1. not a single word of blame for the terrorists
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (09.14.07)
i see that this is in complete agreement with what muslims around the world say: israel is 100% to blame for the problems in the middle east and the rest of the world. it's not hizbullah's fault for what they did by starting the war. no, they had no choice because they cannot respond any other way, so no apology from, or blame for, the aggressive genocidal terrorists, the ones who endeavored to kill ro'i and celebrate his death. what rubbish this article is! i feel sorry for losing her son, but that brave man did not die for these slanders to be used in his name while his actual killers smile in complete agreement with what his mother is doing.
2. They should apologize!
Murray of Montreal   (09.14.07)
The IDF should not have gone to war until they were ready. They were unprepared and they should have been. They should be man enough to admit that they have learned from their mistakes, that they will not make them again and that they will make certain that those who follow will be encouraged to remain vigilent.
3. Olmert and Livni, as well as Peretz are responsible
Amir ,   Beer Sheva   (09.14.07)
As one guy from the pensioners party said to Winigrad c'tee, Olmert did not mobilize the tyroops because he was afraid that creditit rating will be lowered. Olmert is totally resposible for deaths of soldiers. He sent them to die to keep the credit rating (instead of mobilising IDF for a fight). Now he doing the same thing with Sderot for his private business. And Livni seating next to him though she said that he MUST risign. But little money keeps her in place (and hope that Olmert will end up in jail and she will replace him).

5. to the mother...
nuha ,   jerusalem   (09.15.07)
before two days my son visited his relative in another city becouse the daughter of this family was so sick ,had ca ... on the second day he made a call saying mother. om sami was dead .. i asked the daughter ... he said no it is the mother .. she was in a good health but they found her dead in her bed , on the second morning .. why .no one can reply // it is her last day .. without sickness nor a war ..
6. #1
Michael Saltman ,   Haifa   (09.15.07)
Strong words and ideas are expressed in these talkbacks, but I cannot remember such a heartless, cynical and offensive offensive reply as that of #1. The mother of the killed soldier is aware of the murderous intentions of terrorists, as all of us are. She is directing her anger towards the irresponsibility and incompetence (indicated by the Winograds Commission so far) of our "leadership" that played a role in the death of her son. #1 is both callous and shameless.

the article says (if you bothered to read it): "...the three (israeli) leaders and their aides responsible for the Second Lebanon war to come forward and apologize to me for killing my child." she says that the arguably incompetent jewish leadership "killed" her son. that is absolute rubbish. they did not throw that grenade at her son's comrades, and to imply a direct connection between hizbullah terrorists and the elected leadership of this country is unconscionable and every israeli who reads these words should not sit idly by and let them pass silently. there is not a single a word against the terrorists, not even an implication of any guilt for them because it is put squarely on olmert, peretz, and halutz.. not even, as you claim, "awareness" of the murders OR their intentions. none. just incitement worthy of israel's worst enemies. you say: "She is directing her anger towards the irresponsibility and incompetence (indicated by the Winograds Commission so far) of our "leadership" that played a role in the death of her son." not so. she explicitly and unequivocally says that leadership "kill(ed) my son". unlike you, i am taking exception to what she actually said, not what you imagine she said or what you think she probably meant. call that callous and shameless, but she is wrong and should be challenged on her gross error.
8. Mike - Israel
David ,   Rishon Litzion   (09.16.07)
If I was quoating you I could've not said it better. It was a tragic death no doubt. Good people die in all wars even moral wars. Confronting evil is moral and death of our best tragically is the price we pay.
9. We will all die eventually. Some sooner. some later.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (09.16.07)
Eventually you get on with life. He was born...therefore he died. It's going to happen to all of us. War just speeds it up. Accidents speed it up. Abortions speed it up. Disease speeds it up. Inevitablity speeds it up.
