1. That is astonishing, that a Jew would be given justice in
Rivkah   (09.24.07)
Lebanan. To Moslems and Christians there, he is a Jew regardless of any supposed conversion to another religion. Perhaps Israel should deport him to Germany, too, so he will see how hated Jews are there, too. Maybe one day he will decide to repent of his sins and return to the religion of his bloodline.

Astonishing, you said, that a "Jew would be given justice in Lebanon". Of course, you mix up the whole story. He was arrested for involvement, or alleged involvement in a murder. It was then discovered that he is an Israeli (NOT "a Jew" as you so divisively have stated). i.e. he is an Israeli citizen in a country which is not at peace with Israel. Undoubtedly he was having loads of fun in Beirut - such a sophisticated and refined social scene - but he was an Israeli citizen, never having revoked his nationality. As for your comment taht perhaps Israel "should deport him to Germany" so he can see how hated Jews are there too" - I think that you blanket condemnation of the world for anti-Semitism is unsophisticated and puerile nonsense. Many Israelis have chosen to go and live in Germany, and if there was a peace treaty with Lebanon, you can rest assured that a certain educated and cultured segment of the Israeli population would be spending their weekends in Beirut. However, if you choose to see this whole miserable affair as some latter-day outburst of anti-Semitism on behalf of the Lebanese police, then it's your choice to live in a blinkered and medieval world.

Considering how often Mossad agents use passports of other countries (e.g., Canada, New Zealand), it's not surprising that if Lebanon finds a "German" (passport) is actually an Israeli citizen (second passport) it worries that it is dealing with a spy.
