruction before last years war. Nothing changed. 3. The US didn't participate in the war--although they do sell Israel weaponry, Israel did not "unleash the beast" so to speak. I agree that Israel did not win--but they did not lose either. Just because Hizbullah claims victory doesn't make it so. I would say that a lot of Lebanese would claim that it certainly doesn't look like victory--they are still cleaning the rubble. And Hizbullah talks a big game, but they got pounded. I take the opposite view--I think Israel learned a lot from this test run, and will be much better prepared for the inevitable second round. (I think it was Dichter who said something like this last week).
17. Peter, you make your case wonderfully
David ,   Tel Aviv   (09.09.07)
Brilliant. "I give you some intelligence and I figure you realize what contitutes lies, spin and miss truths." This is a marvelously eloquent statement. You are correct; when I look back over our conversation, I now see your intelligence, and my 'miss truths'. "Where you fall down is assuming you can onsell the lies and be believed." Yes Peter, that is absolutely right. I did think I can onsell lies and be believed. "The word myth is someones translation. sometimes it is impossible to translate the correct meaning other times its convenient to miss quote." You are right, and this is a good defense. Ahmadinejad was misquoted on numerous occassions by numerous sources. "your intelligence agency fed a pack of lies"--irrelevant, but we don't necessarily disagree. I don't think it was intentional though. "Even if there was Iran would be quite justified in balancing Israel's arsenal." Yeah, well Israel doesn't threaten to wipe other countries off the face of the map, and isn't led by a theocratic despotic regime, the head of which pines for the return of the Mahdi--a return harkened by armageddon. I must also say that if your real name is indeed Peter Morris and you are from New Zealand--methinks the answer is no to both--the number one thing I have learned from your posts is that New Zealand is in dire need of a complete overhaul of the education system. Your spelling, grammar, word choice and overall writing is at about a sixth grade level.
18. Thanks. Seems I won the argument.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (09.10.07)
Well at least you didn't play the anti semitism card whatever thats supposed to mean. But your resorting to personal abuse gives me the satisfaction knowing you have no worthwhile counter argument.
19. #18, I think he gave up
Danny   (09.10.07)
Because you are either a wind-up merchant or irredeemably stupid and I think he has gone with the former as he suspects no one can actually be that dumb.
20. #1...let's talk about Iran
DR ,   Florida, USA   (09.10.07)
Peter, how come you don't mention the fact that the avegrage iranian citizen has very little rights? They execute people in public. The Iranian economy is falling fast, the whole world is watching Iran's nuclear program with skeptical eyes, Western music, haircuts and clothing have been banned there. What else do you need to undeerstand that Iran is an ass-backwards regime, founded on religious fanaticism? Ahmadinejad has denied the significance of the holocasut several times. We know that Iran supports terror groups like Hamas, Hezballah etc. We know that they send insurgents and weapons to Iraq to stop that country from becoming a democracy. The facts are behind us Peter. Your baseless rubbish sounds like Pro-Muslim propoganda to me. You are an imbicile Peter!!!
21. #14, Pathetic John
DR ,   Florida, USA   (09.10.07)
Or is it Ahmed??? You keep regurgitating the same crap all the time. Maybe this is how they get you to believe in the Muslim propoganda, but it won't work here. We are all far too educated to buy into your lies. Maybe you should try to think for yourslef for once and not follow your imams like a dog. Israel has lost nothing and will never lose anything to the likes of you. Israel's progress makes you mad and jelous and this is why your whole culture revolves around violence and hate. In the end, you will lose and so will Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezballah etc. You are the scum of the earth and therfore will never succeed at anything.
22. War was Israeli-Iranian
Phil ,   Canada   (09.11.07)
Your comment "clear definition of terrorism" is "the deliberate use of violence against civilians in order to achieve a political end." Is this not Israel?
23. Quick points.
AR ,   USA   (09.12.07)
Is this guy declaring war with Iran? But lets think about what he said. If this was israel iran war then israel got its ass kicked. A couple thousand guys with mines rockets and assault rifles fought of 40,000 of the the 2nd best soldiers in the world and lived through a huge ariel attack. Israel with its supperior numbers and equipment lost to a bunch of thugs makes you wonder why this guy is talking so tough he hasnt even seen the IRGC yet.
24. to #15
Ben M. ,   someone who knows...   (09.12.07)
maybe you don't care now, but you will care soon, trust me.....
