"Israel liberated their historic homeland from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in the War of 1967. Islamist-Jihadists?? In 1967? This goes to prove your historical incompetence. The PLO and Fatah were around then and they were both and still are secular organizations. I suggest you brush up on your (basic) Arab and Palestinian history my friend. The reason extremist/violent jihad increased exponentially is because of the US' biased support of Israel at the expense of the indigenous Palestinians. Wake up.
32. Bush's agenda
Canadian Otter   (09.12.07)
I heard a report where Bush was asked what were his plans after he retires from the presidency. He said he wanted to "replenish his coffers", meaning of course, he wants to make lots of money. His first job will be to go on the lecture circuit. The fees that an ex-president can get are obscene. At least he was honest enough not to say something like "to work for peace" because people would have been rolling on the floor laughing. So it's quite obvious the man is greedy to the point where he can decide on the future of Israel based on personal interests as much as on American interests in the Middle East. A little Saudi persuation (and money) can go a long way to convince him to bully Israel into submitting to a plan such as this one, where Israel will be easy pickings for its enemies waiting all around. Regarding Israeli politicians, it has been obvious that some of them on the Left hate Judaism so much that they would be happy to see Israel turned into an Arab country. And then, there are some who do not care one way or the other but who are vulnerable to the seduction of money, or to blackmail. To tell the truth, there does not seem to be any real patriotism in the Knesset. If there is, we are still waiting to hear from them. In any case, Israelis must remember that the country belongs to them, not to those individuals in the Knesset. It's their land. It's the land of their children. They must not allow this crime to be perpetrated against them and against the memory of those who perished because they were a minority in someone else's country.
33. War Is Prophesied B"H
hershy ,   brooklyn ny   (09.12.07)
War is prophesied, in Jewish scripture, with Great and Mighty Victory for Israel "And the Jews had light and joy..."
34. #13 al mann , Jerusalem
boruch ,   brooklyn ny   (09.12.07)
B"H No, sorry, you are completely wrong. The messiah, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, said Moshiach is already here. The time of our redemption is near at hand. Hashem will never give Ishmael, etc. Israel or Jerusalem. There will be light, joy and redemption very soon now. Much of our suffering is due to the religious. How hard did we try to teach Torah to the ignorant over the last few hundred years? Rambam says most Jews who aren't observant are of the category of Teenoke SheNishbah. (I don't know if this applies to Olmert and Co.) Perhaps the religious are ultimately to blame. The truth is painful.
35. Where is the Right?
BJL ,   USA   (09.12.07)
This madness can only happen if those on the Right allow it! Where is Bibi? Where is Lieberman? Shas? Havent heard from Feiglin lately! Come on! Get with it and stop this madness!
36. Isn't this what Israel agreed to do in 1993, 96, 98
R ,   Florida   (09.12.07)
only one principle will work: Complete end of Jewish occupation in Palestine. The rest of the BS: document of understanding, document of political horizon, document of principles, document of breathing space, document of ideas, etc…... has been going on for about 15 years and didn’t work.
37. olmert had already distinguished himself as the worst PM
dante ,   uk   (09.12.07)
olmert had already distinguished himself as the worst PM in the history of Israel. now, he wants to establish his reputation as a betrayer of the people, the state, and the heritage of Israel. this hollow man, this vain, foolish, and truly senseless man is a serious threat to Israel.
38. #35 - You were asking about Moshe Feiglin
Canadian Otter   (09.12.07)
Here's his latest column. http://www.jewishisrael.org/views/feiglin/67/feiglin_6734.htm This Land is Our Land is a good column, but what about the pre-agreement with Abbas? Nothing. What about rallying people to protest? Nothing. He is a good man, a decent man with a pro-Israel agenda. But there's no passion, no urgency, no apparent realization that things will be decided within weeks and there's no time to lose.
39. Home, here we come! home sweet home :)

40. Waz up Wissam?
JG ,   US   (09.12.07)
Hey dude, lighten up. Go for a walk, eat a slice of pizza or some fried chicken. You seem tense and upset. Take a stroll on a beach, enjoy the sunset, you may meet a woman. Go roller blading or play some golf.
41. Stopping The Firesale Dead In Its Tracks
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (09.12.07)
Surely the revelations about a firesale of our Jewish homeland/heritage are the gravest threats to the Jewish people since the Holocaust. There is NO doubt about this. Those who state that we shouldn't be melodramatic since Israel has a strong army, strong economy, yada yada, are living in cuckooland. In that case, my best advise to them would be to read, 'The Oslo Syndrome:Delusions Of A People Under Siege', written by noted Harvard psychiatrist (who is also a Princeton historian) Dr. Kenneth Levin. What good will the IDF be if terrorists are implanted in EVERY Israeli corner? How long will the economy last when besieged by Islamic terrorists on EVERY corner? Therefore, the most urgent mission of all zionists is to stop the Olmert regime by Any Means Necessary. Really.
42. To The Deluded 'Wissam' Poster # 1
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (09.12.07)
'Wissam', the towns you mention in your post were NEVER Arab towns. They were given Arab names when they were taken from the original owners - the Jews. Read your history bud. Start with Joan Peter's book, 'From Time Immemorial'. Then, get back to me.
43. to #1: What ethnic cleansing?
Tobias   (09.12.07)
You mention "ethnic cleansing" of Haifa and Acre. When were they "ethnic cleansed"? And where do all these arabs come from which I met in these city? They still have large arab populations. How come, if they had been ethnically cleansed? Actually, I know hardly any city which is less "ethnically cleansed" than Haifa (ok, I haven't been in NYC yet...). Have you ever been to Haifa or Acre?
44. #19 Steve
Tracy W   (09.13.07)
I haven't given up and neither should anyone. Something needs to happen, coming from any section of the population, including the IDF. This surrender almost happened before and Israel was saved - incredibly - by Arafat and the Arabs themselves, with their Intifada. There is a G-d and I truly hope something will stop the Bush plot to destroy Israel.
45. could someone please tell me-from the headline picture
yahn goodey   (09.13.07)
of olmert and abbas-which one is israels prime minister ? i know i am starting to lose my eyesight but from what i hear either one could be the pm of israel----they both seem to have the same policy in mind for jews
46. Permission to live in Yesha?
Steven ,   USA/Israel   (09.13.07)
Jews need no permission to live in Judea and Samaria. We can live in those places proudly as an entitlement without having to ask anyone if they will allow us to live there.
47. 1.Wissam,you haven't gone far enough, what the heck does this
Mina   (09.14.07)
mean by 'israeli assets'?They were all stolen from the Palestinians and now he doesn't want to give them back! The UN in 1947 divided historic Palestine into 2 sections. This is the Line that should be followed.Plus East jerusalem as capital & right of refugees to return. The settlements must go since 1967 they are ALL illegal. You can be sure the trade off will be a rip off, like in Oslo.Russian jews were brought into the Occupied Lands violating the Geneva Convention. And they weren't even refugees! abbas is a traitor to his people!
48. Giving up land with no shareholder appr.
Big Bad ,   Toronto   (09.16.07)
Israel, the corporate headquarters for the Jewish people, now finds itself with a CEO who has lost direction! Time is of the essence--replace Olmert with Faiglin and recognize and deal with the enemies big time! Concessions and appeasement don"t cut it. Remember Gush Katif !!
