KKL will sell land to arabs if they receive land from the Israel land authority in compensation for this land . OK ? so they will not loose anything . That's one Secondly , they will SELL , not give . And with this money the KKL can buy other land . So the KKL will RECEIVE land in compensation + money from the sale . Double earning , not so bad i think

From the article: "Until such an agreement is reached, JNF lands will be marketed equally to Jews and non-Jews." So, if there is no land-swap agreement, JNF lands will be marketed equally. That means that non-Jews will indeed be getting Jewish-purchased land. Land is not infinite, by the way. Land sold to non-Jews is land that Jews cannot use.

In the heading it is said clearly , only when ILA will compensate . Don't you know the possibilities the KKl has to let those buyers wait 3 months , and to receive land in compensation ? Do you think that if they can have such a deal , they will be in a hurry to sell ? And if they sell without compensation , they will have money to buy other land in any case , you probaly forgot that when you sell you receive cash . And this money is used to buy other land . I don't think that by selling land they loose money . KKl is also a business , they buy and sell .

After reading this article, I am sorry that my mother and grandmother put money in the blue and white JNF pushkas, when I was a child, many years ago.

One of the captions does seem clear, but these captions aren't even written by the reporters. And, the existence of the text I identified in #34 contradicts the caption, and that text was written by the reporter. Furthermore, I see no reason to trust Israeli reporters or editors unless various disparate voices all agree. Finally, I don't see how your interpretation, which says that the proposed change is just a pass-through provision (the gov pays JNF for Arabs to get land) could possibly be a "compromise" that would dissuade the Court from going after the JNF. The whole thing doesn't make sense. If the reality is what you say, then this "innovation" is hardly leftist, but leftism is exactly what the Court really wants.

Another choice, which JNF did not apparently decide to follow, was to stop the sale of land to anyone. Just break the special relationship with the State of Israel and become a private corporation, holding the land in trust for Jewish people, but putting it to beneficial use. With its donations from abroad, JNF could just buy up the land turning it at least for now into parks, forests, ecotourism places. This way, it would be buying up the land and doing something good and useful. I am sure that Jews worldwide would continue to support JNF, if instead of selling the land, it would build useful structures on it for the benefit of all residents of Israel, build schools, recreation centers, places where families would be able to go on weekends (and not trash them as this would be private parks, making visitors sign promises to pay for garbage they leave)... JNF has no imagination.

It's like that old Jewish joke: "You're right as well!" JNF suggested a compromise - it will sell the lands to both Jews and non-Jews. For whatever land they sell to non-Jews they want to be compensated with the same area of land elsewhere. They do not get more money than they invest, charles. My guess is that what happens is that they buy the land from the govt for a lesser price than its fair-market value. Then they invest funds into providing an infrastructure for communities, then they sell plots (I am not sure if they sell apts or houses).

Well the court has accepted a delay , so the KKl and ILA can make a fair deal . I think that in some places houses are build on ground that is "leased" or something as this . When the ILA sells land to the KKL , i don't think that they can sell it otherwise , there are no commodities and so as you say , the KKl provides them . Would you buy a plot of land to build or to farm , if there is no road to reach it ? And i don't think that the KKl sells without a , maybe small , benefit .

Many nature reserves and parks are on KKL grounds and maintained by the Parks and nature reserves organisations . And we do not talk about the many forests , bought and planted by the KKL .

In principle I am against selling Jewish land to Arabs. the British government, and the people of the UK are already paying the price of uncontrolled immigration of Muslims, some extremists. Israel simply cannot afford to encourage an enemy within, more than it has already.

I think we should look at this matter in more of a big picture way. At stake is the propriety of an organization that is solely dedicated to helping Jews settle the land of Israel. The question is, quite simply, is it immoral for such an organization to exist? The Left (including the Court) and the Muslims think it is immoral. I disagree. I also think that the JNF has yet to make the full case regarding why its mission is to sell only to Jews. Yes, part of that case is that the money was donated for that purpose. That alone is sufficient. But even more important is the morality of Jews controlling their own destinies by controlling the land of Israel.

Yes , that money was donated for that purpose as you wrote . But i think that most of the land the KKL bought , and most of their expenses are not for building plots . And i don't think that many non Jews want to live in Jewish communities . I don't think that there are many , if there is any , of them living in my town , and we have 200,000 inhabitants . They also prefer their environnement , their people around them . So in my view it's a rare case , where this arab organisation has made a high court case from . In 1978 we wanted to rent an office for my wife while still begalut . everything was OK till they heard her name . Not a local one , a Jewish one . No deal was made . And this was not a good feeling for us .

I have been donating to JNF for 40 years, but I guess I will have to stop now. It's a shame the JNF had to cave to the Leftists.

We bought the land to ensure a Jewish Israel! That is why it is called the Jewish National Fund, not the Israel National Fund!
